Chapter 86 Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character Ning Xi

Chapter 86 Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character Ning Xi

Xiao Sui pulled her into his arms.

Ning Qi looked at the face so close to his, blinked, and then realized that there was no magic mark on his face.

It wasn't the prince from my dream; he was Xiao Sui.

"Are you feeling better?" he asked softly, his voice trembling slightly.

Xiao Sui didn't ask her about how to address her, but Ning Qi was sure he heard her.

"I'm fine." Ning Xi stretched her arms, held Xiao Sui's hand, and felt refreshed. The previous heat had vanished, as if it had all been left in her dream.

She couldn't help but think of that dream again; it was so real that it couldn't possibly be just a dream. She felt that she could get the answer from Xiao Sui.

"You've been unconscious for three days. I summoned the Demon Doctor, and they said you've been infected by the Corpse Demon. Were you bitten by the Corpse Demon?" Xiao Sui asked cautiously.

Ning Xi recalled this incident and snorted coldly, "It wasn't because of the Corpse Demon. I was coming to find you, but Xie Jingyan stopped me. He fed me demonic insects, but fortunately, my body doesn't seem to be infected."

Xiao Sui's gaze turned cold, darkness shrouding his eyes. He chewed on the three words "Xie Jingyan" as if he wanted to tear Xie Jingyan to pieces.

Ning Qi patted his arm, not wanting him to get into a conflict with the male lead's master, lest they fall into the same ending as in the original book. "I'm fine now. I have a question for you."

Xiao Sui lowered his eyes, a rare hint of panic showing on his face. "You..."

Ning Qi knew he didn't want to talk about it, so she said directly, "Just answer yes or no."

Xiao Sui responded.

"Did you see our past lives in the memories of the Demon Clan?"

Xiao Sui hesitated, neither nodding nor shaking his head.

"Is it hard to answer?" Ning Qi changed the question again, "In the memories you saw, was I on the run in the mortal realm for ten years, captured by cultivators, and sent to you as a hostage?"

"Yes," Xiao Sui replied after a moment of silence.

Sure enough, she knew it.

Ning Qi asked again, "Did you turn me into a corpse demon, and then, finding that I didn't transform into a zombie, throw me into the corpse demon pit to kill me?!"

This time, Xiao Sui remained silent for a much longer time. Finally, he opened his mouth with difficulty, "Yes, at that time..."

Ning Qi pinched his mouth shut. "I'll only let you answer yes or no. We'll talk about the rest later."

Xiao Sui frowned in anxiety.

"Did you make me your maid, summoning me every day and even helping me get rid of the love potion?" Ning Xi continued.

Xiao Sui's mouth moved slightly, and Ning Qi realized that she was still holding his mouth, so she let go.

"Yes," he admitted again.

Ning Qi raised her chin. "Explain. What exactly happened?"

Xiao Sui thought for a moment and said, "These are all true stories. I did do bad things to you back then, and it was my fault. Later, because time went backward once, we both lost that memory."

"Why does time flow backward?" Ning Qi asked, puzzled. "Do you know why it flows backward?"

Xiao Sui shook his head. "I don't know the specific reason, but the last memory the Demon Clan had was of me killing Yan Chongyan."

A sudden thought flashed through Ning Qi's mind. She remembered seeing the world collapse before she saved Yan Chongyan in the Demon Realm! It turned out that it had actually happened!

"Why did you kill him?" Ning Xi asked.

Xiao Sui's eyes flickered. "I...I don't just want to kill him, I want to kill everyone..."

Ning Qi thought of his devastating character in the original book, which did fit his ending, but she would definitely stop him. "What about me? You want to kill me too?"

Xiao Sui looked at her with a panicked expression, "No, how could I possibly not even know you..."

"Then how come..." Ning Qi suddenly realized, "I'm already dead."

Xiao Sui suddenly covered her mouth, looking at her pitifully, "Please don't say such things."

Ning Qi kissed his palm and pulled his hand away. "I know, so how did I die?"

Xiao Sui looked at her, somewhat distraught, "I don't want to talk about it."

Ning Qi pouted, "You have to tell me so I can avoid the same ending!"

“It won’t happen again,” Xiao Sui said firmly.

"How can you be so sure?" Ning Qi asked skeptically.

Xiao Sui looked at her stubbornly, "I'm sure this can be avoided."

No matter how much Ning Xi asked after that, he refused to say more, as if answering the question was a very painful thing for him.

Xiao Sui then summoned the demonic doctor to examine her body. The demonic doctor probably thought she had mutated, and he trembled as he took her pulse. He opened his eyes in surprise and said, "This young lady's symptoms have completely disappeared, and her pulse has returned to normal."

Xiao Sui visibly breathed a sigh of relief, had the magic doctor write out the prescription, and then instructed his servants to brew the medicine.

Ning Qi called out to the system in her mind, "Now it's your turn to explain how a mission taker like me could have so many memories."

System: "It might be due to the original owner's memories..."

"Don't give me that nonsense." Ning Xi interrupted it directly. "I'm not a mission taker at all. I'm just Ning Xi, the cannon fodder female supporting character in the original book, right?"

The system paused for a moment, then said, "That's not important. Your soul is bound to mine. Regardless of your past identity, you are now a mission taker."

Ning Qi laughed angrily, "Not important? You knew my identity, yet you altered my memories and tricked me into leaving my own world!"

“Doing this won’t do you any harm,” the system said. “As long as you complete the missions safely, you can obtain a new identity and a lifespan longer than you imagine.”

“But I don’t need any of that,” Ning Qi said. “I just want to live a peaceful life with Xiao Sui for the rest of my life.”

System: "...Then you must ensure the male lead doesn't die, and ideally the villain's power shouldn't exceed that of the male lead."

