Chapter 384 A Cry of "Grandpa"
"Doesn't your grandfather usually dislike seeing doctors? Why did he need two days of IV fluids this time?" Qin Muchuan asked Qin Luofeng beside him, his tone devoid of emotion.
“My brother forced him to lose,” Qin Luofeng said naturally. “Grandpa couldn’t persuade him otherwise, so he had to listen to him.”
Qin Muchuan did not speak.
Qin Luofeng glanced at him sideways: "Aren't you going to see Grandpa? He got angry because of an argument with you."
“I won’t go for now.” Qin Muchuan looked away, and no one could tell what he was thinking. “If he sees that the IV fluids I’ve been doing these past two days have been wasted, then we’ll wait until he calms down a bit before we go.”
"Okay." Qin Luofeng didn't say anything more.
Qin Muchuan told him, "Go and see him. Your brother and Qin Jiangye have both gone. It wouldn't be appropriate for you not to go."
Qin Luofeng nodded: "I know."
Qin Muchuan hummed in response and said nothing more before turning to leave.
Before he had taken two steps, Qin Luofeng called out to him, "Dad."
Qin Muchuan turned around.
"Did you deliberately make Grandpa collapse from anger?" Qin Luofeng asked, staring intently into his eyes, not missing a single suspicious glance.
A hint of doubt flashed across Qin Muchuan's face: "What?"
"It's nothing." Qin Luofeng didn't ask any more questions. "Grandpa's health isn't very good. Let's talk about things slowly in the future. Don't be impulsive like before."
"It was an accident last time. I didn't expect him to care so much about Jiang Ruan." Qin Muchuan didn't show any abnormality. "I'll be more careful in the future."
Qin Luofeng: "Mm."
Qin Muchuan urged, "Go."
Qin Luofeng didn't say anything more and walked towards Old Master Qin. After seeing him sitting next to Qin Jiangye, Qin Muchuan left the old house, his face instantly turning gloomy.
...
That noon.
Just as Jiang Ruan finished eating, Qin Mo arrived. He was as taciturn as before, and his handsome face remained as unmelting as a glacier.
She opened her mouth, but before she could speak, Qin Mo said first, "Go ahead and do what you need to do. We'll go to the old house together when you're done."
Jiang Ruan: "I can go by myself."
Qin Mo didn't say anything more.
After what happened last time, her grandfather wouldn't feel comfortable letting her go alone.
Firstly, he was worried that the Li family would make another move, and secondly, he was worried that his father and second uncle would cause trouble.
"I have an appointment to discuss something," Jiang Ruan explained the situation, "The time is uncertain for now."
Qin Mo: "It's nothing."
Jiang Ruan fell silent.
Qin Mo looked up and saw her. He thought he was the one who was interfering with her meeting with someone, so he blurted out, "I'll wait for you in the car. Just call me when you're done."
"No need," Jiang Ruan said. "There's still a while, you can rest here."
Knowing that Qin Mo was stubborn and wouldn't listen to reason, she didn't suggest that he leave first.
Back in her room, she sent a message to Si Ning, telling her not to rush back, as she had to go out for a while.
I originally planned to ask Mr. Si Ning about Mr. Qin last night, but I got distracted by other things and forgot. I only remembered this morning, but by then Si Ning had already taken Sui Sui out to play.
It seems we can only discuss this tonight.
"Let's go," Jiang Ruan said to Qin Mo after changing her clothes.
Qin Mo looked puzzled.
It's as if they're saying they didn't have an appointment to discuss business?
But he didn't ask any more questions. To him, Jiang Ruan's decision to go back to the old house with him only meant that she had made all the arrangements.
The two traveled to the Qin family home in the same car. Along the way, Qin Mo was handling company matters on his tablet. During a break from his work, Jiang Ruan asked him, "Is Mr. Qin's cold better?"
"That's about it." Qin Mo said distantly.
Jiang Ruan nodded.
Silence fell over the car again.
Qin Mo then realized that the person sitting next to him was not his secretary but Jiang Ruan.
He's lying to you.
Jiang Ruan asked in confusion, "Hmm?"
