Chapter 97: The Grand Finale – Wishes Fulfilled

Chapter 97: The Grand Finale – Wishes Fulfilled

"Ning Xi, get out of there quickly! He's turned into a zombie, it's very dangerous!" Yan He's voice rang out from not far away, and a surge of spiritual energy pulled her body backward.

Ning Qi pushed away the spiritual power on her body and stared intently at Xiao Sui, whose body was covered with demonic marks. The complex and intricate symbols wrapped around his body, as if they were devouring him.

His eyes were devoid of any light, only black, like a heartless stone, cold and unfocused.

But his body temperature was very high; it was almost burning to the touch when I held his arm.

Ning Qi tentatively called out his name and asked anxiously, "Do you still recognize me?"

Xiao Sui did not answer, but opened his mouth, revealing his fangs, and stretched out his neck, which was covered with demonic marks, trying to get closer to her neck, emitting a low bird-like cry from his throat.

She examined it carefully and finally confirmed that it was a syllable that had no meaning.

Ning Qi's heart sank further and further. After absorbing a large amount of demonic energy, Xiao Sui not only turned into a corpse demon, but also seemed to have lost his mind.

It's alright, she can purify the demonic energy.

She wrapped her arms around his narrow waist, pressed herself tightly against him, and released her pure spiritual energy in an attempt to enter his body.

However, his body seemed to be covered by a layer of impenetrable demonic energy, which repelled her spiritual power. Whenever her spiritual power touched his skin, it would turn into smoke and dissipate.

How could this be! Ning Qi was extremely anxious, constantly releasing her spiritual power, completely unaware that her neck was too close to Xiao Sui's lips.

His burning lips pressed against her neck, and soon his sharp teeth rubbed against her skin.

Ning Qi raised her eyes. "Xiao Sui, do you want to eat me?"

Xiao Sui didn't respond at all, but instead poked her with his teeth.

Ning Qi pressed her cheek against his chest, slowly closed her eyes, and remained motionless. Perhaps he would have to eat his own flesh and blood to recover.

A surge of spiritual energy suddenly wrapped around her waist, pulling her away from Xiao Sui and causing her body to fall back to the mountaintop.

Ning Qi angrily raised her head, looked at the culprit Yan He, and shouted at him, "Aren't you annoying! Why do you always meddle in other people's business!"

"If I don't bring you down, he'll bite you to death," Yan He said, frowning.

Ning Qi suddenly stood up straight, unmoved by the gesture, "What does it matter to you whether I live or die?"

Yan He was taken aback for a moment, then said, "You are my fiancée in the mortal realm, so naturally we are related."

"Are you crazy? That happened so many years ago. I'm already married to Xiao Sui." Ning Xi couldn't help but scold him.

Yan He pursed his lips, his face ashen, and turned to the other immortals who were watching the spectacle. He said in a low voice, "Xiao Sui's current state is probably even more dangerous than that of the Corpse Demon King. You will follow me to seal his body here."

“No need!” Ning Qi said. “I will take him back to the Demon Realm. There is no need for you to seal him.”

“Not sealing him would definitely be a huge hidden danger,” Jiu Yuan said, raising his eyebrows.

Ning Qi glanced at the group with disdain. "Do you think you can trap Xiao Sui with your cultivation level? He has absorbed the demonic energy of the Three Realms. You are no match for him. The best way is for me to take him back to the Demon Realm and use my power to slowly purify the demonic energy on his body."

Yan He asked, "Are you sure you can purify the demonic energy within him?"

"Even if I'm not sure, do you want to leave him in the Immortal Realm as a potential threat to you?" Ning Qi asked.

Yan He's throat tightened.

After much deliberation, he finally agreed, “Alright, you can take him back to the Demon Realm, but you must put a bite stopper on him and tie his hands and feet with special iron chains to suppress his demonic energy.”

Although Ning Xi felt that his conditions were unnecessary, since they were in the Immortal Realm, bringing the person back was the most important thing, so she agreed.

Yan He ordered the celestial servants to bring handcuffs and shackles, and then said to everyone, "I am going to release Xiao Sui now. If he resists, please help me to subdue him."

Ning Xi: "I'll let him go."

Yan He said, "My cultivation level is the highest here, so you must listen to me."

Ning Qi couldn't help but think to himself, "Why is this guy so annoying? I might as well let Xiao Sui bite me when he lets go of her."

She watched as Yan He flew onto Xiao Sui, raised the jade-like sword in his hand, and with a few sharp movements, a flash of white light appeared, and the iron chain snapped.

