Chapter 39 Yearning for Him
Her thoughts were quickly captured by the soft yet forceful touch. Ning Qi's eyes welled up with tears from the kisses, and she curled her fingers up in a somewhat ecstatic way, sliding them from Xiao Sui's shoulder to his chest, kneading them through his clothes.
Xiao Sui let out a muffled groan.
A sexy, deep voice pierced through the eardrums; it was definitely not a quiet sound.
Ning Qi tensed up, like a startled bird, and instinctively looked to see if the shadow outside had moved.
Xiao Sui cupped her face in his hands, making her face him directly, a hint of helplessness in his eyes. "Princess, no one outside can hear us."
"How could that be?" Ning Xi asked in confusion.
"I have set up a formation."
The inner and outer stone caves were connected, and any sound would quickly travel out. When Xiao Sui kissed Ning Qi, his spiritual power had already spread out, not only covering her but also enveloping the entire stone chamber.
He couldn't possibly let Yan Chongyan hear a single sound from the princess, nor could he give him even the slightest chance to see the princess's flushed face.
He knew he had never had a legitimate identity.
He just wanted to enjoy this brief moment all to himself.
"Really?" The princess called out to Qianyu in surprise twice. The shadow outside remained motionless. She immediately said, "Well, Xiao Sui, you've learned to lie to me now, haven't you?"
Ning Qi raised her fist, pretending to be angry.
Xiao Sui grasped her hand, "Please punish me, Princess."
“I have to punish you properly,” Ning Qi said, holding the back of his neck and biting his earlobe.
With no worries about the future, her hands became unrestrained, causing Xiao Sui to stop and pant several times.
Until she touched him, Xiao Sui bit his lip, his muscles instantly tensing and stiffening.
He exhaled a few breaths of hot air; his body temperature was like that of a large, warm stove, with a roaring fire burning in the center.
He said in a hoarse voice, "Princess, stop fooling around."
Ning Qi was also startled by the sensation in her hand. Although it was the second time, it was still quite astonishing.
She withdrew her hand as if she had been burned.
Without the accelerator, the burning fireworks were half-burned, neither rising nor falling, hanging in mid-air, making him very uncomfortable.
Ning Xi had brought this trouble upon herself. Seeing his furrowed brow, she tentatively asked, "Do you need me...?"
Xiao Sui's breathing was a little heavy. "Could you lend me your handkerchief?"
Ning Xi's breath hitched. Instead of reaching for her handkerchief, she handed over her own sleeve.
"It'll get dirty." Xiao Sui pinched her sleeve, his hot breath right next to her hand.
“It’s alright, Qianyu has some new ones,” Ningqi said softly.
Xiao Sui grabbed her sleeve and held it tightly in his hand.
The movement of her sleeves, along with her hands, became faster and faster, and Ning Qi's face grew increasingly red.
In the dim light of the campfire, Xiao Sui panted for a long time before finally releasing her sleeve, letting out a long sigh, tilting his head back to reveal his beautifully curved Adam's apple.
The heat in her hands remained, and Ning Qi suddenly felt a secret longing.
I long for him, I want to possess him more deeply.
Xiao Sui lowered his head, panting, and no matter how careful he was, some water still splashed onto the princess's sleeve. He took out a handkerchief to wipe it off in annoyance.
How could we allow such filth to defile the princess?
"Xiao Sui," the princess's voice was softer than usual, with a slight tremor, "I helped you, shouldn't you help me?"
Was this an invitation from the princess? An unbelievable joy overwhelmed him. He looked up and felt the princess's throbbing heart and her slightly elevated body temperature.
The emotions she had managed to suppress surged up again. Ning Qi encircled his fingers, her soft voice and sweet breath drifting into his ears, "When we get back, help me well, okay?"
Xiao Sui nodded.
The shadows inside the stone chamber suddenly began to flicker, indicating that people outside were moving around.
Ning Qi put aside her thoughts and frowned. "What happened?"
Xiao Sui straightened his clothes, stood up, and said, "I'll go take a look."
