Chapter 1 Doing and Talking
Jiang Ruan wondered if all men wanted to have a stable home life while having affairs on the side.
But when this kind of thing happened to her, she absolutely refused to agree to it.
Everyone in Jingzhou knows that Jiang Ruan, the fallen heiress, is the darling of the second young master of the Huo family.
He gave her what she wanted.
He gave her what she wanted.
My home is filled with limited edition items from major brands; jewelry, bags, and watches cover several walls, and the garage is overflowing with supercars.
Even at banquets, Huo Zhizhou stayed by her side every step of the way, afraid that she might bump into something or suffer any injustice.
Such favoritism is the envy of others.
Even Jiang Ruan almost thought that Huo Zhizhou was truly in love with her.
"Mom," the cute little boy rubbed his sleepy eyes and asked in a soft, sweet voice, "Are you unhappy today?"
Jiang Ruan tucked the blanket around him, her eyes full of tenderness: "No."
The little boy climbed out of bed, and under her questioning gaze, he rushed over and hugged her: "Hug me."
Jiang Ruan paused for a moment.
"I don't know why you're unhappy, but no matter what happens, I will always love you." The little boy tightened his grip on her, trying to transfer his warmth to her.
Jiang Ruan smiled gently and patted his back.
I now have the confidence to question certain things.
It's 11 p.m.
Jiang Ruan had already put the child to sleep.
She sat in the living room and checked the time again and again. When the clock struck 11:40, she finally heard the door open.
Huo Zhizhou walked in wearing a clean white shirt, with a custom-made black suit draped over his arm. He looked refined and elegant, with perfect features that were flawless.
He was like God's favorite, receiving all the special treatment.
"Why aren't you asleep yet?" He came to her side as usual, stretched out his long arm and hugged her, his hand wandering inside her clothes to caress her soft waist.
Jiang Ruan couldn't resist his skillful advances and pulled his hand out of her clothes: "Wait a minute, I have something to tell you."
"We'll talk as we do it." Huo Zhizhou worked gently.
Jiang Ruan refused: "No."
"Okay." Huo Zhizhou kissed her full, rosy lips.
Jiang Ruan thought of the lipstick mark on her shirt and those photos, and her stomach suddenly churned. She didn't know where the strength came from, but she pushed the person away!
"What's wrong?" Huo Zhizhou's handsome brows furrowed slightly, puzzled by her resistance to intimacy.
Jiang Ruan's heart pounded wildly because of his oppressive presence.
After a two-second silence.
She mustered her courage and met his gaze: "I saw the photos of you and Su Anran spending the night together at the Waterside Villa."
"Mmm." Huo Zhizhou was still holding her.
Jiang Ruanxin felt a pang of hurt.
Aren't you going to offer any explanation?
"Now that you know, there's something I'd like to discuss with you," Huo Zhizhou said slowly in a low voice.
Jiang Ruan suppressed her emotions and said, "Go ahead."
"I want you to accept her existence." Huo Zhizhou looked at her and stated his purpose directly, "She is very important to me."
Jiang Ruan's eyes were filled with disbelief.
“As long as you agree, you will always be Mrs. Huo, and no one can shake your position,” Huo Zhizhou continued to tell her.
"Do you even know what you're saying?" Jiang Ruan, whose usually docile nature had turned sour, lost her temper.
Su Anran was her college classmate and best friend.
They later fell out over some things.
Now.
Her husband actually wanted her to "share a husband" with her!
Huo Zhizhou's emotions were hard to gauge: "I understand perfectly well."
"I could never agree to such an absurd request." Jiang Ruan looked at him again. "No normal person would do that."
"Whether it's true or not is not important. Whether you agree or not, I will support her for the rest of my life." Huo Zhizhou's words were unquestionable, and his attitude was very assertive. "I'm telling you this only because you are the lady of this house, and you should know this."
Jiang Ruan's slender, fair hands gradually clenched, her words laced with sarcasm: "Should I thank you?"
"I don't mind if you thank me." Huo Zhizhou is quite good at being annoying.
Jiang Ruanqi's chest heaved.
She used to think Huo Zhizhou was humble and polite, and that he was resourceful but had a bottom line. Now that the disguise has been torn away, she knows what humanity is.
"Huo Zhizhou." Jiang Ruan decided to give him another chance.
He looked up at her, calm and collected: "Go on."
"Are you absolutely determined to keep her here, even if I disagree, hate her, or even despise her, you won't change your mind?" Jiang Ruan asked seriously.
She had already thought it through; as long as he said no, she could forgive everything that had just happened.
But things often don't go as planned.
Under her stubborn and unyielding gaze, Huo Zhizhou said, word by word, "Yes."
Jiang Ruan's heart was suddenly stabbed.
My chest is throbbing with pain.
“No one can change this decision,” Huo Zhizhou added.
“If that’s the case, let’s get a divorce.” Jiang Ruan couldn’t accept his idea and couldn’t be with him anymore. “You’ve already decided to support her for the rest of her life, so I’ll give her the position of Mrs. Huo.”
In other marital relationships, the parents-in-law can make the decision.
However, Huo's parents had always opposed Huo Zhizhou marrying her.
They felt that Huo Zhizhou should marry someone of equal social standing. Although her family had been wealthy before, they were worlds apart from Huo Zhizhou's powerful and influential family in Jingzhou.
What's more, the company went bankrupt, and Dad ran away with the money.
She then seemed even less "valuable".
"Have you thought it through?" Huo Zhizhou's eyes were dark.
Loyalty is Jiang Ruan's bottom line in her marriage: "I've thought it through very clearly."
Huo Zhizhou stared at her intently.
I never imagined that someone who was always obedient and compliant would be so disobedient one day.
"Okay," he agreed quickly.
Jiang Ruan felt a little upset by his straightforward attitude, and she knew in her heart that she had never truly entered his heart after so many years of marriage.
His kindness towards me was probably just a passing fancy.
Thinking about all this, she felt increasingly depressed and went upstairs to get the divorce agreement she had prepared in advance.
She should have known this much earlier.
Three months ago, she smelled a woman's perfume on him. When she asked him about it, he said he might have accidentally gotten it on the plane.
She believed it.
In retrospect, the airplane was just a pretext.
Su Anran returned to China three months ago, so judging by the time, she should have been with him.
"This is the divorce agreement. Take a look." Jiang Ruan signed the document in front of him and handed it to him. "If there are no problems, sign it and apply for divorce tomorrow."
"You should understand what divorce means to you," Huo Zhizhou said bluntly.
Jiang Ruan's hand gradually tightened: "I don't need you to remind me."
"We've been married for five years, and you haven't worked." Huo Zhizhou picked up the divorce papers, his words cruel. "How are you going to pay for your mother's expensive medical bills? Have you thought about that?"
As he said this, he opened the divorce agreement.
When Huo Zhizhou saw the agreement that the marital property would be divided equally and that she would have custody of the child, his scrutinizing gaze fell on her: "You certainly have the audacity to dream."
