The next day, at daybreak, the traveling team was ready to set off.
At the gate of the palace, the late concubine held Mu Qingyun's hand and was telling him something.
"Yun'er, you haven't left yet, but your mother is already reluctant to let you go." The late concubine said with a sob.
"Mu Qingyun hugged the concubine and comforted her: "Mother, don't worry. I will write back to you as soon as I arrive in Lichuan."
Yan'er gave him a bird that could quickly deliver messages and fly a thousand miles in a day.
When Concubine Wan knew about this, she wiped away her tears and said, "Then Mother will wait for your good news."
Suddenly, she lowered her voice and whispered in Mu Qingyun's ear: "Be careful about everything, especially the prince."
She felt that the prince had some conspiracy behind his trip to Lichuan.
Otherwise, why would such a lazy guy go to the disaster area?
Mu Qingyun naturally took this into consideration. Based on his understanding of the prince, it was impossible for the prince to be so proactive. There must be something fishy going on.
He nodded and replied, "Don't worry, mother. I will be careful."
The queen wanted to give the prince a ride, but he refused.
He didn't want to listen to the queen's nagging, and this time when he left, he wouldn't have to listen to his mother's nagging for a long time.
Huo Qing was urging them. If they didn't hurry up, they would not be able to leave Kyoto for a long time.
"Your Highness the Second Prince, it's almost time, we should set off." Huo Qing reminded him.
After Mu Qingyun got on the horse, he glanced at Wan Fei reluctantly and never looked back.
A group of people set off in a mighty procession.
The team hurried along the post road, but after walking for most of the day, they didn't see even an inn nearby.
It was the first time for the prince to ride a horse for such a long time. The journey was bumpy and gradually, he became unable to sit still.
As the person in charge of this trip, Huo Qing needed to report everything to him, even the prince.
The prince rode his horse close to Huo Qing and complained to him: "Huo Qing, this prince is a little tired, please stop and rest for a while."
Huo Qing gave him a cold look, as if he was looking at an idiot.
"Prince, please think twice. We have only been walking for a short time."
We have only walked for such a short distance, how can we rest now? Otherwise, we won’t be able to get to the inn by nightfall.
The prince was an arrogant and willful person. He felt that no one dared to refute what he said.
He thought Huo Qing would agree, but he didn't know he had run into a tough problem.
"I don't care. I just need to rest. If you don't stop, I will report you to father." He threatened.
Huo Qing ignored his threat and said, "Go ahead and tell him. I'll see if the emperor is willing to believe me or you."
The prince was unsure because the people here were all Huo Qing's subordinates and he couldn't deal with them.
Also, he had committed a crime before and Emperor Hui had put him in jail.
If this matter were reported to Emperor Hui, he would be in trouble.
Mu Qingyun watched all this from behind and said sarcastically, "Prince, I advise you to be more obedient and not cause trouble for Lord Huo."
"Second brother, shut up." The prince was so angry that he had to yell at Mu Qingyun.
Mu Qingyun shrugged and ignored him.
The prince had no choice but to continue riding his horse, hoping that the rest time would come soon.
He didn't expect that his identity as a prince would be useless this time.
In the palace, the prince always relied on his status to bully the palace maids and eunuchs. Even if those people were bullied by him, they did not dare to retaliate.
Besides, he has the Queen's support behind him. If the Queen holds a grudge against him, he will suffer.
So, those people think that they can just endure it and it will pass.
The prince forgot that he was not the person in charge of this disaster and had no real power. Everyone in this team listened to Huo Qing.
Huo Qing had made great contributions in handling the disaster before. Unless there was a big problem, how could Emperor Hui punish him for such a small problem?
The prince did not understand the situation clearly, so he fell in front of Huo Qing.
It was getting dark. After a day's journey, they finally saw an inn in front of them.
When I got closer, I saw a plaque hanging above the inn with "Yuelai Inn" written on it.
The inn has three floors. The first floor is the lobby where guests eat.
The second and third floors are for accommodation. The style of the inn is simple and not luxuriously decorated.
As soon as the waiter saw Huo Qing and his group, he hurried forward to greet them.
As he walked, he asked enthusiastically, "Guests, are you here for a quick stopover or to stay overnight?"
Huo Qing walked in front. He glanced around but found nothing suspicious.
There were only a few people sitting in the lobby on the first floor eating, and they all looked like ordinary people.
He replied calmly, "Stay for one night. Waiter, bring all the good wine and food you have here."
Although they were going to provide disaster relief, he could not allow his subordinates to go hungry or have a bad rest since they were following him.
Only if they get enough rest can they travel better and reach Lizhou earlier.
The waiter said with a smile: "Okay, sir, please wait a moment."
The waiter got a satisfactory result and glanced towards the shopkeeper with an incomprehensible look in his eyes.
There were fifty people in their group, and they took five tables to fill.
As soon as Mu Qingyun came in, he felt that this inn was a little unusual and vaguely uneasy, but he couldn't put his finger on why.
He had no choice but to keep his doubts to himself.
Huo Qing looked at his sad face and thought he was not used to it, so he jokingly asked, "Your Highness, are you not used to it?"
When Mu Qingyun heard someone calling him, he came to his senses and said, "Master Huo, I'm not unaccustomed to it, I just feel something is wrong."
Huo Qing looked calm and unhurried, not caring about it. "Your Highness, we are only staying here for one night, so it shouldn't be a big deal."
