Chapter 143 Everything Goes Well

The carriage made a clattering sound on the road, splashing dust on both sides of the road, and the wheels rumbled, leaving a series of ruts on the muddy road.

The egg-white sky in the distance gradually warmed up, taking on a gardenia-yellow hue. The mountains hidden in the darkness were outlined with very thin and light lines, like the peaks and ridges painted with fine brushwork on a porcelain vase.

Xie Xueqing opened the carriage curtain with her bare hands. The cold morning breeze made her feel refreshed. She blinked and couldn't help but look at the rising sun from afar. The road to Jing'an Temple gradually became clear in the morning mist.

She had passed this road countless times. In the past, her mood was more solemn than ever before, but now a feeling different from the past gradually rose in her heart, like a bird in a cage being released into the mountains. At that time, she felt an indescribable sense of relief.

She quietly took a breath of the cold air. The moist forest mist, with the astringent smell of green grass, blew the hairpins on her temples into disarray.

Everyone who deserved death was dead, and she was getting better and better.

She didn't know whether it was the Buddha's will or whether this was the retribution the scumbag deserved. No matter which one it was, she was sincerely grateful to fate.

Because she is not alone.

Looking down at her daughter in her arms, Xie Xueqing's eyes were unusually gentle. Although she had grown a little, she was still a small ball, sleeping in her arms. The opened curtains let the morning breeze in. As if sensing the chill, the sleeping girl subconsciously snuggled tighter into her mother's arms, grabbed Xie Xueqing's sleeves with her little hands, and pouted.

Xie Xueqing poked Yan Jin's pouting pink cheeks with a smile, raised her hand to carefully put the curtain away, and adjusted Yan Jin in her arms to a more comfortable sleeping position. She patted Yan Jin's back from time to time while leaning against the car wall with her eyes closed to rest.

Yan Jin had gotten up too early in the morning and was so sleepy that she could hardly open her eyes. She seemed to have fallen asleep later, and it was a good sleep. When she woke up, the carriage had arrived at the foot of Jing'an Temple.

Unlike the previous times, this time Yan Jin didn't need anyone to carry her and could come here by herself.

There was a small stool next to the carriage. After Yan Jin refused to be carried down by Grape, she carefully walked down on her own short legs.

The moment she landed, Grape and Xie Xueqing both clapped their hands and praised her like they were coaxing a child. Grape even kept saying it back and forth as if Yan Jin had won a medal: "The young lady is really amazing. Now she can even get off the carriage by herself!"

"That's right, Jin'er has grown up a lot." Xie Xueqing wiped her hands with a handkerchief, and smiled as she pinched Yan Jin's cheeks which had become more rosy after a good sleep.

After being praised like this, the winding and rugged path leading to Jing'an Temple seemed extremely interesting to Yan Jin. Not to mention that the place she spent most of her time in her current state was the small space in her room, even if she viewed it as an outing, climbing mountains and viewing the scenery was a great enjoyment.

So, after stretching her arms and legs, she began to climb up with her calves, which were not much higher than the ladder. However, her short arms and legs had limitations after all, and Yan Jin felt like she was rock climbing after climbing only a few stairs.

She couldn't help but sit on the steps to rest for a while. Grape took the kettle and fed her two sips: "Little Miss, I will carry you up."

Yan Jin looked at himself, who was out of breath, then at Grape, who hadn't even sweated a bead. He looked dejectedly at the stairs whose end he couldn't see clearly. Just as he was about to nod in agreement, two squirrels hopped and ran away from the side of the mountain road.

"No need, Sister Grape, I can still go on!" She stood up with high morale, and then in front of Xie Xueqing and Grape, she lay directly on the ground, and then used her hands and feet to move up quickly. Her dress made her look round, and from a distance she looked like a kitten rushing on the stage.

Grape was stunned. He rubbed his eyes before confirming who the pink ball moving quickly in front of him was: "Miss, look at the little lady!"

Xie Xueqing, who had accepted Grape's complaint, covered her lips and looked at Yan Jin on the stage, her eyes curved with a smile: "Let her be. Jin'er finally got to go out for a trip."

Seeing that Grape was still in a daze, Xie Xueqing said with a smile: "Grape, Jin'er is going to leave you nowhere to be seen."

Grape cried out in pain and quickly lifted her skirt to chase after him.

Crawling on all fours was quite fast. Yan Jin climbed up using both hands and feet, and before long, she had left Xie Xueqing far behind.

Grape had just caught up, and seeing the young master working so hard, he simply stopped trying to stop him, and his mood involuntarily became much better.

"Sister Grape! Climb!"

"Look, I'm almost there!"

Grape followed behind and said with a smile: "Young lady is really amazing, even more amazing than me!"

“That’s it!”

Yan Jin felt a little proud, but then she thought of something and felt a little embarrassed.

I feel like I have become a child, and my IQ has dropped a lot.

I used to think I was very smart, but now it seems that not only am I not much smarter, my IQ has even decreased.

Forget it, I'm just a child!

After figuring it out, Yan Jin's mood instantly improved a lot.

He continued to climb up using his hands and feet, grunting.

Just as she was climbing hard, she suddenly bumped into something.

Yan Jin covered her little head, tilted her head back, and looked pitifully at the person she had bumped into.

It was an old man wearing a gray monk's robe, with a solemn face and several prominent scars on his forehead. He was bending over to help himself up.

It was the master who I had only met once last time.

"Little donor, we meet again."

The other party spoke in a gentle tone.

"It's you!"

"I recognize you!"

After Yan Jin thanked the other party for the support, she looked at the master in a baby voice.

Seeing her fearless appearance at such a young age, the master couldn't help but smile. He reached out and brushed away the broken leaves on Yan Jin's head, then asked, "Little donor, what do you want to ask for today?"

Yan Jin pondered for a moment and shook her head decisively. In life, the best thing is to be content. She now eats well, sleeps well, and has a mother who loves her. There is really nothing to ask for.

I came to Jing'an Temple today because my mother wanted to come here.

After Xie Xueqing caught up with her daughter, she saw the little child looking up at the monk master, and her heart couldn't help but move.

Seeing her coming, Yan Jin couldn't help but waved her short hand: "Mother, the master is here, don't be afraid!"

Listening to her daughter's baby voice, Xie Xueqing suddenly felt a little amused.

She quickened her pace and came before the master, then clasped her hands together and saluted: "Master."

The master returned the greeting, then glanced at Yan Jin and understood. He said softly, "Madam, you came here to pray for the child's safety, right?"

Xie Xueqing wiped the stains off Yan Jin's hands and nodded, "Indeed."

"Madam, there's no need to worry." The master chanted Amitabha, lowered his eyes and smiled, "This child is born blessed. Whatever she desires will go smoothly."
