Chapter 43 Explain What's Going On With Your Hand

The moment the carriage door was opened, Li Shengyi saw Qin Songmo, dressed in purple official uniform, standing in front of the carriage.

Perhaps because of the recent stress from official duties, his brows were slightly furrowed, and there were wrinkles between his eyebrows.

Li Shengyi subconsciously reached out to touch the wrinkles between his eyebrows, but then she thought of the wound on the back of her hand. She hid her hands behind her back and tried to cover them with her wide sleeves.

Qin Songmo is not a fool.

He noticed all of her little movements.

In addition, Lu Xing's eyes were red all the time, which made his already frowning brows even deeper.

"I went to the Lin Mansion today. Was it fun?"

Li Shengyi is not good at lying. He originally wanted to say "it's fun", but when the words came out of his mouth, it became "it's not fun".

Qin Songmo raised his eyebrows slightly, and after reaching out to lift her down from the carriage, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure in his peripheral vision, "Changxiao, come out."

Meng Jiuan, who originally wanted to hide in the carriage for a while, suddenly froze in his seat.

He resigned himself to getting out of the carriage. Seeing that his friend's attention was always on Little Radish Head, he breathed a sigh of relief and jumped out of the carriage.

"I met Miss Yun Er today. She's really like the chickens that Uncle Chen raises in the kitchen. She always raises her head and is annoying."

"Dad, is His Royal Highness the Crown Prince getting married?"

In order to prevent Qin Songmo from continuing to ask about the conflict between her and Yun Rusi, Li Shengyi deliberately turned the topic to the prince's wedding.

Although Qin Songmo is thin, he is tall.

The pair of dark pupils moved slightly, and he saw the little hand wrapped in gauze hidden behind his little daughter.

With a frown on his face, he said in a deep voice, "Yes, in two months."

Li Shengyi uttered an 'ah', "Two months, that should be early winter, right?"

The osmanthus viewing banquet had passed a long time ago. Two months later, the prince got married to the daughter of the Grand Tutor.

In the eyes of others, the marriage between the two was a match made in heaven. The prince married Liu Hanyan to lay the foundation for his future ascension to the throne.

Li Shengyi calculated the time, and his face, which had been somewhat happy after seeing Qin Songmo, showed a bit of vicissitudes.

The locust plague in the northwest has not been resolved for a while now, and the burden has been on the Crown Prince. It hasn't been that long, so no one has anything to say.

[However, the Crown Prince, who celebrated his wedding two months later, still failed to successfully resolve the locust plague. The Emperor was furious. However, the Second Prince stepped forward and offered to take the Crown Prince's place in transporting disaster relief funds and food...]

[I'm afraid the Second Prince will take all the credit for this.]

A low sigh entered the minds of Qin Songmo and Meng Jiuan at the same time.

Both of them paused.

Li Shengyi couldn't hear the footsteps coming from beside him. He turned around and saw that the two of them were standing there motionless. He asked in confusion, "Dad, what are you doing there?"

Qin Songmo collected his thoughts.

He took a long step forward, came to her side and squatted down in front of her, "Are you interested in the Crown Prince's wedding?"

"I'll take you there then."

"But now, shouldn't you explain to me what's going on with your hand?"

Qin Songmo reached out and took his little daughter's hand, which had always been hidden in her long sleeves behind her back. When he saw her little hand wrapped in gauze, a look of hostility flashed between his drooping eyebrows.

"Who did it?"

Beneath the calm tone, there is a turbulent undercurrent.

Li Shengyi didn't want to look at her own hands at first. She wondered if the doctor treated her burns with extra seriousness because he knew she was the prime minister's daughter.

Finally, to prevent her from scratching, the doctor simply wrapped her little hands like Doraemon's hands.

The more she watched, the funnier it became. Li Shengyi turned her head away. In order to prevent herself from laughing out loud, she was trying so hard to hold back her laughter that her body was shaking slightly.

Qin Songmo saw this scene and thought that she had been wronged and hurt, and now that she was back by his side, she was venting her emotions and crying.

His heartstrings tightened as he reached out and pulled his little daughter into his arms, "Don't be afraid of your kindness. Tell Daddy who did this, huh?"

A deep voice sounded in my ears, and a gentle pat on my back.

Li Shengyi calmed down and looked up to meet the person in front of him. "The doctor gave me some medicine, and I don't feel any pain anymore."

"This matter is not over yet, Dad, please don't do it."

If the Scholars' Office discovered that Yun Rusi and I had a grudge, and my father impulsively killed Yun Rusi, not only would my head be in jeopardy, but my father's position, already precarious, would surely become even more precarious.

[The locust plague should be dealt with first, and the Crown Prince's wedding is also on the agenda.]

[Another day where I don't know how to remind my father of these things. I never thought that at such a young age, I, Li Shengyi, could become bald from excessive worry!]

When he thought that he might become bald and imagined that scene, Li Shengyi shuddered.

So scary!

Meng Jiuan stood beside the father and daughter, gently stroking his chin with his fingers.

All right.

He admitted it.

Perhaps he really wasn't very smart.

For example, he couldn't be as meticulous as Little Radish Head, and as terrifying as Qin Songmo.

With a light click of his tongue, Meng Jiuan saw his friend, who was holding his daughter to comfort her, suddenly raised his head and said, "Changxiao, come with me to the study later."

Meng Jiuan:!!!

He looked at Li Shengyi for help.

The latter pretended not to see his gaze, lowered her head, and raised the corners of her lips slightly.

May God bless you, Amitabha.

Meng Jiuan took a deep breath. He must have been possessed by a demon just now at the Lin Mansion, which was why he thought the little carrot head was so nice and cute.
