Jiang Xinyue had lost count of how many times she had thanked him. Fu Heng frowned. "Xinyue, actually, you don't need to thank me. As a normal man, I wouldn't stand idly by doing these things. Besides, Xuanxuan is your son."
Fu Heng knew that Jiang Xinyue would be sad if something happened to Bo Xuan.
Therefore, Fu Heng didn't want to see Jiang Xinyue sad, which is why he helped rescue Bo Xuan.
"I know that you and Hao Hao saved Xuanxuan. I really don't know how to thank you enough."
Upon hearing this, Fu Heng curled his thin lips into a smile: "If you insist on expressing your gratitude, then treat us to dinner tonight!"
“Okay, no problem, it’s my treat tonight.” Jiang Xinyue immediately smiled, as if only in this way could she feel better.
As evening fell, Jiang Xinyue led Fu Heng and Hao Hao to a cozy Chinese restaurant.
The restaurant was decorated with festive red lanterns and the walls were adorned with the character "福" (fortune). The waiters warmly led them to a window seat.
"I quite like the dishes at this Chinese restaurant. Please feel free to order whatever you like."
As she spoke, Jiang Xinyue pushed the menu in front of Fu Heng.
"Since you praise it so highly, it must really be good. I'll have to try it later."
As he spoke, Fu Heng opened the menu and glanced at the dishes.
Fu Heng's gaze swept quickly across the menu, and he tapped lightly with his finger. "This sweet and sour pork ribs should be a favorite among children. Hao Hao, what do you think?"
Hao Hao's eyes lit up immediately, and he nodded like a chick pecking at rice: "Yes, yes, I love sweet and sour pork ribs the most!"
Jiang Xinyue couldn't help but look at Fu Heng and ask, "What about you? Is there anything you want to eat? Their signature braised pork looks good, fatty but not greasy, and melts in your mouth."
"Then let's have one." Following Jiang Xinyue's recommendation, Fu Heng ordered a braised pork dish, along with some other signature dishes.
After dinner, Fu Heng took Jiang Xinyue back to her apartment, and then took Hao Hao back to the Fu family home.
Inside the villa, Fu Heng's cousin Zhou Qi, along with Fu Heng's parents, sat on the sofa watching TV and eating fruit after dinner.
Seeing Fu Heng return with Hao Hao, Zhou Qi quickly stood up, "Why are you so late?"
"Mom..." Hao Hao stepped forward and hugged Zhou Qi tightly. "My uncle and I did a heroic deed today!"
Upon hearing Hao Hao's words, Fu's father and mother exchanged a glance and then looked at Fu Heng.
Zhou Qi asked curiously, "Then tell your mother quickly, what did you and your uncle do?"
Hao Hao was so excited that he danced around and began to tell the story vividly: "Today at the amusement park, my uncle and I saw a child trafficker take away a child. He is Aunt Xinyue's son. His name is Xuanxuan. My uncle is very good. He subdued the bad guy in no time and then safely returned Xuanxuan to his mother."
Upon hearing this, Fu's mother's eyes were filled with worry. She hurriedly went to Fu Heng's side and looked him up and down: "Son, are you alright? You have to be more careful about this kind of thing in the future. Don't get yourself hurt just because you're trying to save someone."
Fu Heng smiled and reassured his mother, "Mom, don't worry, I know what I'm doing, I can handle it, and I'm not hurt."
Zhou Qi pulled Hao Hao down to sit and continued, "And then what happened?"
Hao Hao continued, "Later, Aunt Xinyue treated us to a very cozy Chinese restaurant to thank us. It was decorated with red lanterns and the character '福' (fortune/blessing), it was so beautiful! Uncle ordered sweet and sour pork ribs, they were so delicious!"
Mr. Fu picked up his teacup, took a sip, and said, "This is a good thing; it's only right to act bravely. But, Ah Heng, is the Aunt Xinyue that Hao Hao mentioned Jiang Xinyue from your company?"
Seeing his father's expression turn serious, Fu Heng nodded slightly, "Yes."
"You're still seeing her? Don't you know she's already married?" Mr. Fu's face turned pale with anger.
"So what? I admire Jiang Xinyue as a person, whether she's married or not is irrelevant."
Zhou Qi listened to their conversation and successfully grasped the key points.
"Aheng, the person you like, could it be Jiang Xinyue?"
Fu Heng was slightly taken aback, not expecting his cousin to ask such a direct question. He remained silent for a moment, a hint of unease flashing in his eyes, but he still said honestly, "Cousin, I do have different feelings for her, but that doesn't prevent me from doing the right thing. Saving Xuanxuan today was purely out of a sense of duty."
Mr. Fu frowned and said sternly, "Aheng, you're an adult now. You can't act on emotion. She's a married woman; she's not good enough for you. You should keep your distance from her. Do you want to be a mistress?"
“Dad, you’ve misunderstood. I never intended to interfere in someone else’s marriage. Besides, Jiang Xinyue deserves better. As for Bo Jingcheng, a heartless and arrogant man, he is the one who doesn’t deserve her.”
Fu Heng likes Jiang Xinyue and admires her personal charm. He doesn't care whether she has been married or has children.
Mr. Fu slammed his teacup down on the coffee table with a heavy thud, his anger intensifying: "You're still defending her! No matter what Bo Jingcheng is like, Jiang Xinyue is still Mrs. Bo. If word gets out that you're entangled with her, what will people say? Do you even care about the reputation of our Fu family?"
Fu's mother, standing to the side, also looked worried and gently advised, "Aheng, what your father said makes sense. When it comes to matters of the heart, you can't just look at your own feelings. You have to consider the bigger picture."
Zhou Qi glanced at the tense atmosphere and stepped in to smooth things over: "Aunt, Uncle, Aheng isn't a child anymore, he must know what's going on. And judging from what happened today, Jiang Xinyue is grateful and shouldn't be a bad person."
