Chapter 519 Seeking Huo Cheng

Chapter 519 Seeking Huo Cheng

Without Huo Cheng's involvement, Uncle Shan and the others were able to handle everything and start over with Shan Mu'an.

But he did it anyway.

They pushed the family further and further until their deaths.

"Whose son are you anyway?!" Huo Cheng couldn't stand Huo Zhizhou treating him like this.

Huo Zhizhou didn't respond to that.

If he had a choice, he wouldn't have become a child of the Huo family.

"Aren't you afraid of being laughed at if word gets out that you treat your father like this because of outsiders?" Huo Cheng continued, trying to suppress him with the threat of reputation and profit. "Don't forget that you are a member of the Huo family, a major shareholder of the Huo Group. Your every word and action represents the Huo Group!"

"If you do this, I can get them to dismiss you."

Huo Cheng became more and more excited as he spoke.

It was as if he could make Huo Zhizhou suffer with just a single word.

“It won’t be like that for long,” Huo Zhizhou said.

Huo Cheng was taken aback: "What do you mean?"

Huo Zhizhou didn't mind wasting this little bit of time with him, since the outcome was already decided anyway: "I will transfer all my shares to Huo Sinian. After tomorrow, I will have nothing to do with the Huo family anymore."

Huo Cheng didn't believe a single word.

He would believe it if the Huo Group were still the Huo Group he managed back then, since the company was declining under his leadership and wasn't worth much money.

However, the Huo Group is now one of the top companies in the industry.

He didn't believe anyone could be indifferent.

"What do you mean by having no further connection with the Huo family?" Huo's mother, Qiao Shuyun, suddenly asked. She was dressed elegantly and looked worried.

Huo Zhizhou: "The literal meaning."

Qiao Shuyun panicked immediately: "You're leaving the Huo family?"

Huo Zhizhou did not respond.

"Why?" Qiao Shuyun couldn't accept this and quickly stepped forward to pull him aside, asking, "Did Jiang Ruan say something to you again? No matter what she says, don't believe her. She's a liar with a mouth full of lies and a deep-seated cunning!"

"How long are you going to smear her?" Huo Zhizhou said calmly, his gaze devoid of warmth. "I know who she is better than any of you."

Qiao Shuyun was stunned: "You..."

"Why bother talking to him about that? He's an ungrateful bastard." Huo Cheng cursed, his mood extremely bad. "We raised him, and he's not even worth the few meals the Shan family gave him!"

"You..." Qiao Shuyun suddenly realized something, "You've regained your memories?"

"Could he be this ruthless without regaining his memories?" Huo Cheng retorted.

Qiao Shuyun was at a loss for words.

Or perhaps, she simply didn't know how to get along with her son who didn't like her.

"Are you really going to sever ties with us for Jiang Ruan?" After thinking it over, she brought the topic back to what had just happened.

"Don't throw all sorts of mud at her." Huo Zhizhou's gaze was devoid of warmth. "I left the Huo family simply because I didn't want to have anything to do with you."

The father of a beast.

His mother treated him like a tool.

Too many things made him feel no attachment to this place.

"If you really don't want to be associated with us, then go die." Huo Cheng was a man with a bad temper, and when pushed to the limit, he would say anything. "Don't forget that we gave you your life."

"You're wrong," Huo Zhizhou corrected him without any change in his mood.

Huo Cheng frowned.

Huo Zhizhou said, word by word, "My life was given to me by Jiang Ruan. Without her, I would have died long ago."

He still vividly remembers that near-drowning incident.

He was constantly accompanied by feelings of suffocation and helplessness.

It was Jiang Ruan who brought him back to shore when he lost his last bit of consciousness.

"You! You!" Huo Cheng pointed at him, his fingers trembling, "You really are the good son I raised!"

Huo Zhizhou countered, "Did you raise one?"

Huo Cheng: "I've earned every single meal you eat!"

"The Huo family's foundation existed before my grandfather; the Huo Group was founded by him," Huo Zhizhou said, enunciating each word clearly, looking at him as if he were a complete stranger. "You haven't created the slightest value for this family."

Huo Cheng wanted to curse again.

Huo Zhizhou then concluded by asking, "Do you want to go by yourself, or should I take you?"

Qiao Shuyun asked, "Where are we going?"

Huo Zhizhou did not answer, his gaze fixed on Huo Cheng.

The latter retorted angrily, "If you're so capable, why don't you just kill me?"

"Lin Bei," Huo Zhizhou ordered emotionlessly, "Tie him up and take him to the Shan family cemetery."

Lin Bei: "Yes!"

Huo Cheng struggled: "You dare!"

Lin Bei took out the rope he had prepared beforehand and tied him up tightly.

"You unfilial son!"

"I am your father!"

"Aren't you afraid of being struck by lightning for doing this?"

“Zhizhou…” Qiao Shuyun felt a little sorry for him as she watched this scene. “Your father had no choice back then. If he had a choice, he definitely wouldn’t have treated Shan Mu’an’s family like that.”

Huo Zhizhou looked at her with a cold gaze.

Qiao Shuyun's heart tightened: "For Mom's sake, can we just let this go?"

"Mrs. Qiao," Huo Zhizhou said, his tone unusually distant and cold, "do I need to remind you, were you also involved in what happened back then?"

Qiao Shuyun froze.

Huo Zhizhou didn't look at her again. After Lin Bei finished tying the person up, he turned and left.

"Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!"

Huo Cheng struggled with all his might after his mouth was gagged.

Qiao Shuyun couldn't bear to watch, and stopped Huo Zhizhou just as he got into the car: "What will you do to your father?"

“If he cooperates, he can live a good life.” Huo Zhizhou said this without warmth, without even a change in emotion. “If he doesn’t cooperate, he can only leave it to fate.”

“He will always be your father,” Qiao Shuyun said.

Jiang's assistant closed the car door for his boss, cutting off all sound.

The car started quickly and headed towards the cemetery.

Qiao Shuyun could only watch anxiously. Finally, she took out her phone and called Huo Sinian. The moment the call connected, she hurriedly said, "Sinian! Go to the Shan family cemetery right away. Zhizhou has taken your father there."

"I know," came Huo Sinian's unhurried voice.

Qiao Shuyun was taken aback: "What's wrong?"

"Don't get involved in this matter," Huo Sinian kindly reminded him. "Dad has done so many wrong things, he deserves to pay the price."

“But he will always be your father!” Qiao Shuyun didn’t know how her two children had become like this. They were both very well-behaved and obedient when they were little.

Huo Sinian's eyes darkened.

After a long while, he slowly replied, "None of the things he did were things a father would do."

The call ended.

Qiao Shuyun knew that the two children were in cahoots.

Ignoring everything else, he grabbed his phone and car keys and was about to leave when he was stopped by the Huo family guards at the door: "Second Young Master has ordered that you are not allowed to leave the old house."

——

More than an hour later.

The car arrived at the Shan family cemetery.

The moment they stopped, Lin Bei and Lin Feng pulled Huo Cheng out of the car.

"Mmm!" Huo Cheng struggled with all his might, but the tape over his mouth prevented him from opening it.

Huo Zhizhou didn't even glance at him, and walked towards the location of Shan Mu'an's family.

We've arrived at our destination.

He walked to one of the tombstones, squatted down in front of it, and gently stroked the photo of the sunny, spirited young man on it with his fingertips.

My mind involuntarily drifted back to the little things in my life back then.
