Chapter 77: Xiao Sui's Ten Years

Chapter 77: Xiao Sui's Ten Years

The black mass descended, approaching Xiao Sui's body and using demonic energy to fill the blood holes in his body. Ning Qi's perspective followed the black mass as it burrowed in and out of Xiao Sui's body.

The wound was so close to her that it looked even more horrifying. Even though she couldn't smell it, she could still faintly sense the stench of blood.

The edges of the blood hole showed signs of being scorched by spiritual energy, clearly the work of those cultivators.

They had already repelled the demons, yet they still started fighting amongst themselves? They even almost killed Xiao Sui! How could they do such a thing!

Ning Qi was filled with righteous indignation.

The light from the cave ceiling dimmed and brightened again, repeating this ten times before the demonic group finally healed his wounds, though a lot of demonic energy remained on his body.

Xiao Sui remained unconscious, and Ning Xi continued to wait. About ten days later, she finally saw Xiao Sui's fingers twitch.

The demons naturally noticed his signs of awakening and moved closer to his body.

Xiao Sui let out a groan, gripped the stone beneath him with his hands, and bent his arms to support himself as he sat up.

The black group suddenly became incredibly lively, calling him "Lord Demon God" all at once and starting to introduce themselves.

Xiao Sui listened without expression and said, "Take me to Huaguang Sect."

The demons vehemently opposed it, arguing that going to the Huaguang Sect in his current state would be tantamount to suicide.

Xiao Sui remained silent, stood up, and walked straight out of the cave. The demons were naturally under his control and could not stop him at all.

Ning Qi heard the first-character shout, "Demon God, wait! It's pointless for you to go and die now. Don't you want to take revenge on those cultivators? We have a secret technique that can give you powerful demonic energy in a short time."

Xiao Sui turned his head, his voice hoarse, "What secret technique?"

Seeing his interest, the demons immediately surrounded him, saying, "It's in this cave. Come with us."

Ning Qi floated into the air again and followed the demon group deep into the cave, arriving at an entrance that was only the size of a fist.

The demon told Xiao Sui to wait where he was, and then it went inside, circled around countless times, and finally wrapped itself up with a dark box, which it then carried back to the cave entrance.

Xiao Sui has disappeared.

Ning Qi followed them in their hurried search for people, while Xiao Sui staggered out of the cave and took out a teleportation array from his blood-stained storage bag.

He still wants to return to Huaguangzong.

The black mass grabbed him. Ning Qi tried to reach out, but since she had no physical form, she couldn't grasp him at all.

Fortunately, the demons supported his swaying body and placed the black box in his hand. "This contains the secret technique. Once you open it, you will be our master. You will be able to control all the demonic energy under heaven. You will not be able to leave this place for long and will live and die with the entire demon race."

"Okay," Xiao Sui said in a hoarse voice.

Without a second thought, he took the black box and opened it.

The thick black gas, like a slippery snake, emerged from the box, instantly dispersing and entering his body through his seven orifices.

Xiao Sui's face showed pain, and his body floated up, hovering in mid-air.

His body felt as if it were being branded with a hot iron, black smoke rising inch by inch, and his clothes were quickly burned away.

Ning Qi watched helplessly as black marks appeared wherever the black energy passed, spreading from her feet to her upper body.

He groaned in pain as the demonic mark stopped at his neck.

"Demon God, how could you use spiritual power to stop the formation of the demonic seal!" the black mass said anxiously.

"These things have left their mark on me, haven't they?" he asked in a hoarse voice, sounding like he was at his last gasp.

“Yes,” the demon group said. “At times like these, you shouldn’t worry about these things. Appearance is worthless to the strong. Once you stand at the top of the demon realm, who will dare to disrespect you because of your appearance?”

"It's not good-looking." Xiao Sui grabbed his neck, his spiritual power surging out to fight against the thick black demonic energy. "To see the princess, I can't... look bad."

The demons exchanged bewildered glances, and Ning Xi was about to speak in a panic. What was he doing?! At a time like this, he was still concerned about his appearance. Besides, even if he went to see her, she wouldn't be able to see what he looked like.

The demonic seal ended at his neck, and Xiao Sui finally released himself. His face was flushed red from lack of oxygen, and he was panting heavily.

