Chapter 78 I've discovered that you're still the one I love most.

A hint of surprise flashed in Fu Heng's eyes as he took the gift box, his fingers gently stroking the packaging. "Xin Yue, thank you for the best gift I could receive at the last moment of my birthday."

His voice trembled slightly, filled with barely concealed excitement.

Jiang Xinyue gave an awkward smile, "Just open it and take a look. As long as you don't mind."

Fu Heng carefully opened the gift box. Inside was an exquisite watch. The hands on the dial emitted a soft metallic luster, the leather strap was delicate, and the stitching along the edges was exquisite.

Fu Heng gently picked up the watch. The dial reflected a shimmering light under the lamp, which looked like stars in his eyes.

She designed this watch herself and spent a lot of money to have it custom-made.

Originally, she intended to give it to Bo Jingcheng as a gift to commemorate their fifth wedding anniversary.

Looking back now, it wasn't necessary.

Because Bo Jingcheng in his current state is simply not worthy of the gift she prepared with such care.

"Xinyue, this is too precious." Fu Heng looked up at Jiang Xinyue, his eyes filled with emotion and appreciation.

Jiang Xinyue's cheeks flushed slightly, her eyes sparkling: "I designed this myself. It's not actually very expensive, but I'm glad you don't mind."

For Fu Heng, whose net worth is in the hundreds of billions, such a mechanical watch is nothing to mention.

Upon hearing this, Fu Heng's eyes shone even brighter. He stared intently at Jiang Xinyue, as if trying to etch her image into his heart.

“Xinyue, you designed this yourself. It has extraordinary significance. How could I possibly dislike it? It is simply priceless.”

His voice rose slightly with excitement, and his movements became even gentler, as if he were holding a rare treasure.

Fu Heng carefully put on the watch, then looked up at Jiang Xinyue: "Xinyue, do you know, I've always been looking forward to receiving a special gift, and you've given me a surprise that far exceeded my expectations."

His voice was deep and gentle, with a slight, almost imperceptible tremor.

Seeing how much Fu Heng cherished this gift, Jiang Xinyue's initial unease gradually dissipated, replaced by a unique feeling.

She bit her lip slightly and said softly, "As long as you like it, that's fine. I was worried you might think the style is too ordinary."

Fu Heng quickly shook his head, "How could that be? This is the most unique and beautiful watch I've ever seen."

Jiang Xinyue felt so embarrassed by his praise that she didn't know what to say for a moment. Their eyes met, and they stared at each other, creating a somewhat ambiguous atmosphere.

Just then, the IV drip on the wall reached midnight and started to chime.

In an instant, the two of them snapped out of their daze and came to their senses.

“Xin Yue, I…” Fu Heng opened his mouth, about to say something.

At this moment, Jiang Xinyue immediately interrupted, "Um, Fu Heng, it's getting late, you should go back."

Fu Heng was suddenly interrupted by Jiang Xinyue, and the words he was about to say were swallowed back instantly. A trace of disappointment flashed in his eyes, but he quickly regained his gentle smile. "Alright, it is indeed getting late. You should get some rest too."

He stood up, but still couldn't bear to look away, as if he wanted to see Jiang Xinyue one more time.

Jiang Xinyue also got up and saw Fu Heng to the door.

"No need to see me off, I can go back by myself. You get some rest, see you tomorrow!"

"See you tomorrow!" Jiang Xinyue waved to Fu Heng and watched him leave.

Fu Heng gave Jiang Xinyue a deep look, then turned around and walked slowly toward the elevator.

Jiang Xinyue stood at the door, watching his back until Fu Heng walked into the elevator and the elevator doors slowly closed.

She slowly closed the door, leaned against it, and let out a long sigh of relief.

Back in the living room, Jiang Xinyue's gaze fell on the empty gift box on the coffee table. The image of Fu Heng's delighted expression when he saw the watch involuntarily flashed through her mind, and the corners of her mouth unconsciously turned up.

But soon, she frowned again, silently admonishing herself that she couldn't fall into a new relationship so quickly, after all, she had just gone through a failed marriage and the wounds in her heart had not yet fully healed.

Jiang Xinyue plopped down on the sofa, patted her rosy cheeks, and muttered to herself, "Jiang Xinyue, what are you thinking? Fu Heng is such a good person, how could you possibly covet him?"

At this moment, Fu Heng sat in the car, his gaze fixed on the watch on his wrist.

His fingers gently stroked the watch face, a faint smile on his face, as the car slowly moved forward in the night.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains and fell on Jiang Xinyue's face. She slowly opened her eyes.

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

"Knock knock knock..."

Jiang Xinyue got up, put on her slippers, and ran to open the door.

She thought it was her best friend Qin Ruolin, but she never expected it to be Bo Jingcheng.

"Why is it you? What are you doing here?" Jiang Xinyue didn't even think before trying to close the door.

Bo Jingcheng didn't give her the chance at all, his face ashen as he blocked the doorway.

"Jiang Xinyue, do you really not want to see me?"

Jiang Xinyue sneered, "There's no need for us to see each other again. You just need to wait for my divorce proceedings."

She filed for divorce, and the court will conclude the proceedings within three months.

These days were incredibly difficult for Jiang Xinyue.

Bo Jingcheng reached out and forcefully pushed against the door, his expression complex and unreadable. "Xinyue, I know I was wrong. Can you please not be so heartless?" His voice carried a hint of pleading, a stark contrast to his usual decisive and efficient image in the business world.

Jiang Xinyue felt a surge of disgust as she looked at Bo Jingcheng's demeanor. "Bo Jingcheng, what's the point of putting on this act? I remember how you treated me yesterday, even making me apologize to your white moonlight. What, you've already forgotten after just one night?"