——
Inside the cave outside, Yan Chongyan was somewhat anxious. "I need to go to Yuanqing County before dawn."
He had just received a message from his master saying that a corpse demon had broken out in Yuanqing County and was completely out of control. The entire city had fallen, and a large number of people had turned into corpse demons. They could only flee to a dilapidated temple in the west of the city for temporary refuge.
Qianyu immediately thought of Zhizhi, who was left behind in the city. She tried to contact her several times but received no response, so she was anxious to run out of the cave.
Yan Chongyan asked around for her and learned that Zhizhi had been taken away by Xie Xiyue and was currently at the temple, which relieved her.
"What are you going to do now? Even Master Jingyan has run away. Are you going to your death?"
"There are still many people trapped inside. Are we just going to leave them alone?" Yan Chongyan said righteously. "What's the point of having high cultivation if you're afraid to save people because you're afraid of death? Didn't you just want to go back and save Miss Zhizhi?"
Qianyu choked for a moment, then ignored it and said, "Go if you want to."
Xiao Sui came out after Yan Chongyan left and asked, "What happened?"
When Qianyu saw his swollen lips, she immediately understood what he and the princess were doing. She shook her head and said, "It's nothing. You and the princess should rest."
Those people turned their princess away, and now that she's in trouble, they won't care about her.
She wasn't a fool like Yan Chongyan, who would repay evil with kindness but how could he repay kindness?
Yan Chongyan quickly found the dilapidated temple his master had mentioned.
The small place was crowded with anxious people.
When Zhizhi saw him, she rushed over and asked, "Where is the princess? Is she alright?"
Yan Chongyan nodded. "She is safe."
Zhizhi patted her chest and said, "I was so worried about you."
"Chongyan." Xie Jingyan waved to him.
Yan Chongyan looked behind him and saw no other fellow disciples besides Xie Xiyue and another junior brother.
"Where are the others?"
Xie Jingyan shook his head with a sorrowful expression, "None of them were able to get out."
Yan Chongyan was briefly stunned. "But we were checked before entering the city, so why is this happening?"
“Some people are infected by demonic insects, and the wounds are so small that they are impossible to detect. Others behave like normal people after being infected.” Xie Jingyan sighed heavily. “It was my oversight. The only testing stone I have takes an hour to produce results, but there are too many corpse demons here, and I can’t test them all.”
Yan Chongyan said, "I just received messages from my other junior brothers and sisters through my communication talisman. They are trapped in the city."
Xie Jingyan wearily lifted his eyelids. "I have already reported the situation here to the Emperor and the Sect Master. I believe that a large force will arrive to reinforce us soon. Now we can only wait patiently."
Yan Chongyan paced impatiently for a few steps. "The longer we wait, the more dangerous it will be for them."
“You can’t do it alone. You’ve already been infected and turned into a zombie demon before you even entered the city.” Xie Jingyan shook his head, then suddenly thought, “Where’s Xiao Sui?”
“He’s with the princess,” Yan Chongyan said.
Someone nearby overheard their conversation. "Princess? I remember it was the princess who recognized a corpse demon without any clues outside the city! It's a pity we didn't believe her. If only the princess were here."
"Princess? Which princess? Can she distinguish between corpse demons?"
"Who else could it be but the emperor's only daughter, Princess Hexi?" the man said. "She is indeed quite capable."
Xie Jingyan looked at Yan Chongyan thoughtfully, "When you were outside the city, could the princess really identify the Corpse Demon?"
Yan Chongyan nodded, "That is indeed true."
"Are they... alright?" Xie Jingyan felt a little guilty recalling the forced closure of the city gates, but he could only obey orders. "Can you contact them?"
Before Yan Chongyan could answer, Xie Xiyue, who had remained silent, said, "Even if the princess has this ability, it's too dangerous. What if she really encounters a corpse demon and it threatens her safety?"
“Yes,” Zhizhi said worriedly from the side.