"Oh dear, this secret technique failed to complete a full cycle within the body; it will cause problems later," the one-character exclaimed anxiously.

Xiao Sui had already straightened up and retracted the black energy into his body. The black box then fell to the ground, and Ning Qi glanced at it; it was completely empty.

The black-clad figures shouted, "Welcome back to the Demon Realm, Lord Demon God!"

This cave was not far from the Demon Palace. Within a few days, the Demon Lord came to the door and saw Xiao Sui, who had subdued the Demon Clan.

Seeing Xiao Sui's blindness, pale face, and body covered in demonic marks yet emanating no demonic energy, he showed a disdainful expression. "What demon god? Just a weakling. Those old fogies insisted I come and bring you back to the Demon Palace. How about this: if you're willing to serve under me, I'll find you a sinecure; if you're not..."

He gave a cruel smile. "I have no choice but to kill you."

That Demon Lord is such a despicable person. He sneaked over while Xiao Sui was weak, just to kill him, didn't he?

Ning Qi scoffed at this defeated opponent, but worried that Xiao Sui had not fully mastered the secret technique and could not unleash his full strength.

"Come on." Xiao Sui stood up from his meditation, demonic energy overflowing from his palm. "I should have killed you long ago."

The Demon Lord raised an eyebrow in surprise, then laughed loudly, "You think you can kill me? You're just asking for it yourself, those old men can't blame me."

He drew his broadsword from his back and, without giving Xiao Sui any time to react, slashed it directly at Xiao Sui's face.

Ning Qi was so angry that he scolded him for being shameless. Xiao Sui had no weapon at all, and this competition was unfair from the beginning!

The demon group wanted to speak, but Xiao Sui stopped them, saying, "No need."

As he spoke, he slapped his hands on the knife, and a strong demonic aura emanated from the demonic seal.

The Demon Lord stared wide-eyed, unaware that his demonic energy was so strong. He tried to pull his sword back, but couldn't.

Xiao Sui applied slight pressure with his palm, and with a "crack," the broadsword broke.

The Demon Lord was shocked and tried to retreat, but the black mass quickly blocked the entrance to the cave.

The Demon Lord stopped and turned around, forcing himself to say, "This sword of mine is no good. Let me get you another one to fight you with."

Xiao Sui sneered, and the demonic energy spread throughout the cave, engulfing the demonic energy he had released.

The Demon Lord let out a miserable cry, and Ning Qi could only see his head and arms struggling outside.

Xiao Sui approached him and lifted his right arm. "Is this the hand?"

The Demon Lord could not possibly answer him, nor did he need his answer. He tightened his knuckles and bent the fingers in the opposite direction.

With the Demon Lord's shrill scream, his arm twisted at an eerie angle.

Xiao Sui seemed annoyed and poured demonic energy into his mouth. With a "crack" sound, his mouth was wide open, his head drooped to his shoulder, and he was silent.

Xiao Sui actually twisted his neck and broke it.

This wasn't the end. He picked up the blade that had been broken in half and used it to sever the Demon Lord's neck, then lifted him by the hair.

Ning Qi stared blankly, never having shown such a cruel side to him before.

She followed him out of the cave and saw him carrying his head directly into the Demon Palace.

The demons inside the hall surrounded him in fear, and after seeing what he was holding, they dared not make a move.

Xiao Sui walked into the main hall without any expression, threw the Demon Lord's head on the ground, and turned to leave.

Several elders rushed over to stop him, examining the demonic energy emanating from him, and respectfully exclaimed, "Welcome back, Lord Demon God!"

Then everyone knelt down in front of the hall.

Xiao Sui looked at them indifferently, his eyes filled with a death wish.

From then on, the demon realm had a new demon god, whose power was greater than ever before, but he did not do anything worthwhile.

Ning Qi followed him to Huaguang Sect and saw him bring back her body and Zhizhi together. No one could stop him. She also saw him appear in front of her tombstone and crush the inscription "Imperial Son-in-Law" into powder.

So this is what Qianyu meant by destroying her cenotaph; it was simply erasing Yan Chongyan's name completely.

Ning Qi felt that what she said was somewhat exaggerated.

After that, Xiao Sui went to Huaguang Sect again, came to her courtyard, and went straight in.

