Physical fitness courses are a widely accepted concept for the national team, but they are not yet fully popularized in provincial teams.
According to the traditional concept of many track and field coaches, what is physical fitness? We have to practice track and field. Isn’t the daily track and field training just physical training? Is it still necessary to do individual physical training separately?
Although in the eyes of ordinary people, in addition to the specialized training of track and field, there is also individual fitness training, which is a well-understood sub-item concept, but in the eyes of many traditional track and field coaches, this concept is difficult to digest.
Among the provincial teams, not every provincial team is equipped with a physical trainer due to different concepts and ideas. So in front of this group of trial players recruited to the national team, Su Bai also specially picked time to conduct a concept explanation course on "physical training" with these trial players.
I won’t go into how many different training items the physical training is divided into in the specific course. In short, Su Bai thoroughly instilled the concept of physical training into the minds of the track and field team’s trial athletes in the course.
In this kind of theoretical class, in addition to instilling theoretical concepts, Su Bai is actually observing every contestant in real time during the class, and confirming their ability to understand and accept new concepts from their reactions.
Nearly a week has passed since the tryouts began, and Su Bai has a basic understanding of the 60 contestants in front of him.
In general, this group of trial athletes selected for the national team have excellent physical fitness and talent. Among them, Qiu Mingjie has the strongest physical talent, and Jing Feibai has the strongest absolute speed. Another person with great potential in absolute speed is Wu Tian, whose original event was long jump.
Among the female players on trial, the one with the best talent is Yang Yi, who was harassed by Ding Ruihan because of her pretty appearance. The girl is not only good-looking, but also willing to dress herself up. She is indeed the most beautiful among all the female players. However, she is not only good-looking. Besides being beautiful, Yang Yi is also very serious and persistent in her training. She has a sense of pride and does not want others to say that she only has a pretty face. Therefore, when she is training, she is actually more fierce than other female players.
In addition to Yang Yi, there is another athlete in the women's team who is very talented in absolute speed. Her name is Lin Nan. She was originally in the women's long jump event and has strong explosive power. However, the difficulty she has in mastering the rhythm is exactly the same as Qiu Wen. The difference from Qiu Wen is that this girl knows her weakness and is very anxious. She has been working hard to make up for it. She has privately consulted many trial athletes who originally practiced 400 meters, hoping to correct her rhythm problem.
These two days, when she was asking someone how to control the rhythm, Su Bai, who happened to pass by, heard it and gave her some personal instructions. Following the rhythm Su Bai gave her, she is also on the road to rapid progress.
Although the tryouts had only been going on for a week, the athletes on tryout had already gotten to know each other’s levels and personalities.
For these trial team members, the excitement of first arriving at the national team has gradually faded. Under the guidance of Su Bai and coaches from various national teams, these trial team members have already plunged into an intense training life.
Compared with the past, there are very different training concepts, and for some athletes, new 400-meter training, which make every day of these trial team members extremely fulfilling.
The coaches in charge of various projects of these trial team members have mastered the use of the detailed training record schedule that Su Bai had given them before during this week. At the same time, in the individual explanation courses that Su Bai gave them after the training every night, these coaches gradually understood the purpose of each item on the detailed training record schedule that Su Bai had given them.
The trial team is temporarily on the right track here, and Su Bai has let go a little more. He only comes here for a certain period of time every day. During this limited time, he observes different players and then makes corresponding records of the players in his own notebook.
At the same time, he also shifted more time and energy to the current players of the national team.
Because it is currently in the season, athletes often have various competition tasks and arrangements. In the interval between competitions, it is necessary to decide whether to reduce the load on the athletes' training in advance based on the importance of the event.
Therefore, the training schedule of athletes during the season often needs to be adjusted by coaches according to actual conditions. It is also difficult for athletes to make overly complex technical adjustments and strength and endurance training that requires a long time to achieve results at this stage.
However, it would be a waste to just let athletes do regular training to maintain their condition during this period, so most coaches will choose to arrange some minor technical adjustments and improvement training for athletes during the training time between these competitions.
Su Bai is no exception.
During this period, Su Bai made adjustments to the veteran team members in the 400-meter event, which were technical improvements to the start.
The starting technique seems simple, but a well-known track and field coaching team abroad has conducted research on the topic of "the impact of various stages of sprinting on the total sprint score". Although the acceleration stage is the most important stage that affects the 100-meter score in sprinting, because the starting technique affects the acceleration stage, the starting posture alone has a greater impact on sprint results than many people imagine.