Xie Jingyan said helplessly, "Your father has been using the testing stone to check, why haven't I seen you worried?"
Xie Xiyue muttered softly, "How can that be the same? The princess's cultivation level is much lower than yours."
She said, "If you insist that the princess identify the corpse demon, I will go with her."
Xie Jingyan was somewhat surprised, "When did your relationship become so good again?"
Xie Xiyue did not answer him.
Xie Jingyan shook his head. "I won't let anything happen to her."
With this guarantee, Yan Chongyan took out a communication talisman and contacted Ning Qi.
Zhizhi still felt it was dangerous, but she was just a maid, and these people wouldn't listen to her.
When Ning Qi received the news, it was already slightly dawn.
She snuggled comfortably in Xiao Sui's arms and slept soundly. Stretching, she opened her eyes and saw soft lips so close to hers. She leaned in and kissed them again.
Xiao Sui had already woken up and responded gently to her, as if he were simply using this method to wake her.
After a brief moment of tender intimacy, the two parted, panting.
Ning Qi leaned on Xiao Sui's arm, adjusting her breathing.
“Yuanqing County has been occupied by the Corpse Demon. Master Jingyan sent me a message, asking me to go and clear out the Corpse Demon.”
Ning Qi snapped back to reality. "This is too dangerous! How could so many of them suddenly appear?"
"Because a corpse demon has infiltrated the county town," Xiao Sui explained to her. "I promised Master Jingyan that I would clean up the corpse demon, and reinforcements have already arrived, so you don't need to worry."
How could she not be worried? But she knew that this was the condition Jingyan Zhenren was using to help Xiao Sui conceal the fact that he had harmed King Jing.
She changed her clothes and arrived at the city gate with them, where she met up with Master Jingyan and the hundreds of cultivators who had come to their aid.
The city gates here remain tightly closed.
But in just one day, the situation completely reversed, and the outside became a safe place.
She heard countless low, urgent sounds coming from inside, which sent chills down her spine.
There are too many; there are a lot of corpse demons inside.
She gripped Xiao Sui's hand tightly, and suddenly an idea came to her.
She didn't want to go anymore. She wanted to elope with Xiao Sui and get away from all these dangers. She didn't want any of the missions or her status as a princess.
She even asked the system that question.
The system's shrill voice rang in her mind, "Give up everything? Do you want to stay in this world forever? You should know that abandoning the mission means either leaving immediately or being stuck here forever, never to return to your own world. Are you really going to go to such lengths for a man in a small world? Think about your family, think about what you've been doing all this time for!"
Ningxi's head was buzzing from its roar, and images of her parents and friends flashed through her mind. They seemed to be... crying and calling her name.
It seems she really shouldn't have given up her mission and her chance to return to her own world for a man, letting all her previous efforts go to waste.
Strangely, she wasn't deeply moved, as if she were watching someone else's story.
Is it because you've been doing tasks for so long that you're starting to forget them?
"Stop being love-struck," the system warned coldly. "It's not worth it for a man, especially a villain who could destroy the world."
But Xiao Sui was clearly not that kind of person.
"He's the villain of this world, with an important storyline. It's impossible for him to be gone so soon. You don't need to worry about him at all," the system added.
Ning Qi finally reluctantly let go of Xiao Sui's hand, and instructed him before he entered the city: "Be sure to be careful."
Xiao Sui walked at the back and nodded seriously.
Ning Qi watched him enter the city gate, and her heart clenched as she heard the sounds inside begin to become chaotic.
At this moment, Xie Jingyan came over and said to her, "Princess, there is something I need your help with."
Ning Qi was already angry with him, and said coldly, "I can't take the blame for saying that."
Xie Jingyan's throat tightened, but his attitude remained respectful. "Please help me identify the Corpse Demon. I will do my best to ensure your personal safety."
Ning Xi was led to the dilapidated temple, which was crowded with people. But when they saw her and heard that she was the princess, they all looked like they had met a savior.

Xiao Sui respected the princess very much; no one was allowed to hear them during their kiss.
