Chapter 446 He Only Trusts Her

Chapter 446 He Only Trusts Her

Seeing that his emotions and expression were normal, Jiang Ruan's worries were relieved.

“I know about Dad’s amnesia.” Sui Sui seemed to know what she was thinking and spoke up. “Don’t worry, I’m fine.”

Jiang Ruan subconsciously looked at Huo Zhizhou.

The latter did not speak.

Looking at them with tender eyes, for a moment, Huo Zhizhou felt that this was how things should be: a happy family of three. But the red divorce certificate reminded him that he and Jiang Ruan were indeed divorced.

"Mommy should have told you sooner." Jiang Ruan gently rubbed Sui Sui's head with her soft, warm hand, her eyes filled with concern and care for him. "I'm sorry."

Because they were afraid he would feel bad, they deprived him of his right to know as a child.

Huo Zhizhou is his father.

No matter what happens, she should tell him.

"You knew all along?" Huo Zhizhou suddenly spoke up.

Jiang Ruan: "I know."

Jiang Ruan thought he would ask her something, but after that question, he didn't ask any more questions. Instead, he reached out his large hand and took Sui Sui's hand, saying naturally and familiarly, "Let's go downstairs to eat."

This dinner was very strange.

Huo Zhizhou, who should have felt awkward, was surprisingly outgoing.

She would serve food to Jiang Ruan and Sui Sui, and in her spare time she would chat with Li Zhishen.

In contrast, ginger is soft.

Having prepared herself for a full-scale battle, she was left bewildered by Huo Zhizhou's procedures and didn't know how to respond. She simply chased him away. So far, he hadn't done anything excessive. Sui Sui also needed to get used to the role of her amnesiac father.

Distancing herself from him? She had already distanced herself, but he seemed oblivious to her low spirits.

After the dinner.

Huo Zhizhou naturally joined the conversation with Li Zhishen and Old Master Qin.

Seeing this, Sui Sui moved closer to Jiang Ruan and called out, "Mommy."

Jiang Ruan: "Hmm?"

Sui Sui glanced at Huo Zhizhou, then blurted out in her soft, sweet voice, "Did Daddy really lose his memory? Or is he faking it?"

"Why do you ask that?" Jiang Ruan's eyes flashed with surprise.

Jiang An, who was standing next to him, also glanced at him again.

“When he came to pick me up, it wasn’t much different from before,” Sui Sui said, recalling the previous situation. “He didn’t ask me if our relationship was good or bad, nor did he ask what had happened between us.”

Jiang Ruan looked towards Huo Zhizhou.

What a coincidence!

Huo Zhizhou had just raised his eyes.

The two looked at each other from a distance; the former suppressed all her emotions and faced her with a cold expression, while the latter made no attempt to hide his admiration for her.

“He really has amnesia,” Jiang Ruan said.

Sui Sui blinked her eyes, a little curious: "Why?"

Jiang Ruan: "Look who he's chatting with right now."

Sui Sui glanced at him and said, "Grandpa."

Although Li Zhishen's relentless efforts did not earn him Jiang An's forgiveness or Jiang Ruan's "Dad," he did earn the title of "Grandpa" from Sui Sui.

Jiang Ruan asked, "Would he have talked to him this much before?"

Sui Sui thought for a moment and said, "No."

In the past, my father and grandfather mostly teased and bickered with each other.

Chatting peacefully? Absolutely not.

Seeing that her daughter could see clearly, Jiang An was relieved.

As they were talking, Huo Zhizhou walked over at some point, stopped in front of them, looked at Jiang Ruan, and said, "Would you mind coming upstairs to talk alone for a while?"

Jiang Ruan glanced at Sui Sui and agreed.

She led him to her study, a large room with clean, bright floor-to-ceiling windows visible from the entrance. Huo Zhizhou's gaze swept over the room, trying to find traces of his life there.

After looking around, all I saw besides various documents and books were soft furnishings and electronic devices.

I have absolutely no memory of it.

At that moment, he had no idea that this was Jiang Ruan's new home.

"What do you want to talk about?" Jiang Ruan asked.

"Why are we getting a divorce?" Huo Zhizhou asked.

“You want me to accept the existence of another woman,” Jiang Ruan said calmly. “Tell me she is important to you, and if I don’t agree, you make things difficult for me because of her.”

Huo Zhizhou: "?"

Huo Zhizhou frowned slightly.

His first reaction was that Jiang Ruan was lying to him, but her expression and eyes showed no hint of a joke.

"Why should I ask you to accept her existence?"

Jiang Ruan opened her mouth, but the words she was about to say stopped when she saw his undisguised eyes. After thinking it over, she gave a different answer: "You're asking me? Who should I ask?"

At that time, she truly did not know the reason.

He deliberately showed her the photos, made decisions without giving her any room for discussion, and intentionally made things difficult for her.

"Was she my first love?" Huo Zhizhou changed the subject.

Even though he had denied it countless times in his heart, he was still afraid to hear a positive answer from Jiang Ruan. If Su Anran really was his first love, then most of what his brother said was true.

Can……

How could he like Su Anran?

"Even your first love wouldn't have made you do that." Jiang Ruan answered casually, not wanting to dwell on the past, and quickly changed the subject, "If that's all you want to talk about, then goodbye."

Huo Zhizhou was about to speak.

My phone rang.

It was Huo Cheng calling.

He glanced at Jiang Ruan, and after much consideration, decided to answer the phone: "Dad."

Jiang Ruan raised her eyes.

I was surprised by how he addressed me.

"Where are you now?" Huo Cheng's voice came through the microphone. Jiang Ruan couldn't hear it very clearly, but she could still make out the general idea.

Huo Zhizhou's gaze fell on Jiang Ruan, his thin lips parted slightly, and he said naturally, "Jiang Ruan's family."

"What did you say?!" Huo Cheng exploded.

Huo Zhizhou repeated: "Jiang Ruan's family."

"What are you doing at her house so late?" Huo Cheng's exasperated voice came through the phone. "Have you forgotten what I told your mother before? She's a very calculating gold digger. Don't be fooled by her sweet talk!"

"Didn't you ask me to talk to her about the custody of Sui Sui and the division of property in the divorce?" Huo Zhizhou naturally retorted.

Huo Cheng paused.

About two or three seconds passed.

He quickly said, "I'm asking you to get back what you were cheated out of, but we can talk about it outside. Why go to her house?"

"If I don't go to her house, how can I let him know that I'm determined to get custody and the property?" Huo Zhizhou said unhurriedly, his face very nonchalant. "Don't worry, I'll take care of things."

Huo Cheng hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.

She wanted to say something more, but was worried about ruining her image in front of her son.

After much deliberation, he only asked one question: "Is Lu Yi with you?"

"No," Huo Zhizhou replied truthfully. "I sent him back to the hotel to rest."

Huo Cheng suddenly tightened his grip on his phone.

Even with amnesia, she's still such a worry!

What a rebellious son!

"Don't worry, I'll take care of it." Huo Zhizhou said and hung up the phone.

Jiang Ruan overheard the entire conversation between the two.

Perhaps her gaze was too intense, because when Huo Zhizhou put away his phone and looked at her, he explained what he had just said: "Don't worry, it's just a perfunctory gesture. Now that we're divorced, everything from the past has been settled, and there's no reason to ask for it back."

He didn't know why he got divorced.

But since the divorce was successful, it means that he agreed to everything.

Since you agree, there's nothing more to say.
