Chapter 145 Property Transfer Agreement
"I lived there with her for a while." Jiang Chenren's lie came out so easily. "Otherwise, why do you think I would know about that place, and even know you could get in?"
Jiang Ruan had some doubts.
Jiang Chenren opened the door and urged her, "Hurry up."
Jiang Ruan reached out her hand: "Give me back my phone first so I can send Aunt Xu a message. She'll definitely worry if I suddenly hang up on her."
"When you suddenly hung up on me, didn't you think I'd be worried?" Jiang Chenren's shamelessness knows no bounds.
Jiang Ruan: "..."
Just as she was about to say something to distract him, the elevator doors suddenly opened, and Si Ning, wearing a dark short-sleeved shirt, walked out. Her short, wispy hair made her look exceptionally handsome.
Seeing her looking at her, Si Ning smiled and gave her a wink.
Jiang Chenren subconsciously looked in the direction of the gaze.
"If I remember correctly, this phone belongs to Jiang Ruan." Si Ning casually took the phone from Jiang Chenren's hand and played with it for a moment. "How did it end up in your hands?"
"Give it back to me!" Jiang Chenren reached out to snatch it.
The cell phone is the only thing that can make Jiang Ruan obey. If it falls back into her hands, she definitely won't go to open the door with him, and he won't be able to get the things inside.
Si Ning easily dodged and placed the phone in Jiang Ruan's hand: "Keep it safe."
Jiang Ruan felt a slight weight lifted from her heart: "Thank you."
Jiang Chenren's face turned ashen, and he was extremely dissatisfied with the sudden appearance of Si Ning: "Who are you?"
“Si Ning, an ordinary person with no reputation.” Si Ning leaned on Jiang Ruan’s shoulder with one hand, as if to support her. “If you have any objections to my behavior just now, I can spar with you for a bit.”
Jiang Chenren's breath suddenly became heavy.
Where did this brat get to know all these lunatics?
"You can leave now," Jiang Ruan said, dismissing him. "I won't go with you, and there's nothing of yours inside."
“If you don’t go, I’ll have someone set a fire,” Jiang Chenren threatened, making sure Jiang Ruan hadn’t had a chance to record the conversation after getting the phone. “I’ll burn everything inside to ashes.”
"Arson is illegal," Jiang Ruan tried to wake him up.
"I'll give you two days to think it over." Jiang Chenren didn't seem to be joking anymore. He threw out the last sentence and left. "If you don't get a satisfactory answer, you'll see a wasteland."
A hint of seriousness flashed across Jiang Ruan's brows.
The phone rang at that moment.
Upon seeing that it was Xu Jiu calling, she invited Si Ning inside, closed the door, and then answered the phone: "Aunt Xu."
Xu Jiu: "Why did the phone suddenly hang up?"
“My dad took it from me; he wanted to force me to open the door for him.” Jiang Ruan didn’t hide anything; she knew too little about her mother. “But she’s gone now.”
"Don't open it for him, it's full of your mother's things," Xu Jiu warned. "Maybe the billions your mother left you are in there."
Jiang Ruan: "..."
If he really is inside.
All she could say was that her mother was incredibly carefree.
Xu Jiu gave her some more instructions before the two ended the call.
Jiang Ruan poured Si Ning a glass of water and thanked her again for what had just happened: "Thank you for earlier. If it weren't for you, I'd probably be being threatened by my dad and forced to go downstairs right now."
"You're too kind," Si Ning smiled.
"You came here today because you need to see me, right?" Jiang Ruan asked proactively. She didn't have much contact with Si Ning, and she couldn't very well ask her to go shopping with her like Su Zhu did.
“A little.” Si Ning interlaced her fingers in front of her. “When I was investigating Su Anran, I unexpectedly discovered that she went to the same school as you. I wanted to ask her some questions.”
Jiang Ruan was somewhat surprised, but still cooperated: "Go ahead."
"What kind of person is she?" Si Ning asked.
"She has a strong ability to adapt." Jiang Ruan didn't know how to answer, so she could only focus on the key points: "She can integrate into any environment as quickly as possible if she wants to."
Si Ning then asked, "Can you swim?"
Jiang Ruan: "I'm not sure."
Si Ning: "Okay, sorry to bother you."
Jiang Ruan: "?"
Are you just asking these few questions?
"Why don't you add me on WeChat?" She had a good impression of Si Ning, and after several interactions, she felt that Si Ning was a very nice person. "If you have any questions later, you can just ask me on the screen, which will save you the trouble of making a trip."
“Okay.” Si Ning exchanged contact information with her.
After seeing Si Ning off, Jiang Ruan called Su Zhu, asking her to accompany her somewhere if she had time.
Su Zhu arrived immediately, without wasting a second.
Half an hour later.
Following the address Xu Jiu gave her, Jiang Ruan arrived at Section 3 of Jingzhou Avenue. As she turned into the villa area from the intersection, her mind went blank for a moment.
To be honest, she hadn't expected that the place Aunt Xu mentioned was in a villa area...
Her mother must have been very rich.
"We've arrived at number six." Su Zhu parked the car in front of villa number six, glancing at the tightly closed gate. "Are you sure this is your mother's house?"
Jiang Ruan: "Aunt Xu said yes."
Su Zhu: "That's it!"
The two got out of the car together.
She went to the door and pressed a switch. Before she could react, a mechanical voice sounded: "Welcome home, little master."
Then the villa's door opened, revealing a simple living room.
"My goodness, Aunt Jiang was really rich back then," Su Zhu exclaimed. "If I had known about this house, why would you have bothered renting it? You could have just moved in."
"I didn't expect it either..." Jiang Ruan really didn't expect it.
Her mother rarely talked about the past, and she didn't ask too many questions.
Aunt Xu didn't know she was renting a place and didn't come back, so she didn't mention it.
This is truly a perfect misunderstanding.
"Come on, let's go inside and see what it's like." Su Zhu pulled her inside, her heart filled with extreme curiosity.
Jiang Ruan went in with her.
Looking at the renovation, which, though a bit old, still looked modern after more than twenty years, she felt more and more that what Aunt Xu had said was true.
My mother is very mysterious.
My mother is very rich.
Mom... is having a bit of bad luck.
The villa has four floors in total. The basement is used for storage and sports facilities, while the remaining three floors are regular rooms.
She went up the stairs, walked around the second floor, and then went straight to the third floor. Besides two bedrooms, there was only a study on the third floor. She didn't know why she subconsciously walked towards the study.
She placed her hand on the doorknob.
Because it hasn't been cleaned for years, a layer of dust has accumulated on it.
With a snap.
A slight sound was heard, and she opened the study door.
Besides the bookshelves filled with books, all that comes into view are a few mahogany chairs and a desk with papers and documents on it.
She subconsciously walked over and picked up one of the documents. It was dusty and yellowed from the passage of time, but the words "Property Transfer Agreement" on the cover were still very clear.
Property transfer?
A few doubts crossed Jiang Ruan's mind.
She glanced at it and saw that her mother had transferred all her assets to her, with the signing date being... July 16th.
Wasn't that the day Mom had her accident?