Of course, Su Bai did not intend to adjust the starting posture of all the players to the so-called "unified scientific and standardized posture". Instead, after repeated research and a large number of experiments with each person's simulated athletes in the system space, he roughly planned a starting posture suitable for each player in the team.
During this week, the training of the trial team was progressing, and the official team was certainly not neglected. Su Bai retrieved the video of each player's starting preparation posture one by one, and analyzed each player's preparation technique with everyone.
Just like when he was in the trial team, Su Bai simply opened an internal analysis course for the 400-meter event in the team. After allowing the athletes to see their own technical movements clearly, they were also able to have their own understanding of concepts such as starting technique and preparatory technique.
In the past, these athletes of the national team have certainly studied their starting preparation posture carefully, and their respective coaches have also carefully corrected their relevant postures. However, they have never seen such a large number of people collectively watching and analyzing each athlete's starting preparation posture.
When Su Bai was explaining the preparatory techniques to everyone, after looking at the pictures of everyone's preparatory postures projected onto the screen one after another, the team members present, including Zhang Ziyi, couldn't help but laugh softly.
All the contestants present here have learned the so-called textbook-level correct preparatory posture. However, learning is one thing. In fact, not every contestant can adapt to the so-called standard posture. It's like everyone knows what kind of writing posture is beneficial to health, but when it comes to actually writing, isn't it just about doing what's comfortable?
Of course, since the preparatory posture is related to the athlete's sprint performance, the athletes will still try their best to follow the coach's instructions and maintain a relatively scientific posture. However, in the actual execution process, these movements will inevitably have more or less deformation due to the athletes' respective body inertia.
For example, Qiu Wen in the picture at this moment - on the projection screen, there are pictures of Qiu Wen in the starting preparation posture taken from four directions: right, rear, left and right. From the pictures, we can see that Qiu Wen's hips habitually tilted a little to the left.
According to the standard posture, in the preparatory technique, after the athlete's hips are raised, they are required to be located in the middle between the athlete's arms and feet.
Qiu Wen's problem was actually a minor one, but it looked quite obvious, so he still blushed and looked up and down in the conference room and refused to look at the screen.
As for Zhang Ziyi, he has actually become a very rigorous technical specification template in the team. After his action diagrams and angle analysis were released, it can be seen that his muscle memory has allowed him to stick to the most standardized standards for every angle, but Su Bai still made adjustments to Zhang Ziyi's movements.
"Ah? Does Lao Zhang need to adjust all of this movement?" Qiu Wen was shocked. He couldn't figure out what needed to be adjusted in Zhang Ziyi's technical movement.
Su Bai smiled and nodded: "Ziyi's movements are very standard, but standard does not mean the most suitable."
"If there is really such a thing as the 'most correct posture' in the world, then the criteria we use when selecting athletes would probably not be who has the most explosive power, but who has the most flexible movements."
These words are rough but true. The players present also recalled that in their past training careers, they had adjusted their technical movements to a "more scientific" posture, but their performance declined.
Su Bai even pointed out directly that if Zhang Ziyi maintained his current starting preparatory posture, it would affect his force application when he pushed off the starting blocks and his forward direction after pushing off the starting blocks, making it difficult to achieve the optimal expectations.
It was only after Su Bai pointed it out that Zhang Ziyi remembered that after he had completed the technical adjustments to his starting preparatory posture, he did feel that he had not adapted well to the new technology for a while. After a brief chat with his coach Wang Ting at the time, they both felt that it might just be a short-term inability to adapt to the new technology - this situation is also common, and usually after a period of adaptation, performance will improve.
After adapting for a period of time, Zhang Ziyi no longer thought about the problem of starting technique, and instead began to tackle other training. Later, after he came under Su Bai, he didn't even think about it.
Unexpectedly, Su Bai brought up this matter again.
During this day's class, the players on the team were once again impressed by Su Bai's meticulous observation of the athletes and his keen attention to details.
More than a week has passed. Although the trial team's internal competition has not yet begun, a group of the national team's regular players are already ready to fly to the Netherlands.
A new game has begun, and this time the World Athletics Challenge in the Netherlands will also be Li Junhao's first appearance in the 400m individual event in an international arena!
