Chapter 150 The Monsters Share the Meat

The monsters were speechless with surprise when they saw their king carefully cover Qiuqiu with a blanket and then wave them away.

Once outside, the monsters discussed what they had seen and heard that day.

"What's wrong with our king?"

"Who is that little girl?"

"I have never seen the King be so gentle with anyone before."

"Oh! Who knows? But we'll just do as His Majesty commands."

"Exactly. What if some blind fool accidentally eats that girl? Let's see how many lives it has to pay for that!"

Several drooling monsters touched their necks and then sucked the drool back in.

Chirp was sleeping soundly on the king's throne.

To prevent others from disturbing her, the king personally stood guard beside her, and eventually fell asleep.

In his dream, the king dreamed that the supreme god from his previous life defeated him, taught him, and in the end, he became the god's loyal fan.

A few tears streamed from the king's sleeping eyes.

The roosters in the mountains crowed, and one slept soundly until dawn.

She jumped down from the throne and saw the king sitting on the ground beside the throne, his face still wet with tears.

Chuchu wiped away his tears.

Is he crying? Is it because he's craving something like me and is crying because he didn't get to eat it?

He's quite pitiful, really. I imagine nobody here has much to eat.

[Never mind, never mind. Anyway, I have plenty of good food in my shrine. I'll just give them some as payment for their food here for the time being.]

When the king woke up, Chiu Chiu was gone.

He hurriedly ran out to look for Chiu Chiu.

As soon as I stepped outside, I saw a group of monsters surrounding a pot, eating meat with gusto.

The king wept uncontrollably, pointing angrily at them and saying, "You, you ate her?"

The monsters nodded, puzzled.

The king angrily grabbed a monster by the neck and said, "You actually ate her?"

The monster, struggling to breathe, offered a piece of meat to the king, saying, "Your Majesty, please have some..."

The king was so angry that his eyes turned red, and he was about to strangle the monster.

Just then, a small head peeked out from behind the monster next to it.

Chirp: "Your Majesty, there's still plenty of meat here. Are you angry that they didn't wait for you to eat it?"

The king was overjoyed to see Chiu Chiu and wept tears of joy.

"You...you're still alive?"

Chirp chirp said, bewildered, "Of course I, Chirp chirp, am alive. Otherwise, who would share the meat with them?"

The king happily picked up Chiu Chiu and said, "That's wonderful! It's so good to see you again!"

Chiu Chiu asked, puzzled, "Your Majesty, you're so kind to me, do we know each other from before?"

The king nervously put down Chiu Chiu and said, "No, I don't know you! How could I know you? Hehehe."

Chiu Chiu: "I was wondering why. I always felt like we'd met before, and we seemed pretty familiar. Looks like I was overthinking it."

The King said, "You're overthinking it. You're definitely overthinking it. I haven't left this mountain in all these years."

Chuchu: "Oh."

The king breathed a sigh of relief: thankfully, he had a different appearance in this life. She almost recognized him.

Chirp ladled a bowl of meat for the king and said, "This is for you. Don't be angry with them, okay?"

The king nodded, pointed at the monsters, and said, "I'm warning you. You must never try to harm the Chirp. Otherwise, I'll tear your entire clan apart!"

The monsters were so frightened that they knelt down and said, "Your Majesty, we dare not, we dare not!"

The king nodded in satisfaction.

Xiao Feng stood by with her hands in her pockets, watching with disdain in her eyes.

Xiao Feng: Hmph! You think you can eat your master? What a fool's dream!

Chirp patted the king on the shoulder and said, "Don't worry, they won't eat me. If they eat me, no one will give them such delicious meat anymore."

The monsters ate the meat, nodding frantically.

Your Majesty: "Then I'm relieved. You all eat, I'm going to take a nap."

Chirp chirp stretched out her little hand to say goodbye to the king.

The king, carrying the meat given to him by Qiuqiu, yawned and walked away.

Chiu Chiu quickly chatted with the monsters: "Hey, what fun things are there around here? I'll go check it out later."

The four-legged monster tore off a piece of meat, swallowed it, and a satisfied smile appeared on its face.

It chuckled and said, "There's nothing fun here. It's all barren mountains and bad waters, no fun at all!"

A monster reminded Chiu Chiu, "Let me tell you, you can go anywhere around here. But you just can't go to that big cave in the back mountain."

Chiu Chiu asked curiously, "Why?"

Monster: "I heard there's a terrifying monster inside. There are many seals around the cave to prevent it from escaping."

Chuchu laughed loudly, pointing at the monster and saying, "Hahaha! You're a monster, why are you afraid of monsters?!"

The monster was baffled by Chiu Chiu's laughter: "Afraid? Why aren't you afraid? What if it comes out and eats us all!"

Chirp: "Oh, I see! I'm really curious. What does it look like?"
