Chapter 9 Queen Mother

Just when the Queen Mother was worried, a bright and beautiful woman, holding a baby in her arms, followed by Mu Shiyu, came slowly in the astonished eyes of everyone.

This beauty was none other than the Late Concubine. She was wearing a pink Sujuan dress embroidered with plum blossom patterns and a gold hairpin with carved patterns on her head. The most eye-catching thing about her was her pair of eyes that were as bright as stars.

Her body has recovered well and she looks radiant, standing out among the beauties.

Seeing Concubine Wan coming towards her, the smile on Concubine Shu's face froze and she looked at Concubine Wan with a cold gaze.

The late concubine seemed not to see her and walked straight towards the empress dowager. Finally, she stopped in front of her and bowed.

"I pay my respects to the Queen Mother."

"Grandma Empress, I'm here to see you." Mu Shiyu called the Queen Mother enthusiastically.

The Queen Mother stepped forward, helped her stand up, and said softly, "Wan Fei, please stand up. No need to be so polite. Someone, please take a seat."

He looked at his granddaughter again, pinched her face, and asked Wanfei to sit next to her.

In the past, the Queen Mother did not have a good face towards the Late Concubine, but today was a little different.

Therefore, Wan Fei was surprised for a moment, but she quickly retracted her surprised expression and replied with a smile: "Thank you, Queen Mother."

[Wow, is this the Queen Mother? My grandmother, whom I have never met, looks so well-maintained.]

[This is different from the Queen Mother I saw on TV. She doesn’t look scary at all. What a pity...]

[Hey, why is there a red spot on her face? It feels a bit strange, like she is poisoned]

Mu Nanyan looked at the empress dowager in front of her and thought of the old Buddha she had seen on TV. Her majestic appearance was a little scary.

This empress dowager was different. She looked very kind and had a benevolent smile on her face.

Mu Nanyan hadn't figured out what was going on with the red spots on her face, and this question had been lingering in her mind.

When the Queen Mother heard the voice, her smile faded a little and she thought she was hallucinating.

She looked around and found that no one was moving. Thinking of what the temple abbot said, she turned her gaze to Wan Fei's arms. Was it this little kid who was talking just now?

Is she the only one who can hear it? It seems that she is special, and for this reason, the Queen Mother has a better impression of the late concubine.

What a pity! Why only half of it was said? The Queen Mother suddenly felt a little flustered.

[It seems that the Queen Mother was a beauty when she was young. The Emperor father looks a bit like her, but the Emperor father looks so serious, I'm afraid he looks like his father.]

When the Queen Mother heard Mu Nanyan complaining about Emperor Hui, she almost laughed, but she tried her best to hold it back.

When Wan Fei heard Mu Nanyan's complaints, she laughed secretly in her heart, but her skills were very strong and she did not break, so people could not tell anything.

Fortunately, I am the only one who knows Yan'er's thoughts, otherwise the Queen Mother would probably not be in a good mood if she knew that she complained like this, Wan Fei thought to herself.

The concubine held Mu Nanyan in her arms and showed her to the empress dowager, introducing her to her: "Yan'er, this is your grandmother."

The Queen Mother looked at her lovely granddaughter and felt a tenderness in her heart.

She took off the bracelet on her wrist and handed it to Wanfei: "I didn't have time to prepare it today, so I'll give my good granddaughter some small things first, and then give her something else on the day of her full moon banquet."

Wan Fei knew that her daughter was favored by the Empress Dowager, so she did not make excuses and accepted the words on her daughter's behalf: "I would like to thank the Empress Dowager on behalf of Yan'er."

When you hold this bracelet in your hand, you can tell it is very heavy. Moreover, it is a gift from the Queen Mother and is very valuable.

This rather heart-warming scene stung Concubine Shu's eyes. She didn't understand why her aunt was so kind to Concubine Wan.

However, she didn't show it on her face, she just said sarcastically: "Oh, the late concubine is here, it's not easy to see you."

Her daughter Mu Shiyu greeted her, but she ignored her and only had eyes for Wan Fei, wanting to fight her to the end.

Wan Fei put away the smile on her face and her face darkened. "How dare I act rashly in front of the Empress Dowager? Unlike you, Shu Fei, you are the Empress Dowager's niece. You can speak freely in front of the Empress Dowager. The Empress Dowager will not blame you."

This remark slapped Concubine Shu in the face, implying that she was disrespectful in front of the Empress Dowager and acted recklessly by relying on her status as the Empress Dowager's niece.

There is a strict hierarchy in the palace, and doing this is undoubtedly a contempt for the imperial power.

"You..." Shufei was almost angry to death. She didn't understand why Wanfei had become such a sharp-tongued person.

In the past, no matter how she provoked the late concubine, she would endure it and let her ridicule her.

In fact, everyone has a bottom line and will not be trampled upon by others.

Besides, just because the concubine didn’t want to fight, it didn’t mean she didn’t have the ability to fight.

Ever since she heard Mu Nanyan's thoughts, she realized that instead of letting some people with bad intentions take advantage of her, it would be better to teach her a lesson so that they would stop trouble in front of her.

If she doesn't fight back, they will think she is easy to bully. If she keeps tolerating them, they will only become more aggressive.

Unfortunately, Concubine Shu couldn't understand this.

[Is this the Concubine Shu? She looks okay, but she always has a cockfighting expression on her face and doesn’t like anyone.]

[Mu Shiyu followed her. She was originally a clean sheet of paper, but she became a black heart. Later, she had that ending. It was all related to Concubine Shu.]

Could this Mu Shiyu turn bad? She looked nice and polite now, and when he saw her, he enthusiastically called her Wanfei Niangniang.

It's such a pity that this little girl would become like that.

The Queen Mother was heartbroken when she knew her granddaughter had a bad ending.

If Shiyu had stayed with Yan'er and been influenced by her, that ending would not have been the case. She believed that Yan'er could change her for the better.

She spoke up for the concubine, with a protective attitude. "Wanshu, what nonsense are you talking about? We are one family, we shouldn't talk about different things."