"Do I really need to balance all of this? Why should he be the male lead when he's so useless?" Ning Xi couldn't help but say.

The conversation with the system ended abruptly, and Xiao Sui had already returned to his room. Ning Qi's gaze swept over something in the room that was hard to ignore.

A huge iron cage, the upper part of which reached the roof beam, but the whole cage was very narrow, and it looked like it could only hold two people at most. The bottom was covered with thick soft padding, and there were handcuffs hanging on the cage.

She pointed and asked, "What's this for?"

Xiao Sui looked over, his expression frank: "It's something that makes you unable to leave me."

Ning Qi asked in surprise, "You're going to lock me up?"

"Yes." Xiao Sui admitted it quickly, without any attempt to hide it.

No, Ning Xi was shocked by his frankness. Was she going to experience forced love as well?

However, she wasn't too worried, since she believed that Xiao Sui wouldn't really hurt her.

“Then I need to go out for a bit,” Ning Xi said.

Xiao Sui did not stop him, and immediately said, "I will go with you."

"No need." Ning Qi waved her hand. "I'm going to find Zheng Xinyu. With her there, the Corpse Demon won't attack me."

What do you want with her?

Ning Qi remembered that she had injected some spiritual power into Zheng Xinyu's body before she fell into a coma, and she wanted to see if her spiritual power had any effect.

She told Xiao Sui.

“You shouldn’t go,” he said.

Ning Qi frowned. "Why? If my spiritual power really works, it can save more people and help them return to a normal life."

Xiao Sui's expression changed. "There are too many corpse demons now; you simply can't save them all."

"I'll save as many as I can." Ning Xi said as she got out of bed, stubbornly walked out of the room, asked Zhizhi to find her a sword, and left the Demon Palace.

She could sense Xiao Sui following her from a distance.

She went straight to the burrow she had been in before, and after calling out a few times, Zheng Xinyu appeared. He was very happy to see her, "Are you alright?"

Ning Xi turned around to show her, "I'm perfectly fine now. But you, have you gotten any better?"

Zheng Xinyu happily raised her arm to show her her now fair and smooth skin, "Your spiritual power has worked."

“Then I’ll send you some more.” Ning Qi’s hand grasped her other arm.

Her arms were no longer as cold and lifeless as before; they were now more elastic and warm, and began to feel like a living person.

Ning Qi returned to the Demon Palace before dark, pushed open the door to enter her bedroom, and then paused, stunned.

Inside the tall, narrow iron cage sat a man dressed in thin clothes.

When Xiao Sui saw her come in, he fastened the handcuffs to his right wrist, leaned his back against the iron cage, and left the cage door wide open.

"You... why did you lock yourself up!" Ning Qi exclaimed.

In contrast, Xiao Sui remained very calm, saying, "The key to the handcuffs is with Zhizhi, and she won't give it to me before dawn."

What are you doing?

“I’ve taken my medicine.” Xiao Sui looked up at her, leaning against the iron bars, his eyes reddening. “You can do anything to me before dawn.”

It has to be said that this was a very tempting suggestion, and Ningqi's body involuntarily squeezed into the small cage.

Because of the confined space, the two were extremely close, their breaths quickened, and Xiao Sui's heaving chest caused her arm to rise and fall with it.

"What kind of medicine are you taking?" she asked.

"This is the medicine that will cause rashes on my body if it doesn't come into contact with your saliva." Xiao Sui put his arm around her waist, bringing the two of them closer together.

"There's such a thing?" Ning Qi asked in surprise.

"Hmm." The slight tremor in Xiao Sui's chest as he spoke could be clearly transmitted to Ning Qi's heart. "I got it from the owner of Nanfeng Pavilion. He has a lot of all kinds of medicines."

“Really?” Ning Qi smiled and whispered in his ear, “Then can I try them all?”

“I will try a new medicine on you every day,” Xiao Sui promised, his cheeks already turning pink.

Ningxi's kiss landed on his face, tracing his features with her lips, then moving to his Adam's apple, lingering there for a moment, before finally reaching her favorite spot.

The texture had been restored to what it used to be. She bit down hard with her teeth, the flesh embedding itself in her flesh, and then gently ground it with the tips of her teeth.

Xiao Sui occasionally let out a soft gasp, as if he were gasping for air.

Glistening saliva and teeth marks remained on his body. Ning Qi looked at her masterpiece with satisfaction, then held him in one hand and tightened her grip on his fingers.

Xiao Sui hugged her tightly.

Ning Qi let go of his hand. "I don't care about the other places. This rash should subside in a few days, right?"

"Yes, I can," Xiao Sui said through gritted teeth.

Ning Qi leisurely left the iron cage, lay back on the bed, and admired the little Sui in the cage.

Her already thin clothes were completely torn open, revealing the teeth marks on them. The effects of the drug had clearly not completely worn off, and his breathing was much heavier than usual, but he did nothing and gritted his teeth to endure it.

Ning Qi was getting sleepy after all that fussing around, and gradually closed her eyes, not forgetting to tell him, "Don't use such troublesome antidotes next time."

Xiao Sui stared at her. In truth, only he was trapped in this iron cage. Ning Xi could walk out at any time, but he couldn't take a single step. He could only use all his tricks to take advantage of her pity and make her turn around and look at him.

He sat quietly in the cage all night.

The next day, Zhizhi came to deliver the keys. Seeing that the two had made up, she was overjoyed and kept telling Ningxi how worried she was, almost thinking that Xiao Sui had really gone mad.

“However, Qianyu is still imprisoned in the dungeon. Could you talk to Young Master Xiao about releasing her?” Zhizhi asked tentatively.

Ning Qi readily agreed, but when she went out to inquire, she learned that Xiao Sui had taken off his shackles and left the Demon Palace with the Demon Clan, and no one knew where he went.
