Chapter 69 Initial Suspicion

Chapter 69 Initial Suspicion

The next day, Si Tang came to the company to work. When passing by the office area, he vaguely heard the company employees discussing.

"Did you see the news yesterday?"

"What news?"

"It's fine if I didn't see it, but now the news has been blocked. They say they don't want to cause social panic."

"What's the matter? Tell me now, don't keep me hanging like this."

"A thousand-year wonder! There's a medical waste incineration site in North City, and flowers suddenly blossomed overnight. Experts are secretly studying it now. I suspect it's because the soil suddenly mutated."

"Is this true? I believe in science. This is nonsense."

"If you don't believe me, forget it. Go to that piece of land now and see that everyone is blocked outside the fence."

"Is it really that amazing? Hey, the vice president is here. Shhh, get to work."

Si Tang glanced at the employees through the glass window, and when he returned to the office, he recalled what he had just heard. He couldn't help but tap on the search page, but there were only a few words left on social media, and he really didn't know whether they were true or false.

If there are still many things in this world that cannot be explained by science...

A vague figure subconsciously flashed through Si Tang's mind. The silver fishtail seemed to be shining in the candlelight. Was it a bit like... her necklace?

She had often thought of it as something supernatural, but she always denied it because it was too absurd and bizarre.

Her thoughts converged, her eyes swept across the table, and suddenly she saw the business card that Ling Xubai handed her last time.

Ling Xubai, a top researcher in science and medicine, is extremely interested in the Atlantis civilization.

Si Tang took out his cell phone and dialed the number on the business card.

"Hello, hello." Ling Xubai's gentle voice came from the other side.

"It's me, Si Tang." Si Tang said, "Last time I mentioned that I wanted to treat Mr. Ling to a meal. Is he free this afternoon?"

There was silence for a while, and then a cough was heard. Si Tang subconsciously frowned in worry, but the other party had already replied to her with a smile.

"Yes, it would be my honor."

After work, Si Tang sent a message to Fan Yi Xiaoliu, then drove to the restaurant where he had agreed to meet Ling Xubai.

This is a Chinese restaurant. As soon as Si Tang entered, he saw Ling Xubai standing in front of the window. He was shrouded in light, like a bright moon, with a strong elegant temperament.

"Hello, Miss Sitang." He saw her, smiled and stood up. His eyes passed behind her, but he did not see her husband.

Si Tang nodded slightly and sat across from him. At this moment, the waiter came over with the menu and handed it to the two of them. Ling Xubai subconsciously asked, "Why don't I see your husband with you?"

Si Tang looked down at the menu, and his fingers paused slightly when he heard this. Then he looked up and smiled, "Yeah, he's busy."

In fact, there were some questions that he wanted to discuss with Ling Xubai, so he did not call Fan Yi.

"Oh, I see." His smile remained unchanged, but the emotion in his eyes faded a little.

By this time, the two had finished ordering Sitang's light, low-salt meals.

The waiter left, and Si Tang said, "I heard that when Mr. Ling rescued me on the island, he was investigating the location of the suspected remains of the Atlantis civilization?"

Ling Xubai's eyes lit up with interest when he mentioned this, and he nodded, "Indeed, I often went on expeditions to the Atlantic Ocean back then, and it happened that a typhoon deflected my course, and I ran into the deserted island where you were stranded."

He lowered his head and eyes, pondered for a moment before suddenly speaking, "At that time... did you feel anything unusual?"

Ling Xubai subconsciously raised his eyebrows slightly and looked across at Si Tang. He had a strong intuition that this Miss Si Tang was holding a huge secret.

"That's a lot." He narrated calmly, "For example, Miss Sitang's amnesia, and the island's illogical ecological environment."

Si Tang was silent for a long time, unsure whether to share her dreams with him. Finally, she pursed her lips and frowned as she looked at Ling Xubai.

"Mr. Ling has studied the Atlantis civilization for many years. I'd like to know... did the mermaids ever exist in Atlantis?"

The air became quiet, and the dishes were served at this time. Ling Xubai subconsciously looked at her, and no one spoke.

After the waiter left, Ling Xubai spoke in a deep voice.

"The seal of the trident has been verified by the latest salvaged relics—the very ones donated by your husband. What do you think, Miss Sitang?"

Trident... Si Tang subconsciously uttered two words.

"Poseidon..."

A strange feeling ran through her, as if something beyond her comprehension was trying to wake her up.

She couldn't help but bend down slightly, lower her head and cover her forehead. Complex hallucinations flashed through her mind, and she tried to catch but couldn't catch any of her thoughts.

"Are you okay, Miss Sitang?" Ling Xubai saw her face suddenly turn pale, and stood up worriedly, wanting to go forward and support her.

"I didn't..." Si Tang's weak voice was interrupted by a sudden voice.

"Tangtang." Fan Yi's low and mellow voice filled with worry fell into her ears, and an arm with cold body temperature wrapped around her waist, allowing her to lean her whole body on the shoulder of the person who came.

Fan Yi placed his other hand on the side of her face, looking at her pale face with concern.

"Are you okay, huh?" The voice fell gently in her ear. He was too close, and Si Tang's vision seemed a little vague. At this moment, her mind was full of those past dreams. The environment around the hot spring was strangely similar to the cave on the island.

Fan Yi's face was sometimes clear and sometimes blurry.

For a moment, I couldn't tell the difference between reality and dreams.

Ling Xubai stopped moving forward and looked at the man who was coming. He was like holding a treasure that belonged to him alone, blocking Si Tang so tightly that he couldn't even see Si Tang's face.

"Mr. Fan Yi, Miss Sitang and I were talking when she suddenly became like this. Shall I drive you to the hospital for a check-up now?" Ling Xubai said.

"No need." After opening his mouth, Fan Yi realized that his voice was a little cold. He subconsciously adjusted it and said gently, "I'll just take my wife there."

He stood up and picked up Si Tang horizontally.

Ling Xubai was just about to say that his hand was still injured and it might be inconvenient for him, but when he saw Fan Yi's hands without any scars or marks, he stopped talking instantly.

After watching Fan Yi quickly carry Si Tang away, he sat down again with a gloomy brow.

His eyes subconsciously glanced out the window beside him and saw the boy named Xiaoliu next to Fan Yi hurriedly opening the car door. The three of them drove away, and he couldn't help but support his chin with his hand.

"Interesting..."