Qianyu tried to stop him, but was pinned to the wall by demonic energy. She watched as Xiao Sui put all of Ning Qi's daily necessities into his storage bag and shouted, "Xiao Sui, you are erasing all traces of the princess's life."

Xiao Sui's eyes were gradually improving. He was only wearing an eye patch on one side, and his almost fully healed left eye showed a stubborn look. "The princess is just moving in to live with me."

Asagao was so shocked that she couldn't speak.

Ningxi's courtyard was almost completely emptied. He carefully packed up all her toiletries, dishes, and clothes and took them with him.

Floating in mid-air, Ning Qi looked at him in shock. At this moment, she finally understood that his obsession with her was so deep that it could not be severed by deliberately ignoring him.

Xiao Sui took her things back to the cave. During the day, he was a demon god who left cultivators helpless, but at night he lay on the cold ice bed, covered with Ning Qi's clothes, and could only sleep for a short while by holding her body. But he would soon wake up from nightmares, curl up next to her, mutter something, and watch over her with tears of fear in his eyes until dawn.

Ning Xi didn't hear what he was saying at first, until one time when the demon group got close to him, she heard him say, "Princess... save me."

His demonic energy grew stronger, but his body became increasingly emaciated, and he looked lifeless.

Later, his eyesight returned, and he read through all the envelopes Ning Qi had left for him. He probably couldn't hold on any longer, so he started cutting his arm with a knife. The wound was so deep that you could almost see the bone.

The black mass promptly repaired his wounds, but he quickly made another one. After this happened several times, the demonic mass stopped intervening and waited until he lost blood until his lips turned pale before stopping the wounds.

Xiao Sui, however, wore a satisfied smile. "I just saw the princess."

Ning Qi knew it was a memory, but her heart still ached terribly.

The demons were also afraid that he would completely ruin his health, so they sent a member of the sect to tell him that he could actually meet the princess again, but he would have to wait a few years.

Xiao Sui read the memories starting with the character "一" just like he had read them. It seemed that his will had recovered somewhat and he no longer had any intention of dying.

Ning Qi was feeling pleased when she saw him order someone to make a wedding dress according to Ning Qi's measurements.

Zhizhi looked at him hesitantly, "The princess has been gone for a long time, there's no point in you doing this..."

“It makes sense.” Xiao Sui pointed to the details of the wedding dress that he was not satisfied with and asked the weaving and dyeing department to redo it. “She is my wife after all.”

Zhizhi glared at him, looking as if he had gone mad.

The news of the demon god's wedding quickly spread throughout the entire demon realm, and even reached the mortal world.

When Ning Qi went out with the Demon Clan, she overheard people talking, "Those old guys from the Demon Palace have sent a lot of women to the Demon God, but he hasn't been moved at all. Why is he going to hold a wedding so soon? I wonder what kind of woman can catch His Highness's eye."

Another person said somberly, "I've heard something; it's a corpse."

The person who asked the question stared so hard his eyes almost popped out.

The demon sent out two groups of people to gag them.

The wedding was held quickly. The inside and outside of the Demon Palace were filled with bright red decorations. All the demon servants and guards changed into red clothes and looked very happy. However, the guests who came to attend were silent. Apart from the music, no one dared to say anything. The atmosphere was a bit strange.

They saw the demon god dressed in a magnificent groom's robe, performing the three kowtows and nine bows all by himself, with a coffin beside him.

After the wedding ceremony, Xiao Sui seemed oblivious to the tense atmosphere around him. He looked at Ning Xi with a gentle expression and carried her into the bedroom.

Zhizhi, accompanied by her demon servant, presented the Heqin wine, still with a hesitant expression.

Xiao Sui didn't care at all, and contentedly hooked his arm around Ning Qi's and drank the Heqin wine.

Ningxi's cup was only touched to her lips.

The wine stains left a wetness. Xiao Sui touched her lips, hugged her, and carefully carried her back to the icy bed. He lay down with her fully clothed.

Ning Xi felt someone grab the back of her head. She opened her eyes and saw Xiao Sui looking at her anxiously.

She returned to reality.

"How are you? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" he asked anxiously.

Ning Qi shook her head and just looked at him.

A flicker of fear at the possibility of losing her flashed in Xiao Sui's eyes as he asked, "What did you see?"
