Chapter 46: Cannibals in the Woods

Late at night, after everyone had fallen asleep, Su Sijin came to a more secluded place.

She took out a drone from the space. In her previous life, she didn't like complicated interpersonal relationships, but she bought a drone specifically and used it to place herself in the streets and alleys.

This is where drones come in handy. Drones can reach places that humans cannot reach.

As the drone slowly rose into the sky, Su Sijin stared at the screen in her hand, searching around.

She searched carefully and spared no effort in the mountains, forests, caves, dry riverbeds, and other places where the drone could reach.

Hard work pays off, and we finally found something movable in the dry riverbed.

And they were coming towards where she was.

In order to determine whether it was a friend or foe, she lowered the drone and approached the moving object. When she saw that the drone was discovered, she picked up a stone and attacked Xu Yongsi who was driving the drone.

There were at least a hundred people following Xu Yongsi, and Su Sijin flew a drone into the woods.

The large trees in the forest make it more difficult for drones to search, and even with the help of infrared rays, it is still as difficult as climbing to the sky.

Su Sijin rubbed her dry eyes, but still found nothing. Suddenly, she found an object moving quickly.

There were other objects chasing after it. Su Sijin tried to get closer to see it more clearly, but the trees were too big and the branches were too dense.

If you try to force your way close, the drone will get entangled in the branches. If you are not careful, not only will the drone be destroyed, but it may also cause a fire.

So the drone couldn't take any risks, but she was sure that the moving object was not a beast.

Because the image showed a biped running, the people moving in the forest could not be seen clearly, so Su Sijin changed her target.

She spotted several more groups of people heading their way. "Finally, there's good news. I hope Zheng Jie, her mother, and her two children are among them."

As dawn was about to break, Su Sijin quietly returned to the camp, lay down with her clothes on, and after a while, the sound of her sleeping breathing could be heard.

Lu Changgong opened his deep eyes, stared at the figure with its back to him, and then closed his eyes in confusion.

When Su Sijin woke up, it was already noon.

Su Sijin sat up with a start, meeting Shen Tingyun's concerned eyes, "Tingyun, what time is it now?"

Shen Tingyun wiped the sweat from her forehead, "It's noon."

"It's so late, aren't you leaving today?" Su Sijin asked doubtfully. She had originally planned to persuade Tang Peng to wait there.

Shen Tingyun glanced at the two brothers who were whispering to each other, “Brother-in-law suggested to Tang Peng that we stay for a few days and wait for the scattered people to return.”

Su Sijin stood up hurriedly, not caring about the grass debris on her body, "Is anyone coming back today?"

The anxiety in Su Sijin's words attracted the attention of the two brothers. Lu Changming spoke first, "Uncle Xu came back with more than one hundred or nearly two hundred people, and he just arrived a while ago."

"Mother and the others are not here?" Su Sijin was more concerned about this.

"No, Grandmother, my second uncle, second aunt, fourth aunt, third aunt, and their families came back with Uncle Xu. Although they looked a bit disheveled, they weren't injured."

When Lu Changming said this, his expression was not right, but Su Sijin had no time to think about it at this moment, "Where is Mr. Jiang's family?"

Su Sijin's words made Lu Changgong, who seemed indifferent, suddenly look up at her. His face was still expressionless, but his hands hidden under his sleeves were clenched into fists.

The inky eyes were like the eye of a storm, brewing a hurricane.

Shen Tingyun tugged at Su Sijin's sleeve, and Su Sijin asked nervously, "Tingyun knows?"

Shen Tingyun rolled his eyes indecently, “I don’t know.”

Seeing that they all looked clueless, Su Sijin shook her head helplessly, "I'll go check it out and find out more about Mother, Second Brother, and Qiu Ling."

Over a cup of tea, "some people said, 'Look, Changming,' he went off into the woods."

If this is true, then the person being chased in the woods last night was most likely Lu Changming, but the person chasing him did not look like a masked man.

Because of the infrared feedback, the image of him holding a weapon and carrying a weapon on his back, it looks very similar...

Su Sijin shook her head, shaking off the premonition in her mind. "Tang Peng said he would stay here for six days. Second brother, please pay more attention to your eldest brother and Tingyun."

"No, I don't agree." Lu Changgong refused domineeringly.

"Do you have a better idea? I'll ask Uncle Xu to go look for it in the woods with me."

Looking for Xu Yongsi was already a concession on Su Sijin's part. If it weren't for the feelings of An, Lu, Changgong and the other two, she wouldn't want to bring any of them.

She has space and a drone, so she can search however she wants. It is convenient and efficient. Working with others is not only inconvenient, but also increases the workload.

*

"Oh oh oh..." This is a sense of ritual similar to happiness.

Lu Changming was hung on a tree branch and carried through the forest.

Lu Changming wanted to open his heavy eyes, but he couldn't.

His thoughts were always on Zheng Jie and Lu Qiuling. He hadn't been back for so long, and he wondered how they were doing. Was he afraid? He was so worried! He also didn't know how his elder brother and sister-in-law were doing.

Lu Changming fell asleep again with a worried look on his face.

“Ohhh…”

“Ohhh…”

Lu Changming woke up again to the sound of endless rituals.

But his hands and feet were still tied to the tree and he was hanging in the air.

He looked at the primitive people in front of him who were covering their vital parts with grass leaves or animal skins. They held up wooden swords and danced, sang and shouted around him.

It seems like they are celebrating the upcoming delicious meal.

Lu Changming knew that these were the cannibals his father had mentioned. The cannibals lived in the dense forest where no one dared to set foot, and they mainly ate meat.