“He didn’t catch a cold or get sick.” Qin Mo was always frank about these things and didn’t feel the need to hide anything. “He collapsed from arguing with my dad.”
"Is it serious?" Jiang Ruanxin's heart tightened slightly.
"It's alright." Qin Mo's voice was still indifferent. "As long as you rest and avoid getting angry, there shouldn't be any major problems. I hope you can help persuade them when we get there."
Jiang Ruan said "okay".
Qin Mo didn't know why, but thinking about the old man's words that morning, "I'm going to die someday," he felt inexplicably depressed, so much so that he talked a lot more than before: "He's actually quite good to you."
Jiang Ruan: "I know."
"This time he's angry because he thinks your accident was caused by my dad and second uncle," Qin Mo said. "My dad denies it, so the two of them started arguing."
Jiang Ruan was taken aback.
I didn't expect this.
"If you can, I'd like to ask you to call him 'Grandpa' when you arrive." Qin Mo said this while looking at Jiang Ruan with his dark eyes. "This title might be more effective for him than several days of IV drips."
He had always thought the old man was in good health.
But after this incident, he inexplicably began to worry.
Jiang Ruan pursed her lips but didn't reply.
The car arrived at the Qin family's residence smoothly, with Tang Bai and Mo Mo following behind to protect them.
As before, Jiang Ruan bought some things for Grandpa Qin. When she arrived, Grandpa Qin was chatting with the two old men beside him. When he saw her, his wrinkled face lit up with undisguised joy: "Ruan Ruan is here!"
"Let me introduce you, this is my granddaughter, Ruan Ruan."
“Ruanruan, come here. These are your Grandpa Xie and Grandpa Chi.”
"Hello Grandpa Xie, hello Grandpa Chi." Jiang Ruan greeted them in a graceful and generous manner.
"Good, good, good." Grandpa Chi replied with a smile, "After listening to your maternal grandfather boast for so long, I've finally met him in person today."
“I often hear Grandpa mention you and Grandpa Xie.” Jiang Ruan has now learned social etiquette and can easily exchange pleasantries. “He said you are both excellent at chess and have beautiful handwriting.”
Grandpa Chi: "Impossible, this is absolutely not something your grandfather would say."
Grandpa Xie was relatively calmer and more serious: "Your maternal grandfather would only say that those two old geezers have no character and no sportsmanship."
"Stop covering for your grandfather," Grandpa Chi said in a lively and natural tone. "We know him better than anyone. If he didn't gossip behind people's backs, he wouldn't be him."
Jiang Ruan smiled.
While chatting with the two elderly people, she didn't notice the complex look in Grandpa Qin's eyes—a mixture of surprise and suspicion—after she mentioned "Grandpa."
There were still faint glimmers of tears in her eyes.
“Now that you’re here, we won’t linger any longer.” Old Master Chi stood up. “Otherwise, this old fellow will start gossiping behind our backs again about how we’re not perceptive. I don’t want my reputation to be ruined in my old age.”
Qin Mo offered, "I'll see you off."
It would have been fine if he hadn't spoken, but as soon as he started talking, both Grandpa Chi and Grandpa Xie's eyes fell on him.
Qin Mo: "?"
Grandpa Chi took a few steps toward him: "Young Qin."
Qin Mo: "Please speak."
Grandpa Chi looked him up and down and asked, "Are you interested in our Chi Yuan?"
"And my Xie Yi," Old Master Xie said with a stern face.
Qin Mo: "???"
Jiang Ruan: "?"
Tang Bai and Mo Mo: "?"
"Let me tell you, our Chi Yuan is a straight man through and through." Old Master Chi knows a lot. "If you don't want to find a girlfriend, don't mess with him. If you manage to turn him gay, I won't let you off the hook."
Grandpa Xie replied with a serious expression, "Hmm."
Qin Mo, without changing his expression, threw out a sentence: "Usually, there's something wrong with people who insist they're straight."
"What do you mean?" Old Master Chi asked.
Grandpa Xie narrowed his eyes and stared at him.
Qin Mo's thin lips parted slightly, his words were very calm: "Chi Yuan hugged Xie Yi and even let Xie Yi give him a kiss."
