Chapter 558 Finding Qin Mo
"So what do you plan to do?" Qin Muchuan asked him. "Don't tell me you're going to turn yourself in or let things take their course. If you did that, you wouldn't be my son!"
Qin Luofeng opened his mouth.
I don't know how to say it.
Just then.
A voice came from inside the room.
"What do you mean by turning yourself in?" Yu Peiyun came out, clearly having just woken up from her lunch break, her eyes full of confusion and bewilderment. "What are you all talking about?"
"Ask him!" Qin Muchuan turned his eyes away angrily.
Yu Peiyun sat down on the sofa, her eyes questioning him about what had happened.
"It's nothing." Qin Luofeng didn't want to talk about it and changed the subject. "Why did you get up? Did our conversation disturb you?"
"Stop changing the subject." Yu Peiyun genuinely cared about Qin Luofeng, and her doting tone was undisguised. "Quickly tell me what you two were talking about, and what's this about your dad turning himself in?"
Qin Luofeng remained silent.
Yu Peiyun poked him: "You child, are you trying to drive me crazy?"
"He wants to take responsibility for Qin An's accident," Qin Muchuan said. "He hasn't been very proactive in handling it lately."
Yu Peiyun frowned.
She stared at him: "Is that so?"
“This is the best option.” Qin Luofeng’s mood was somewhat heavy, and he was not as relaxed as he appeared. “If we let them investigate further, we might end up like Li Chengxuan.”
Those were the days.
It's something he doesn't want.
If he turns himself in, his aunt is fine now anyway, and his brother has said he'll find him a lawyer. He'll be out in a few years at most.
"No way!" Yu Peiyun rejected the idea without even thinking, her eyes filled with anger as she looked at him. "If you're going to turn yourself in, you'll make me so angry I'll die first."
Qin Luofeng's eyebrows and eyes were complicated.
“You’re my only caring child. If something happens to you, I don’t want to live anymore.” Yu Peiyun held his hand, her face very serious. “Listen to your father about this. Don’t do anything rash.”
“Isn’t there still my brother?” Qin Luofeng wasn’t in a good mood. “He’s much more outstanding than me, and he’s better able to take care of the Qin family and you all.”
"Don't you know what kind of person your brother is?" Qin Muchuan said, his tone serious. "With his current behavior, it's a miracle he hasn't sold us out, let alone taken care of us."
“Your brother…” Yu Peiyun looked troubled as she said this.
She loves both children, since they are both her own.
But Qin Mo was too cold.
They treated them like ordinary relatives.
“I don’t know if it’s because he grew up with your grandfather since he was little, but he’s not as close to us as you are,” Yu Peiyun said with mixed feelings. “He never talks to us and always tries to solve problems on his own. Sometimes I don’t know how to get along with him.”
"Brother is just more independent." Qin Luofeng admired him.
“In short, you can’t turn yourself in. What’s the point of living? Isn’t it to live a comfortable life?” Yu Peiyun said. “So many years have passed since what happened back then, so don’t think about it anymore.”
"Huo Zhizhou will find out." That's what Qin Luofeng was afraid of.
Jiang Ruan is willing to take a gamble.
He can also handle things between Li Zhishen and his aunt.
Only Huo Zhizhou is a man with many tricks up his sleeve and a deep mind. Even his brother might not be his match, let alone him.
"We'll wait until the results are found before we talk about it," Yu Peiyun reassured her. "In short, listen to your mother."
Qin Luofeng remained silent.
Yu Peiyun threatened, "If you don't take proactive measures, I'll die in front of you."
"Mom." Qin Luofeng frowned.
"It's settled then. You and your father should discuss a plan. I'm going out for a bit." Yu Peiyun couldn't just stand by and watch her child get into trouble. "Don't let me hear those words again."
Qin Luofeng sighed: "I understand."
Yu Peiyun patted his shoulder, exchanged a glance with Qin Muchuan, and then left.
After getting in the car, she told the driver, "Go find Qin Mo."
Driver: "Yes, ma'am."
An hour later.
When Yu Peiyun arrived at Qin Mo's place, she knocked on the door but no one answered, so she called him.
"mom."
Where are you?
"At home." Qin Mo's voice was indifferent and flat.
“I’m outside your door.” Yu Peiyun stared at the door in front of her. “Open the door.”
Qin Mo opened it.
The area outside the door was empty.
His dark eyes swept around: "It's open. Where are you?"
Yu Peiyun frowned slightly: "You don't live on Xiamen Island?"
Qin Mo fell silent.
After a while.
He closed the door, sat down on the sofa, and spoke again: "I haven't lived there for a year."
That section of road was too congested.
He moved away a long time ago.
I've also told them that.
"So where do you live now?" Yu Peiyun knew she was in the wrong and spoke somewhat guiltily, "Mom has been too busy these past year or two, and her memory is getting worse and worse, so she doesn't remember some things..."
"Yufu Bay." Qin Mo said three words and didn't let her continue.
"Okay." Yu Peiyun's face flushed slightly, and she coughed lightly. "Are you home now? I'd like to come over and talk to you about something."
Qin Mo: "..."
Qin Mo knew she rarely took his words to heart, but to forget something so soon after saying it was really hard to know what to say.
"Yes, let me know when you arrive, and I'll have someone come pick you up."
"good."
Ten minutes later.
Yu Peiyun has arrived.
Looking at Qin Mo's new surroundings, she said warmly, "You moved here without telling your mother. Are you getting used to living here? Won't it be lonely living alone?"
"It's alright." Qin Mo didn't explain; he had already gotten used to this kind of life.
His relationship with them was already weak. He used to visit them every week after seeing his grandfather, but later he found that they didn't care whether he went or not, so he stopped doing it for nothing.
Compared to him.
They care more about Luo Feng.
"Why don't you move back home?" Yu Peiyun suggested, trying to find something to talk about. "It's more lively when the whole family lives together."
"It's inconvenient for me to go to work." Qin Mo's voice was calm, and his expression was also indifferent.
Yu Peiyun said "okay".
Having not spent time with Qin Mo for so long, she was somewhat at a loss for what to do.
"What do you want to see me about?" Qin Mo knew they wouldn't come without a reason, so he simply asked directly.
"It's nothing," Yu Peiyun said without explaining, "I just came to see you."
Qin Mo remained unmoved and said calmly, "I have to go out to talk to someone in half an hour, so I may not have much time to spend with you. It would be better if you just told me what you need to say."
"Oh, I see." Yu Peiyun's mind raced as she considered how best to approach him. "I have something I'd like to discuss with you, but I wasn't sure if it would be convenient for you."
"Please go ahead," Qin Mo replied politely.
This kind of relationship doesn't resemble that of a mother and son at all.
Yu Peiyun pursed her lips, and after thinking it over, she said, "You know about your aunt's coma, right?"
These words were spoken.
Qin Mo looked at her with a rather emotionless gaze.
He didn't even need her to say anything; he already knew why she had come here.
