Chapter 30 isn't enough? I'll give you more, until you're satisfied.
"Zhizhou," Su Anran started acting up again, "it was just an accident, she probably didn't mean to."
"Whether she did it intentionally or accidentally, the fact remains that you were injured because of her." Huo Zhizhou kept staring at Jiang Ruan, not missing a single expression on her face. "She has to pay the price for what she did."
Jiang Ruan understood what he was saying.
He wasn't there to reason with her, but to stand up for Su Anran, just like when he used to spoil her; no matter who was at fault, he always protected her.
He was telling her that the consequence of not accepting his "shared husband" was that he would transfer his favoritism towards her to someone else.
But she doesn't care for this kind of favoritism that can be transferred.
Jiang Ruan: "You mean what you say?"
Huo Zhizhou: "I keep my word."
The instant he finished speaking, Jiang Ruan grabbed a small medical knife from the shelf next to her and quickly slashed her palm. The skin split open on both sides of the knife, and blood flowed continuously from the wound, staining her palm red in almost an instant.
"Miss Jiang!" Dr. Zhou was startled.
Huo Zhizhou's pupils contracted slightly, his eyes, like those of midnight, fixed on the bleeding hand.
How come someone who used to complain about pain with red eyes even when he scraped his skin can now cut such a large wound on his hand without batting an eye?
You really don't want to ask him for help?
I never thought I would be so cruel to myself.
"Is that enough?" Jiang Ruan let the blood seep from the wound and drip down her fingertips. "If it's not enough, I'll give you more until you're satisfied."
“Mr. Huo, Miss Su’s injuries are not serious, just some scrapes.” Dr. Zhou, worried that Jiang Ruan’s injuries would worsen, immediately said, “This is more than enough for Miss Jiang.”
Let alone ten times, fifty times would be enough.
Huo Zhizhou's heart sank lower and lower, and his face was more somber than ever before.
“Zhi Zhou was just joking with you, why did you take it seriously?” Su Anran suddenly said, “If he really didn’t want Dr. Zhou to treat your mother, he would have had her moved out long ago.”
“It was a joke.” Jiang Ruan’s palms were getting more and more painful, but she didn’t show any weakness. “But this joke can easily take someone’s life.”
Su Anran subconsciously looked at the person next to her.
Huo Zhizhou didn't hear a word. All he could see was Jiang Ruan's uncontrollable bleeding and that fierce little face he had never seen before.
"Mr. Huo," Dr. Zhou said boldly, "if Miss Jiang's wound isn't bandaged soon..."
He hadn't finished speaking.
Huo Zhizhou reached out and grabbed Su Anran's wrist, but his gaze remained fixed on Jiang Ruan's bleeding hand: "Let's go."
"And what about Miss Jiang's mother?" Dr. Zhou asked.
"She's paid it back." Huo Zhizhou walked out, leaving behind the words, "If you want treatment, then go ahead."
Dr. Zhou breathed a sigh of relief. While picking up the sterilization and bandaging supplies from the side, he said to Jiang Ruan, "Are you stupid? Why did you cut yourself such a big wound?"
Jiang Ruan didn't speak.
Her mother's safety was at stake, so she dared not gamble.
"It might hurt a little later, just bear with it." Dr. Zhou was quite familiar with Jiang Ruan and naturally knew that she was afraid of pain.
Jiang Ruan took the hydrogen peroxide: "It's okay, I can do it myself."
Dr. Zhou was somewhat worried.
Jiang Ruan poured hydrogen peroxide directly onto the wound without frowning or crying out in pain, as if it were just a bottle of mineral water being poured onto perfectly healthy skin.
"Weren't you always most afraid of pain?" Dr. Zhou asked.
When she twisted her ankle while dancing, Huo Zhizhou carried her to the hospital for treatment. She complained of pain several times, but this time the pain was much greater than before, yet she remained silent.
“The past is the past, and the present is the present.” Jiang Ruan didn’t say much more. After disinfecting, she applied medicine and bandaged herself. “Let’s continue talking about my mother’s condition.”
Seeing her struggling to stay upright, Dr. Zhou took the gauze from her hand and wrapped it around her wound. It was such a simple action, but Jiang Ruan found herself watching it intently.
I just finished bandaging it.
A message notification sound appeared on Dr. Zhou's phone.
It was sent by Huo Zhizhou: "Be gentle when bandaging the wound, and give her the scar-reducing medication after you're done."
Dr. Zhou: [Okay.]
Huo Zhizhou did not reply after seeing the message.
Seeing that he couldn't calm down, Su Anran was worried that he would blame her for coming to see Jiang Ruan like last time, so she simply spoke up: "Zhizhou, I know you don't like me coming to see Ruanruan, but I really can't just stand by and watch Auntie get into trouble. If you blame me, I will have no complaints."
"Does the wound still hurt?" Huo Zhizhou changed the subject.
"It hurts." Su Anran nodded, her face showing grievance.
Huo Zhizhou placed his large hand on her knee, his gaze filled with the layers of gauze, his rough thumb unconsciously rubbing it gently, and for some reason his mind was filled with the image of Jiang Ruan's blood-soaked palm.
"The doctor said it's nothing serious." Su Anran took his hand. "You don't need to worry too much."
Huo Zhizhou calmly withdrew his hand and gently tidied her hair that was hanging down: "Take good care of yourself these next few days. Call me if you need anything. Remember not to let your wound get wet."
"Aren't you coming back with me?" Su Anran suddenly felt a pang of panic.
"I still have some things to take care of at the hospital and the company," Huo Zhizhou said in a low voice, unhurriedly. "I'll come find you after I'm done."
A hint of jealousy flashed deep in Su Anran's eyes.
She knew he stayed because of Jiang Ruan!
"If you're bored, invite your friends out shopping," Huo Zhizhou advised.
Su Anran nodded.
Huo Zhizhou didn't linger any longer. After giving instructions to the driver, he got out of the car and only returned to Dr. Zhou's other office after the car had disappeared from his sight.
Jiang Ruan had finished her discussion with Dr. Zhou and realized that she would have to work hard to earn money to deal with any unexpected situations.
"I'll leave Mom's matter to you." Jiang Ruan was always very polite to him.
Dr. Zhou: "You're too kind."
After the matter was discussed, Dr. Zhou gave her the scar removal medicine before sending her away.
As soon as he returned to his seat, he noticed someone open the office door. Looking in the direction of the sound, he saw Huo Zhizhou, who had turned back: "President Huo."
"Is the surgical plan finalized?" Huo Zhizhou walked over and sat down. When he saw the red-stained cotton balls and drops of blood in the medical waste bin next to him, he couldn't help but frown.
Dr. Zhou showed it to him: "It's settled."
Huo Zhizhou took it, carefully examined it to make sure there were no problems, and then returned it to him.
Time passed by, bit by bit.
The person is still sitting there.
Dr. Zhou, feeling a bit overwhelmed by his low mood, mustered her courage and tentatively asked, "Is there a problem with the surgical plan?"
"How serious is her wound?" Huo Zhizhou's tone was ambiguous, whether he was concerned or just curious to see if he would get his revenge tenfold.
