Chapter 201 Where am I supposed to find three million for you?
“Okay.” Huo Zhizhou agreed readily, his gaze unchanged. “Anyway, the one thing I have plenty of is money.”
He hung up after saying that.
Huo Sinian spoke first: "Wait a minute."
Huo Zhizhou's voice was light: "What is it?"
"I won't contact Su Anran anymore." Huo Sinian couldn't tell if he was telling the truth or not, but he stopped him just in case. "In exchange, you shouldn't interfere in my affairs either."
Huo Zhizhou hung up without even replying.
He had no interest in meddling in other people's affairs, and those words were only meant to warn Huo Sinian.
Now it seems that Huo Sinian clearly cared about Lin Tan's fate, yet he still let his parents arrange a fiancée for him. He was truly despicable.
Half an hour later.
He arrived at the waterside villa.
Su Anran was sitting on the living room sofa with an angry expression. Standing in front of her were the two bodyguards she had hired.
Upon seeing him arrive, Su Anran immediately stood up and began to complain: "I just asked them to help me move some things, but they refused and even said some rude things. What are you planning to do about this?"
Huo Zhizhou swept his cold gaze across the area.
The two bodyguards' legs were trembling.
"How do you plan to handle this?" Huo Zhizhou asked.
"Make them slap themselves in the face and kneel down to apologize to me." Su Anran is no longer pretending at all; she does everything according to her own personality.
"I only have an employer-employee relationship with them," Huo Zhizhou said calmly. "I have no right to demand that they do these things."
Su Anran: "They will do it as long as you say so."
Huo Zhizhou looked at her with a somewhat oppressive air.
Su Anran felt a little scared, but she boldly said, "Or are you just saying you'll take care of me? You're not even willing to help me get revenge."
"Don't you know why they said those things?" Huo Zhizhou didn't directly expose him.
Su Anran felt a sudden pang of panic for no apparent reason.
What did he mean by that?
Does it refer to the words they said, or to their insults towards her?
"I'm not saying things out loud to save you face," Huo Zhizhou said, moving closer to her. "But that doesn't mean I don't know anything."
"Wh...what do you mean?" Su Anran refused to admit it until the very end.
"Live your life well, and you'll always have what you have now," Huo Zhizhou reminded him. "But if you overreach and have too many ideas, it's not impossible for things to go wrong."
"You want to break your promise?" Su Anran's heart tightened suddenly.
"Do you know who Huo Sinian is?" Huo Zhizhou didn't answer her directly, but instead asked her this question.
Su Anran's face turned pale.
He knew it after all.
"Those who tried to profit from him ended up getting skinned alive." Huo Zhizhou remained calm, his voice gentle. "Why do you think he helped you?"
Su Anran wanted to say it was because he didn't want you to have an easy time.
But Huo Zhizhou's expression made her feel that things weren't so simple.
“He has a friend who is in poor health and needs a heart transplant,” Huo Zhizhou said. “They had been looking for a suitable donor, but recently they suddenly stopped.”
Su Anran trembled in fright: "You mean..."
Huo Zhizhou: "I'm just telling you about him, that's all."
Su Anran forcibly suppressed the fear in her heart.
If Huo Sinian really only helped her because her heart was a match for his friend, what will she do after that?
Two bodyguards: "!"
When did their boss ask for this person's heart?
Second Young Master, don't make things up!
"You can't let him take my heart." Su Anran clung to his arm, her fear and panic reaching their peak. "I'm your benefactor, protecting your benefactor is what you should do!"
“Under normal circumstances, I can.” Huo Zhizhou calmly withdrew his arm. “But if you accidentally give him your heart while chatting with him, I can’t help you even if I wanted to.”
Su Anran recalled what had happened before.
They talked about very ordinary things.
But when he thought about how this person was a cunning and scheming individual, he worried that he had fallen into a trap.
"Have you figured out how to handle this?" Huo Zhizhou changed the subject.
"It's fine once it's changed." Su Anran dared not do anything reckless again.
Huo Zhizhou looked at the two people standing ramrod straight: "Did you hear that?"
The two bodyguards continued their act: "We did nothing wrong, why are you replacing us?"
"You want me to call Huo Sinian and have him come and pick up the person?" Huo Zhizhou exposed him without hesitation, showing no respect whatsoever.
Two bodyguards: "!"
They looked horrified.
How did the second young master know they were the boss's men?
Despite their doubts, they didn't ask any further questions and left quite naturally.
"The matter is resolved." Huo Zhizhou looked at Su Anran. "You should get some rest. I'm going back now."
Su Anran asked, "Aren't you staying?"
Huo Zhizhou pursed his lips and remained silent.
Su Anran tried to justify herself: "I'm a little scared. I'm worried that Huo Sinian's people will come and take my heart tonight."
"This is a society governed by the rule of law. Huo Sinian is not a lawless madman." Huo Zhizhou said calmly, ignoring the fear on her face. "If you don't contact him, none of those things will happen."
Su Anran wanted to say something more.
Huo Zhizhou gave a few words of instruction to the servants and then left.
As she watched his car drive further and further away, Su Anran's hands, hanging at her sides, clenched tighter and tighter, her chest filled with suppressed emotions.
She wasn't unaware of Huo Zhizhou's increasingly perfunctory attitude towards her. He used to go along with all her emotions and thoughts, but now he wouldn't even stay with her when she was scared.
He clearly said he would take care of her.
But they accomplished nothing.
The more you think about it, the more negative emotions well up in your eyes.
The buzzing of her phone suddenly rang out. In a bad mood, she didn't intend to answer, but her brow furrowed when she saw who was calling.
She went back to her bedroom to answer the phone: "Dr. Yin?"
"Ms. Su," a young man's voice came from the other end of the line, his tone light and cheerful, "Long time no see."
Su Anran had a bad feeling: "Did you need something?"
After the surgery, we went our separate ways.
Sudden contact is unlikely to be a good thing.
"Someone came to me yesterday and asked if I had treated a woman named Su Anran." The young doctor spoke slowly. "I said I didn't remember and had to think about it. Do you think it's better for me to remember or not?"
"Just answer as you said you would," Su Anran said, enunciating each word clearly.
"They said they'd give me 500,000," Dr. Yin said casually. "If they can provide proof that they've treated you, they could give me even more."
Su Anran: "Who?"
Dr. Yin: "It's not convenient to disclose, but I can tell you it's a young man."
Su Anran was a little angry: "Don't forget what you promised back then."
"Things are different now. I never knew that the scar treatment I did for you would cause so much trouble." Dr. Yin's voice came through the phone. "To avoid causing yourself any more trouble, it's best to..."
"Name your price!" Su Anran took a deep breath.
Dr. Yin: "Three million."
Su Anran: "Where am I supposed to find three million for you!"
Dr. Yin: "This is your business and has nothing to do with me. If there is no problem, I will have to tell the truth if someone asks me about it later."
