Chapter 43: The Third Brother Loves Learning
Shu Zhouxing pulled Shen Changnian out.
When they reached the door, Shu Zhouxing suddenly stopped and looked at Lin Zhi.
"When I shot the third arrow, the bow I used didn't feel right. I have to go to the hospital and don't have time to check it out. Can you help me check it out?" Shu Zhouxing said.
"I'll go if you ask me to?" Lin Zhi raised his chin, then glanced at the little girl in his arms meaningfully, licked his lips, "If you ask me to go to your house to see Yueyue, I'll help you."
"You..."
A dirty word was about to come out of Shu Zhouxing's throat.
My sister is not your sister.
Don't you have a sister?
Shu Zhouxing swallowed it back abruptly, "Okay, come to my house in a few days, but you can only watch, don't even think about doing anything extra."
"No problem!"
Lin Zhi agreed readily.
Shu Zhouxing took one last look in the direction of the shooting range, and doubts arose in his heart.
Was there really someone who wanted to harm him and secretly tampered with the bow?
Or was he overthinking?
The driver of the Shu family took them to the hospital.
Shen Changnian's wound needed stitches.
Shu Zhouxing was waiting for him outside with Shu Yue in his arms.
While waiting, Shu Zhouxing also learned about the relationship between Shen Changnian and their family from Shu Yue's inner voice.
It was so complicated.
With his father's style of doing things, he didn't just uproot the problem, but also funded him.
After a while, Shen Changnian came out of the emergency room.
"No matter how much the medical expenses are, I will pay you back." Shen Changnian said.
"Your current tuition is all funded by our family. Do you have money to pay me back?" Shu Zhouxing asked directly.
Shen Changnian's body froze there.
His eyelashes drooped deeply.
Shu Zhouxing also felt that this was a bit too straightforward, and waved his hand, "It's not much money. If you really want to pay it back, just write an IOU and pay me back when you have money."
"Okay." Shen Changnian nodded.
He borrowed a piece of paper from the nurse, took a pen, wrote an IOU and handed it to Shu Zhouxing.
Shu Zhouxing was too lazy to take it, mainly because he didn't care about the money.
He lowered his eyes and scanned the piece of paper.
Not to mention, the handwriting is really beautiful.
The pen tip is strong and powerful, and it can penetrate the paper.
Shu Zhouxing took it casually and put it in his pocket. He
wanted to leave immediately.
[Third brother, you can't just leave like this. If you leave like this, won't all the favorability points you gained so far be wasted?]
Then what else do you want from him?
You can't keep taking care of him until he recovers, right?
Not to mention that he doesn't have that much patience, let alone that he has no patience at all.
[Third brother, Shen Changnian is a superb student. Don't you want him to help you with your studies? With such a student by your side, wouldn't it be a waste if you don't use him?]
Shu Zhouxing: No, thank you.
Let him study? It would be better to just let him die.
Shu Zhouxing walked out without saying a word.
[Actually, my third brother has no talent in study. He can only get 5 points out of 100 for neatness. My third brother is really talented in sports. He can learn anything. Others have to study hard for several years, but my third brother can learn it as soon as he starts. He is extremely talented.]
[Alas, it's a pity. My brother's study ability is too poor. If it weren't for the low score in the written test, my brother would have the hope of becoming the apprentice of Master Yan Si. It's a pity that he lost to Shen Wanlie by 50 points.]
Shu Zhouxing's foot that was heading outside stopped abruptly.
Yan Si, a top shooting master and world champion.
His idol.
He almost became Yan Si's apprentice?
Lost to Shen Wanlie because of the written score?
And lost to Shen Wanlie.
Shu Zhouxing's steps back were just as firm as his steps when he walked out.
In just a few steps, he was in front of Shen Changnian.
Shen Changnian was about to leave.
Seeing Shu Zhouxing coming back, his eyebrows wrinkled slightly, wondering what this young master was doing again? Did he change his mind and want him to pay him back now?
Shu Zhouxing raised his chin arrogantly, "I'll give you a chance to pay me back."
Shen Changnian:?
Shu Zhouxing: "Tutor me in my studies, and I'll pay you according to the market price. Consider it as the money you owe me."
Shen Changnian pursed his lips.
Shu Zhouxing's grades were notoriously poor. Because they were so poor, people even suspected that he had an IQ problem and was a mentally retarded child.
He might be pissed to death if he hasn't learned how to counsel such a person.
But does he have a choice?
"Okay." Shen Changnian was silent for a while, but still nodded in agreement.
"What's your cell phone number? I'll call you when I set the time." Shu Zhouxing snapped his fingers, feeling very happy.
"I don't have a cell phone." Shen Changnian said.
Shu Zhouxing opened his mouth wide. Who doesn't have a cell phone these days?
But thinking of the situation at Shen Changnian's home, Shu Zhouxing thought it was normal.
He took out his spare cell phone from his pocket and threw it to Shen Changnian.
"Use mine first. How can I contact you if you don't have a cell phone? What if I have something and can't let you come, or I need you to add a few more classes? Do you want me to go around the streets looking for you?"
Shen Changnian wanted to refuse.
Hearing this, he swallowed his refusal.
"I'll contact you when a time is set."
Shu Zhouxing waved his hand and left the hospital in a swagger.
Shen Changnian left the hospital.
He took the bus, changed several stops, and got off at a busy place in a vegetable market.
He walked through a long alley.
The community had been in disrepair for many years, and many facilities were dilapidated. The lights in the corridor flickered, and the air could still smell of rotten vegetable leaves.
Shen Changnian took out his key and opened the door.
The house had a moldy smell from windows that had not been opened for years, and the interior was simple.
He put the medicine in the house and walked into another bedroom.
A woman was lying on the bed, looking sickly. Because of years of taking medicine and suffering from illness, she didn't have much energy in her body.
"I bought some food and came back. Get up and eat something."
Shen Changnian put the food on the table.
While opening the plastic bag, she said, "I will be back later starting tomorrow. You can take care of dinner by yourself. I have to go help someone with counseling."
The woman on the bed didn't say anything. Shen Changnian was used to it.
Shen Changnian opened the plastic bag, paused, and still didn't say it was the Shu family.
"Have you visited your dad?"
the woman on the bed asked hoarsely.
"Yeah." Shen Changnian nodded.
"The police told me that day that he could only live for three months. Is your dad okay? He can only live for three months. The Shu family... Why can't the Shu family let him go?" Shen's mother cried hesitantly.
Shen Changnian lowered his eyes, his face cold, "He was the one who harmed the Shu family first."
The woman's body stiffened.
After a moment, she lay down again without saying anything.
"Did you take the money from the Shu family?"
After a while.
Shen's mother suddenly asked Shen Changnian.
Shen Changnian was silent for a while, "I can't live without that money. Your medical expenses, my tuition, our living expenses, do you expect me to work part-time to support our family? Or should I drop out of school and work to support both of us? I don't have that ability yet."
"I'm sorry." Shen's mother bit her lip and cried, "I don't mean to blame you, I just think I'm useless. If my health wasn't so bad, if I was more useful, you wouldn't have to suffer so much."
Shen Changnian patted Shen's mother on the shoulder.
"Xiao Nian, do you regret becoming our son?" Shen's mother asked.
