Chapter 564 Finding He Jia
Qin Muchuan froze.
Her gaze fell on him, and she didn't know how to start a conversation.
"Who made you so angry?" Qin Luofeng walked in, still radiating a gentle and pleasant aura.
Qin Muchuan's words caught in his throat. He said to his secretary, "You can go down now."
Secretary: "Yes."
Not long after.
Only Qin Muchuan and Qin Luofeng were left at home.
Qin Luofeng was completely bewildered by his gaze and had no idea what was going on.
"There's something I haven't told you." Qin Muchuan knew he was in the wrong and didn't know how to face him. "I went to see He Jia a couple of days ago."
"What do you want with her?" Qin Luofeng asked instinctively.
The moment he asked the question, he suddenly had a bad feeling.
I remembered that he had always said to keep quiet, that only the dead could keep secrets.
"You wouldn't..." Qin Luofeng frowned slightly, his words becoming more serious than before.
"I gave her a sum of money," Qin Muchuan told her everything without hiding anything, "to make her disappear on her own."
Qin Luofeng looked at him with a hint of emotion in her eyes.
I clearly told them.
Why do we still need to do this?
Where is she?
"It's in Jiang Ruan's hands," Qin Muchuan said.
Qin Luofeng: "?"
Qin Luofeng frowned slightly: "How did it end up with her?"
"My men said she went to jump into the sea, but was rescued by Jiang Ruan's people." Qin Muchuan got angry just thinking about it, never expecting that Jiang Ruan had people watching her all the time. "She's in the hospital now."
Qin Luofeng's mood sank lower and lower.
He never considered resolving this matter in this way.
"What do we do now?" Qin Muchuan was in a bad mood. "What if she exposes you?"
“She won’t,” Qin Luofeng said.
"How do you know she wouldn't?" Qin Muchuan now only regretted not sending someone to resolve the issue, but instead letting her choose how to disappear; otherwise, so many things wouldn't have happened.
“If she were good at talking, she would have said it before.” Qin Luofeng believed he understood He Jia well, after all, he had spent a lot of time with her. “Why didn’t you discuss it with me?”
"It's all because you've been protecting me," Qin Muchuan said.
Qin Luofeng asked with concern, "How is she?"
Qin Muchuan: "It should be fine."
Qin Luofeng frowned slightly: "Should?"
"The ward is guarded by Jiang Ruan's people, and my people can't get in." Qin Muchuan disliked Jiang Ruan even more. "I asked the doctor in charge of this matter, and he said it's fine."
Qin Luofeng stood up.
"Where are you going?" Qin Muchuan called out to him.
"Let's go see her," Qin Luofeng said as he walked out.
He never expected his father to become so reckless. Not only would doing this not bring any benefit, but it would also give Jiang Ruan a handle to use against him.
Thinking about this...
He suddenly stopped and asked, "What did you tell He Jia? Besides her, who else knows?"
"Only she and I know." Qin Muchuan was very cautious about this matter.
Qin Luofeng said "I understand" and walked out.
Qin Muchuan called out to him, "Wait a minute."
"What is it?" Qin Luofeng's attitude was somewhat indifferent.
"I didn't think this through, but I did it all for your own good." Qin Muchuan said as he walked towards him, his eyes showing a different kind of emotion than usual. "You are, after all, my son, and I don't want to watch you ruin your future."
Qin Luofeng opened his mouth, but ultimately didn't say the words.
He knew it was for his own good.
But this kind of good is not something that ordinary people can afford.
"Tell me first if anything happens in the future." Qin Luofeng changed his words, and his whole demeanor was much more depressed than before.
Qin Muchuan: "Okay."
Qin Luofeng hummed in agreement.
"How do you plan to handle this?" Qin Muchuan asked.
Ultimately, he was still worried about He Jia, fearing she might betray him.
"Visit her first, then send her away," Qin Luofeng said.
Qin Muchuan: "???"
Qin Muchuan stared at him, seemingly surprised that he could make such a foolish decision: "Are you crazy?!"
Qin Luofeng remained silent.
"She was the one who did it back then, so why send her away?" Qin Muchuan genuinely didn't understand. "Even if Jiang Ruan managed to get something out of her, she's still the murderer, and she can't escape."
“I know,” Qin Luofeng said.
"Knowing you still wanted to send her away?" Qin Muchuan felt like he'd been kicked in the head by a donkey.
Qin Luofeng sighed.
He knew that his father wouldn't let him go unless he made things clear today.
His gaze fell on him, and he said, word by word, "If we don't send her away, what if things really turn out like you said?"
He knew He Jia wouldn't betray him.
But what if?
What if her thoughts changed because of some action or behavior of Jiang Ruan?
Even a fleeting moment is enough to sell him out.
"What do you mean?" Qin Muchuan was a little confused.
"I can win her heart with my sincerity." At this moment, Qin Luofeng revealed his true nature and showed his scheme to the fullest. "If I send her away, she won't leave."
A few simple words.
Qin Muchuan understood instantly.
He looked at his son, a little confused: "You weren't..."
"I was thinking of letting things take their course before, and I would accept it if I was found out." Qin Luofeng had been thinking a lot these past two days. "But seeing you talk to her personally for my sake, I felt a little guilty, and I also knew that I couldn't always make you worry like this."
Upon hearing this...
Qin Muchuan immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
"It's good that you've thought it through."
He was genuinely afraid that he would turn himself in later.
What should he do if that happens?
“I’m going,” Qin Luofeng said.
"Go ahead." Seeing that he had come to terms with it, Qin Muchuan stopped worrying. "Contact me anytime if you need anything."
Qin Luofeng said "okay".
That evening.
Qin Luofeng arrived at the hospital.
With bodyguards arranged by Jiang Ruan present, he naturally couldn't get in.
He stood in the hospital corridor and made a phone call to He Jia: "Hello."
"Boss." He Jia wasn't surprised at all to receive the call; her feelings were mixed.
"How are you doing now?" Qin Luofeng asked gently, with concern in his voice.
He Jia sat on the hospital bed, her face not looking too good: "I'm alright."
"Would it be convenient for you to come out for a moment?" Qin Luofeng asked gently. "I can't come in because Jiang Ruan's bodyguards are at your door. I have something I'd like to discuss with you."
"Now?" He Jia asked.
Qin Luofeng: "Yes."
"Please wait a moment," He Jia said as she put on her coat. "I'll be right out."
She made up a random excuse and went out.
She glanced around the corridor and, not seeing anyone, was about to send a message to Qin Luofeng when a voice rang out from her left: "Xiao He."
He Jia looked up.
Our eyes met.
She was a little tense, wondering how the boss knew she was here. Did his knowing she was here mean he also knew that her father had given her money to disappear?
