Chapter 7 Delicious
Si Tang spent half a month honestly and dutifully.
At least that's what Fan Yi sees.
She seemed to have truly come to terms with reality and given up on leaving. But without that stubborn resilience, Fan Yi actually felt a bit lost.
Si Tang then discovered that his eyes were becoming more and more dangerous. Every time he came to deliver food, the look in his eyes that treated her as food gradually reappeared and grew stronger day by day.
The unknown fear and despair day after day eroded her sanity constantly.
On this day, Fan Yi brought two sea fish as usual and placed them on the stone table. However, Si Tang did not roast them today, but stared at the sea fish motionlessly.
Fan Yi noticed her abnormality, stopped and looked at her with interest.
"What's wrong?"
Si Tang didn't know if it was an illusion, but she felt that his eyes were full of expectation, and he seemed very curious about what she would say next.
Si Tang swallowed, looked into his deep eyes, and said slowly, "Don't you think... they are pitiful?"
Fan Yi: “???”
Si Tang opened his lips and continued, "I mean, they are pitiful, aren't they? Being used as food..."
Fan Yi tilted his head slightly and looked at her strangely, as if analyzing the human's unusual behavior in confusion.
Can't understand.
Of course, not to mention that he didn't understand, Si Tang herself couldn't understand it, but she still insisted on continuing.
"The little fish are pitiful, aren't they? They don't want to be treated as food. Besides, all living things have spirits. What have they done wrong to deserve being treated like food by me..."
Fan Yi's confused expression did not disappear.
The corners of Si Tang's lips twitched, and he tried hard to make an expression of regret and sadness on his face.
"Such a cute little animal is going to be eaten, isn't it so pitiful..."
(Author: I got goosebumps when I wrote this paragraph out of embarrassment, hahaha)
Fan Yi just stared at her for a long moment without saying anything, as if scrutinizing every nuance of her expression. Si Tang's voice trailed off, and she felt her embarrassment almost fill the air. She wasn't sure if Fan Yi had caught the hidden meaning in her words.
As Si Tang was nervously waiting for his reaction, Fan Yi suddenly let out a low hum without any warning, followed by laughter, which became more and more intense.
Si Tang: “…”
Is this some kind of joke?
But... this fish looks too good when it smiles.
The sinister aura completely disappeared, and when the corners of his lips curled up, his deep blue eyes seemed to ripple like moonlight, reaching straight into people's hearts.
The unused trident sat there, secretly shocked. Heavenly God, had it seen right? Lord Fan Yi was actually smiling! Ever since it was born, following Lord Fan Yi, it had never seen him smile like this. When Lord Fan Yi smiled... well, someone was probably going to be in trouble.
Fan Yi seemed to have laughed enough under her embarrassed and helpless gaze, so he stopped and asked her back.
"Are you telling me to have mercy on food?"
Si Tang didn't say anything, but blinked at him, as if trying to express his innocence like the two little fish.
Fan Yi's expression was indifferent.
"Oh... In that case, let's have this for dinner today."
As he finished his lazy words, the two sea fish disappeared, replaced by a string of vegetarian mushrooms and a few green leaves.
Si Tang: “…”
He admired her depressed expression for a few seconds, and when he had admired it enough, he stood up and seemed to remember something before leaving. He looked back at her meaningfully and said.
"Human, you better stay this interesting."
Si Tang: “…”
Si Tang suddenly felt a chill.
-
Si Tang really lived a life of captivity.
Except for three meals a day, Fan Yi would come to the cave regularly to deliver food and talk to her like a pet.
In fact, she didn't want to pay attention to him at all, but Si Tang was not stupid. She had figured out something. In order to maintain the "bad taste" he wanted to get from her, she suppressed her fear and dealt with him every day.
Fan Yi came late at night that day. Although he had just come to deliver food an hour ago, he was a little bored today and wanted to come and see what the humans he raised were doing.
In front of the cave entrance is a simple swing made by Si Tang with a rope. Green vines are wrapped around it, and there are a few harmless purple flowers blooming. Every afternoon, sunlight can shine in from the open cave entrance and fall on the swing.
Every afternoon, Si Tang liked to sit on the swing and stare at the world outside the barrier from the cave in a daze.
Humans love sunlight. At least this one he kept did.
But perhaps humans are social animals, so this one also yearns for freedom.
But so what? At worst, I could catch a few of their kind from the boat to keep her company.
At this moment, Fan Yi didn't realize that his desire to eat her was no longer as strong as it used to be.
Si Tang had never been seen at the cave entrance. Fan Yi walked in nonchalantly with an expressionless face. He certainly wasn't worried that she had escaped. On the island, she couldn't escape.
In fact, he could have used instant teleportation to the inner room, but for some reason, Fan Yi walked slowly along the candlelit path.
Until his vision opened up, Fan Yi's expression suddenly paused and became a little subtle.
Steam rose from the open stone chamber, and the faint sound of running water could be heard. A thin, gauzy mist enveloped the hot spring, faintly revealing the figure of a woman leaning against the stone wall within.
The human was bathing.
In the eyes of gods, there is no distinction between men and women, and no sense of shame.
Even though Si Tang had warned him last time, Fan Yi was a person who always did what he wanted.
The mist certainly couldn't obscure his vision. So he could clearly see Si Tang scoop up a handful of water and let it fall from her chest, the ups and downs of her body captured in his vision. She tilted her head back, eyes slightly closed, her dark hair loosely tied behind her head. Her beautiful face, steaming in the mist, seemed stained with rouge. Her skin, as delicate as frozen jade, was comparable to the deep-sea pearls Fan Yi had once played with.
She was indeed too delicious when she was raw.
His eyes scanned her up and down without wavering. In his eyes, it was just a plate of food.
What a delicious look. What a sweet soul.
Fan Yi couldn't help but licking his lips.
Tsk, I really want to eat it in one bite.
Si Tang was lost in thought, enjoying the feeling of being bathed in the warm water.
It was probably thanks to that fish that her life was not really that hard now. She had spent more than a month on the island safely, with Fan taking good care of her food, clothing and other necessities, except for the threat posed by the fish itself.
But it couldn't get any worse, could it? It didn't matter if I died or not, as long as I lived long enough for tomorrow.
With a light sigh, Si Tang opened his eyes and reached towards the shore to get his clothes, but before he reached his destination, he touched his clothes.
Someone handed it to her.
Si Tang shuddered suddenly, and she came back to her senses immediately. She looked up in disbelief, and a divine face appeared in front of her like a ghost, and his dark blue and emotionless eyes looked at her indifferently.
Si Tang was frightened instantly and reflexively shrank back into the hot spring, turning his back to him and screaming.
"Ah! Hooligan!"
Fan Yi looked at her frightened expression, raised his eyebrows slightly, with no emotion in his eyes. He just watched with a little interest as her face quickly turned red and she curled up with her back to him, covering her chest.
He didn't look away or evade, and he wasn't embarrassed at all, even when a human cursed him with an unfamiliar word.
rogue?
He spent a second searching his memory for the word and surprisingly found it quite fresh.
He threw the clothes onto the shore beside her, his casual voice calm and without warmth.
"Put it on."
