Inside the secret realm, Dongfang Mian was leading Yu Feiluan in a search for the Misty Token. Seeing Yu Feiluan following behind her without any wariness and with a face full of trust, Dongfang Mian couldn't help but sigh repeatedly.
"Mian'er, why are you staring at me like that? Is there something dirty on my face?"
No, I just thought you were adorable even when you were pretending.
Yu Feiluan blushed deeply after being scolded by Dongfang Mian, thinking to herself that she had truly met a good person.
The two searched the secret realm aimlessly for a long time without finding anything. Dongfang Mian couldn't help but ask, "Don't you have any way to sense the Misty Token?"
“No,” Yu Feiluan shook her head.
"Can you find other candidates?" Dongfang Mian thought to herself, if not, she might as well just snatch someone else's, that would be faster.
“No, but Senior Sister said she’ll send a signal once she’s found them all,” Yu Feiluan said after thinking for a moment.
Find them all and send the signal? Let her keep that nonsense to fool ghosts.
Seeing Yu Feiluan's unwavering conviction, Dongfang Mian figured this silly girl probably wouldn't follow her to steal her beloved fellow disciple's token, so she resigned herself to continuing to wander aimlessly in the secret realm.
"Oh right, after walking for so long," Yu Feiluan suddenly slapped her forehead and said, "Before I came in, my mother told me about a place. She said that if I could gain the approval of that place, it wouldn't matter whether I found the Misty Token or not."
Dongfang Mian looked at her strangely, and couldn't help but ask if she was also a spirit that had been transformed, since they always seemed to forget the most important things.
Seeing her apologetic expression, what could Dongfang Mian say? She could only follow along. It was her own fault for not watching where she was going and bumping into this little devil.
As they ventured deeper into the secret realm, Yu Feiluan, guided by the instructions of the Misty Palace Master in her mind, led Dongfang Mian through numerous traps, illusions, and various mechanisms and pitfalls, finally arriving at a cave.
"This is it," Yu Feiluan nodded, "This cave is exactly as my mother described."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go in quickly. I'll wait for you outside," Dongfang Mian urged.
Yu Feiluan was taken aback. She was rather naive and easily trusting of others, but she wasn't really stupid. Besides, the Misty Palace Master often relentlessly instilled in her the idea that all people were evil.
However, Yu Feiluan, who was kind-hearted by nature, still maintained a pure heart. Even so, she knew that everyone would be tempted by treasures, especially when it involved the important matter of the inheritance of the Misty Palace.
She had thought that Dongfang Mian would want to go in and see it with her, but to her surprise, Dongfang Mian just urged her to go in, showing no desire or curiosity whatsoever.
Yu Feiluan felt a pang of shame and gratitude, then looked at Dongfang Mian and stepped into the cave.
Dongfang Mian sat down on the ground, intending to rest for a while, since something like inheritance couldn't be obtained in a day or two.
Unexpectedly, just as Dongfang Mian closed her eyes, footsteps sounded beside her. When she opened her eyes, she saw Yu Feiluan standing in front of her with her head down.
"What's wrong? Didn't you go in to inherit the legacy?"
"After I went inside, I found two paths. One is for the heir, and the other is for the most important person to the heir. I think there must be a great opportunity at the end of that path, so I came to call Mian'er to go in."
This was unexpected for Dongfang Mian, but she still waved her hand and said, "No need. After all, this is an opportunity for your Misty Palace. You should go back and have someone else do it."
