Chapter 349 Jiang Ruan Goes to the Qin Family

Chapter 349 Jiang Ruan Goes to the Qin Family

Over the next two days, Sui Sui stayed with Huo Zhizhou, while Jiang Ruan and Jiang An visited several elders.

Before she knew it, it was the fifth day of the Lunar New Year. With most of the things she needed to do done done, Jiang Ruan finally had some free time.

Watching the sun gradually rise.

Jiang Ruan recalled the words Li Zhishen had said to her that night.

"What are you thinking about?" Jiang An came to her side.

“I’m thinking about whether to go to the Qin family to see Mr. Qin.” Jiang Ruan looked at her as she said this, her words direct and without beating around the bush, “He said he had fallen down on New Year’s Eve.”

Before serving the dishes on New Year's Eve.

My mother specifically instructed me not to put scallions in some dishes.

Later she discovered that it was Mr. Qin who didn't eat scallions.

If it weren't for this, she wouldn't have spoken so directly.

"Go if you want." Jiang An's mood remained unchanged. "If we go there around this time, we should be able to catch lunch."

Jiang Ruan smiled and said, "You make it sound like I'm going there to freeload a meal."

Jiang An: "I can mooch a meal from the Qin family."

Jiang Ruan paused for a moment.

Jiang An ruffled her hair: "Go ahead, take Mo Mo and Tang Bai with you."

Jiang Ruan asked one more question: "And you?"

“I won’t go.” Jiang An’s face was calm, and there was no emotional fluctuation in his eyes. “Guests are guests, and I can care about them, but apart from that, I’m just a stranger to them.”

Jiang Ruan understood.

She reached out and hugged her.

“You really should go, both for your own sake and for your personal reasons.” Jiang An spoke gently and rationally. “Everyone in the industry knows about your relationship with the Qin family. If you don’t go on such an important holiday, people will inevitably gossip about you.”

We haven't gotten anything yet, so we have to be extremely cautious about everything.

Jiang Ruan said "okay".

She arrived at the Qin family home at around 11 a.m.

Grandpa Qin was overjoyed to see her, and his usual stern and serious demeanor vanished completely.

"These are gifts for you." Jiang Ruan took the things from Mo Mo and Tang Bai's hands, her words respectful yet caring. "I didn't know what you liked, so I bought a little of everything."

"Why would you buy something at your own home?" Grandpa Qin really liked Jiang Ruan now. "Grandpa is very happy that you can come back."

Jiang Ruan smiled but didn't say anything.

If he had said that to his mother back then, things would have been very different.

"How is your leg?" she changed the subject.

"It's all better now." Grandpa Qin said, standing up and walking around her twice without even taking his cane. "Look..."

"You forgot what the doctor just told you?" Qin Mo suddenly appeared, looking more imposing in his dark coat, his face as cold as an unyielding iceberg. "You need a cane to walk."

Old Master Qin glared at him.

Qin Mo said calmly, "It won't do any good if you glare at me."

Old Master Qin's anger flared up immediately.

That brat!

Was it intentional?

"He has some bone damage, and the doctor advised him to use a cane to help him walk from now on, and it's best not to walk directly," Qin Mo chatted with Jiang Ruan, "otherwise it could easily aggravate the injury."

Jiang Ruan helped him up, saying, "Please sit down first."

"Don't listen to this kid, it's not that serious." Old Master Qin didn't want Jiang Ruan to worry too much. "He's making a big deal out of nothing with just a little bump and bruise. He's just being dramatic."

“He cares about you too,” Jiang Ruan said.

Old Master Qin gave Qin Mo a disapproving look before continuing, "For your sake, I won't hold it against him."

In the time that followed.

Jiang Ruan sat there chatting with Grandpa Qin.

They started by talking about interesting things in the industry, then gradually turned to everyday family matters, and finally talked about Jiang An.

This was the second time that Grandpa Qin had talked to her about her mother's youth. A hint of emotion appeared in his serious expression: "You have no idea how outstanding your mother was back then..."

He talked about how his mother excelled in her studies from a young age, a genius among geniuses.

The only person she could spar with was Li Zhishen.

She also mentioned that she was decisive, loyal to her friends, and caring towards her family.

As he spoke, his emotions became increasingly complex, and he recounted most of what had happened: "Until later I found out she was dating Li Zhishen..."

Hearing this...

Qin Mo stood up and left.

He can listen to some things without any problem, but it's inappropriate for him to hear too much about his aunt's past relationships.

As he walked out of the courtyard where Old Master Qin lived alone, he was stopped by Qin Muchi as soon as he crossed the covered walkway: "Qin Mo."

Qin Mo's voice was calm: "Second Uncle."

"Where's your grandfather?" Qin Muchi asked casually.

"I was chatting with Jiang Ruan in the courtyard," Qin Mo said, his narrow eyes showing no emotion as he looked over. "Did you need to see him?"

Qin Muchi frowned slightly.

He frowned: "Jiang Ruan is here?"

Qin Mo: "Mm."

Qin Muchi became annoyed: "What is she doing here?"

Qin Mo's words were simple: "See Grandpa."

Qin Mu scoffed lightly; even a dog wouldn't believe such a thing.

Who would believe it if I told you that I hadn't been in contact with someone for over twenty years, and we developed such a deep bond after only knowing each other for a few months?

He didn't go looking for trouble right away, but waited until lunchtime to start causing trouble.

No.

It was noon soon.

Grandpa Qin took Jiang Ruan out to eat.

Most of the Qin family members were present, including the two uncles, the two aunts, and Qin Luofeng. When they saw her, a hint of surprise flashed in everyone's eyes, and some even stared at her for several seconds.

In their view, Qin An and the old man had irreconcilable conflicts, so she couldn't possibly let Jiang Ruan come.

"Ruan Ruan is here." Qin Muchuan was the first to react, greeting her with a smile. "Why didn't you tell your uncle? Where's your mother? Has she arrived yet?"

Jiang Ruan: "No."

Qin Muchuan asked deliberately, "Why didn't you invite her to come along?"

These words were spoken.

The atmosphere at the dinner table suddenly became strange.

Old Master Qin's face also turned cold.

This is a classic case of bringing up the very thing that shouldn't be brought up.

"I didn't mean anything by it." Qin Muchuan spoke naturally, giving the impression of a kind and easygoing elder. "On New Year's Eve, your grandfather didn't eat at home for the reunion dinner; he insisted on going to your place. I thought..."

He stopped abruptly at this point.

But everyone knew what he meant.

"Let's eat," Old Master Qin said sternly.

No one dared to say anything more.

Time passed by, bit by bit.

About ten minutes.

Seeing that no one seemed inclined to target Jiang Ruan, Qin Muchi grew restless and said, "Dad."

Old Master Qin looked up at him.

Qin Muchi glanced at Jiang Ruan and said directly, "You went to Qin An's for dinner on New Year's Eve, and Jiang Ruan came to see you again today. Are you thinking of giving Qin An a copy when you make your will?"

"What nonsense are you spouting!" It was Qin Muchuan who spoke.

Qin Mo raised his eyes, exuding an aura of pressure.

Qin Muchi, ever nonchalant, said, "I didn't say anything wrong. Aren't you worried that Dad will give his things to Qin An?"

"Dad's still healthy, why are you saying all this?" Qin Muchuan said seriously. "You don't manage your affairs properly every day, and you're just talking nonsense here."