Xiao Sui lunged directly at Yan He, his black aura sweeping towards him with a rapid sound, and his black fingernails instantly tore off a corner of Yan He's sleeve before he could dodge.

Yan He tore open his sleeve and retreated into the encirclement of several immortals, who immediately released their spiritual power in an attempt to suppress Xiao Sui.

Xiao Sui looked at them blankly, and several streams of demonic energy attacked them, trying to throw them down into the crevice. Suddenly, one of the immortals couldn't bear it and spat out a mouthful of blood, spraying out a blood mist.

"Hold on!" Yan He shouted.

But they quickly lost control of their bodies, were swept up by the demonic energy, lifted high, and then suddenly released.

Even Yan He was thrown into the air and barely managed to adjust his body before landing back on the mountaintop. Jiu Yuan, whose cultivation was inferior to his, fell directly down, but was pulled back in time by Yan He's spiritual power, thus avoiding falling into the crevice.

Yan He clutched his chest, trying to catch his breath, when a dark figure appeared before him like the wind, its sharp nails gleaming coldly.

Ning Qi called out, "Xiao Sui!"

The shadowy figure suddenly stopped; his fingernail was less than an inch from Yan He's eye. Any later and he would have gone blind.

Yan He retreated with lingering fear, only to find Xiao Sui, who had beaten them to a pulp, walking sluggishly to Ning Qi's side, standing quietly without any intention of attacking, only slightly opening his mouth and making a low sound from his throat.

Ning Qi grabbed his wrist. "Ignore these people, let's go home."

Xiao Sui's eyelashes trembled slightly, almost imperceptible unless one looked closely.

Yan He steadied his breathing and placed the handcuffs and shackles in Ning Qi's hands. "Put them on him before you leave."

Ning Qi snorted coldly, "You think you can stop us?"

Xiao Sui bared his teeth and began to stir.

Yan He said helplessly, "You have to take responsibility for the Demon Clan, right? If you just take him back like this, it will be your Demon Realm that is in danger."

Ning Qi held Xiao Sui tightly in one hand and weighed the heavy iron chain in the other. "I understand. If he tries to bite someone, I'll handcuff him immediately."

Yan He reluctantly gave them a teleportation array and let them leave.

The two quickly returned to the Demon Realm, where the teleportation array was located fifty miles from the Demon Palace.

Ning Qi's cultivation level is now very high. He took Xiao Sui with him and flew back on his sword. It took less than the time it takes to drink a cup of tea to get back.

As soon as they landed, Zhizhi and Qianyu rushed over to greet them, "We saw you and Young Master Xiao flying over from afar! How was your journey in the Immortal Realm?"

She was so excited that she kept talking, “Just now, the sky over the entire Demon Realm went dark, as if something was trying to drain all the demonic energy. Zheng Xinyu contacted me and said that apart from a few corpse demons whose bodies were severely damaged, the rest of the corpse demons in the suburbs had regained some of their senses and no longer bit people or wanted to eat human flesh.”

Ning Qi forced a smile. "That's good."

Qianyu noticed something was wrong first, "Princess, what's wrong with Young Master Xiao?"

Zhizhi peeked behind her and covered her mouth in surprise.

“Xiao Sui absorbed too much demonic energy and turned into a corpse demon,” Ning Qi said succinctly.

"What should we do then?" Zhizhi asked with a worried expression.

"I'll figure something out," Ning Qi said wearily. "I'm tired and want to take him to rest."

"Ah! Okay." Zhizhi immediately made way for them and, together with Qianyu, prepared toiletries for them.

Ning Xi brought Xiao Sui back to the house. He was very obedient the whole way and did not make any movement. He went wherever she led him.

She pushed him onto the bed, manipulated his legs to make him sit in a meditative posture, and then got onto the bed herself, placing her hands on his back to channel spiritual energy into him.

The abundant demonic energy clung to his body, leaving no gaps and preventing her spiritual power from entering.

Ning Qi pounded the bed in frustration. How could this happen? What can be done?

The familiar bed curtains suddenly reminded her of the previous night. Every time they made love, his breathing was always unstable, and his demonic energy would become chaotic.

Ning Qi's eyes lit up, and she stopped meditating, leaning out from Xiao Sui's shoulder to kiss his lips.

Hmm, it's so hot.

Xiao Sui's pupils dilated, and he opened his lips to feel the alluring fragrance so close to him. The demonic energy on his body quickly became unstable.

Ning Qi easily found a spot with little spiritual energy and poured it into it.

