Chapter 138 Rose (Hughes Novi Extra)

Chapter 138 Rose (Hughes Novi Extra)

A wild land.

There was no grass growing here, and crows were screaming on the dead branches. Novi looked calm and her face was as cold as frost.

She raised her hand and formed a seal, and a vortex door slowly appeared in front of her. The breath of death and darkness rushed towards her, mixed with the familiarity that was engraved in her soul.

She just frowned slightly and stepped forward without hesitation.

The white skirt emitting golden light was completely swallowed by the darkness. The divine consciousness instantly recognized the familiar face, but there was no surprise.

"You're finally here." The voice was low and clear, a very pleasant male voice.

Hughes leaned on the throne, his red eyes hidden under the cloak casually sizing up the god in front of him.

The unrivaled god of war in the upper realm.

As if bathed in the holy morning light, even in such a desolate and decaying wilderness, those golden eyes were still clear and serene, exuding unquestionable divinity.

Makes him want to destroy.

Why? They are of the same origin. Why should he rot in this wild land while she is so high and mighty, holy and bright?

"It seems the Goddess of Light isn't the least bit surprised that I haven't fallen." His crimson eyes fixed on her face. "Shouldn't she be upset that I'm still alive? Or perhaps, like she did a thousand billion years ago, piercing the source of my darkness with a single sword?"

The gods have no intention. They are born from the same origin and are so familiar with each other that only they know each other's weaknesses.

He originally thought that she understood him, but he didn't expect that what awaited him was betrayal.

Nuo Wei looked at her old friend. After a thousand eons, he was no longer the elegant, clear-headed, and shy young man he'd been when they'd first met. Sitting on the throne, he exuded a dark and sinister aura that even caused the light within her to retreat and resist.

It was actually slightly suppressed.

This made Novi a little surprised and uneasy.

Novi avoided his questioning, her tone as cold as water. "Hughes, was it you who did this to Shanna?"

Hughes lazily supported his side face, revealing his delicate chin and slightly raised lips.

"How can you blame me? I can only blame her for being too greedy. I just provoked her a little bit, and she lost control like a vicious woman."

"Unlike you...the Goddess of Light has no weaknesses or desires."

“It’s a shame.”

He spoke lightly, raised his hand and waved it, and the screen that appeared beside him showed Shana's miserable situation in the wilderness.

Being devoured by evil spirits every day, his soul has long been shattered.

Novi took a quick look and then looked away, looking at the god who was trapped in the black fog.

"As long as you admit your mistakes now, Father God will forgive you."

"Forgive?" Zeus let out a low, creepy laugh from his throat, as if mocking her naiveté.

"I know. Everyone thought you shattered the souls of the gods back then. Actually, that's not the case. You trapped their souls in your artifacts. Only the Star-Moon Goddess showed mercy, banishing her soul and divinity. Hughes, it's not too late to turn back now."

"What do you know!" Hughes suddenly teleported in front of Novi violently. The powerful dark power invaded her, and Novi felt pain.

The power of light in his body was actually being devoured.

She suddenly understood something, and for the first time, disbelief appeared in her golden eyes. "Hughes, what did you practice?"

He had clearly fallen completely into the devil's way.

At birth, they each possessed a book of laws, cultivating the powers of darkness and light, respectively. However, Hughes's was secretly commanded by the Father God. If he learned the power, he would be completely crushed by darkness, and no god in the world would be able to defeat him. This was one of the reasons why the gods once excluded and feared him.

Unexpectedly, in billions of years, he found a way to decipher the secret order and successfully cultivated that part of the dark power.

Darkness will devour light and also devour himself.

"Why are you so surprised? This power originally belonged to me." Hughes was very interested, observing the shock and confusion in Novi's eyes. "Do you regret not being able to kill me completely back then?"

Novi frowned seriously, looking at the face so close to her.

Half of his face was hidden in the shadows, with a pair of crimson eyes faintly visible. He was wrapped tightly in a black cloak, so unfamiliar that only his breath was familiar to her.

"Hughes, are you angry about not being able to climb the ladder, or... about me?" she couldn't help but ask. "Now that Shana has been retaliated against, is it my turn next?"

Hearing this, the smile on Hughes' lips became even weirder.

"Nothing matters anymore," he said vaguely, chuckling softly. His gaze towards her gradually became tinged with dark, complex emotions. "Anyway, there's no way you can leave here."

The moment he spoke, the sky darkened completely, not even the wind blew, and darkness enveloped him. Novi realized that the power of light in her body was completely suppressed.

How could this be... She looked at the palm of her hand, and the golden light gradually faded to nothing, making it difficult to even summon the artifact.

"Don't waste your energy, Novi. Before you came here, have you never thought about what the outcome would be?" Hughes smiled nonchalantly and watched with his own eyes as Novi's pure white skirt was stained by the dark mist.

Novi clenched her fists and said nothing. She naively believed that Hughes hadn't killed her because he still had some kindness in his heart.

I didn't expect that he had already fallen into the devil.

"How do you want to take revenge on me?" Novi stood there, her skirt entangled in evil spirits, her holy and indifferent face still solemn and cold, without a trace of embarrassment.

"You no longer have a say in what I do to you."

Hughes hated her like this the most. He waved his hand suddenly, and the scene in front of Novi began to flip rapidly.

A gloomy castle, covered in twilight roses. Dusk roses, in the twilight, offer a pleasing balance of subtle and vibrant hues. Outside the window hangs an eerie blood-red moon, and the wind tinkles the wind chimes on the windowsill.

But this is the land of death, how could there be wind?

"Do you like my masterpiece?" Xius stood by the windowsill, looking at Novi, who was bound to the bed by the demonic energy. The goddess's white wrists were bound by the black mist, stretching all the way to the head of the bed.

A wisp of dark power swayed the wind chimes. Hughes watched the scene, his slender jade-like fingertips gently stroking the pink rose that had climbed onto the windowsill.

The rose looked particularly eye-catching and enchanting against the backdrop of the blood moon.

"I remember you once said that you loved roses the most." Hughes said this, his tone gradually lowering.

Novi felt that her divine power was like a lake that was no longer rippled, and was completely restrained in the realm of death.

"Hughes, what do you want to do?" Novi didn't know how he wanted to retaliate against her. She gently closed her eyes and tried to explain. The golden seal on her forehead began to dim. "Hughes, back then I actually..."

"Don't mention the past!" Hughes seemed to have been touched, his aura of bloodlust suppressed. In the blink of an eye, he flashed in front of Novi, grabbed her jaw, and demanded, "Why you? Why you?"

They knew each other too well, just as Novi knew his death knell. It was she who had delivered the fatal blow.

He just hated the injustice, he just... wanted to be on the same ladder to heaven with her.

"Since I can no longer climb the ladder," Hughes suddenly let go, a cold smile on his face. "Then you will stay here with me forever."