She didn't notice the fiery light flashing in his completely black eyes. As if discovering the pleasures of the world for the first time, he sucked on Ning Qi's lips, grinding them between his teeth, making a sticky sound.

Ning Xi's breathing became heavier. He released her to let her breathe, but his lips were not idle at all. He lowered his head and took her skin in his mouth, gently nibbling and moving to different places, as if he loved every part of her.

Ning Qi let out a soft sound from his throat, feeling comfortable, but he still had to stay alert and channel spiritual energy into his body.

The demonic mark on Xiao Sui's body seemed to be fading slowly, and she breathed a sigh of relief.

His head lowered lower and lower until it was completely buried, his hair hanging down on the couch.

The demonic energy emanating from him became even more agitated, surging towards Ning Qi.

Ning Qi felt as if she were enveloped by something warm, and a hot tongue probed inside.

"It's so hot!" she exclaimed, leaning back as her fingernails traced the muscles of his back and gripped the back of his neck tightly.

Later, Ning Qi completely forgot about purifying the demonic energy. His spiritual power and demonic energy became intertwined and completely mixed together.

As dawn broke, Xiao Sui showed no signs of stopping. Ning Qi couldn't stand him any longer, so she raised her arm and reached for the anti-biting device that was casually placed on the bedside table, and put it on his mouth.

Xiao Sui's eyes had partially recovered their whites, and he looked rather pitiful as he gazed at her.

Ning Qi said seriously, "No, you have to wear it."

She still had a few teeth marks on her body; this person was born in the Year of the Dog.

Having found the method, the next step was to practice it repeatedly. Xiao Sui became extremely engrossed in this, often staring at her longingly. He couldn't speak, but his actions and expressions said it all.

With repeated exposure, the whites of his eyes returned to normal, and the demonic mark on his body faded by more than half. However, his ability to speak had not yet recovered, and he was unable to utter complete sentences.

Ning Xi often suspected that he was faking it, wanting to take advantage of her more, but she had no proof.

As for the affairs of the Demon Clan, the Right Protector took on the majority, and Ning Qi also received a share.

She needs to deal with the people in the Demon Palace who have recovered from their corpse demon state.

Most of these people were cultivators who had transformed, and many wanted to return to the mortal realm, which Ning Qi agreed to for all of them.

She heard that the mortal realm had also begun rebuilding its homes, and everything was starting to move in a positive direction.

Three months passed, and Xiao Sui had not fully recovered, but Ning Qi gradually felt as if he were ascending to heaven.

Suddenly one day, dark purple clouds seemed to shroud the entire Demon Realm, much larger than the spectacle of her advancement to the Nascent Soul stage.

With howling winds whistling past her ears, making it almost impossible to stand, Ning Qi deliberately found a deserted spot in the wilderness on the outskirts of the city and sat down cross-legged.

The blinding white light struck down mercilessly, bringing intense pain that made Ning Qi grit her teeth.

She had a vague feeling that this heavenly lightning was Heaven's punishment for her stealing the system's abilities, and that as long as she survived it, Heaven would never pursue the matter again.

She can definitely do it.

Her hands were clenched into fists.

After being struck by five bolts of heavenly lightning, Ning Qi was somewhat weak, and the pain in her dantian was unbearable, making her want to roll on the ground in agony.

At this moment, a surge of spiritual energy entered her body and protected her dantian.

This familiar feeling made Ning Qi suddenly open her eyes and see Xiao Sui sitting not far in front of her, looking at her with gentle eyes.

“I will always be by your side,” he said.

Ning Xi almost burst into tears, "You've recovered?!"

Xiao Sui nodded, and pure spiritual energy poured out from his palm to fight against the heavenly lightning with her.

The next few lightning strikes didn't seem so scary. Ning Qi raised her head, her gaze resolute as she faced the pain.

Nine bolts of lightning struck down, the dense dark clouds gradually dispersed, the sky above the Demon Realm regained its brightness, and the white sunlight shone upon them once more.

Ning Qi coughed up the stagnant blood that had been buildup in her chest and felt incredibly light.

Xiao Sui had already come to her side and helped her up. "Are you alright?"

Ning Qi shook her head, her gaze fixed intently on him.

Now there are no more systems or tasks, only her and Xiao Sui.

They could finally live a simple and peaceful life, just as she had wished.

She smiled and kissed his lips, which were so close to hers, saying indistinctly, "Tonight is fine."

Xiao Sui's ears turned bright red as he held the back of her neck and deepened the kiss.
