Their arrival was perfectly timed; it happened to be the day when the Divine Sect Holy Land came to Wushuang City, where they were staying, to recruit disciples.
Wushuang City is a large city with three Holy Emperors in charge, but when the Divine Sect Holy Land came to recruit disciples, the streets were deserted.
Dongfang Mian and Aju followed the crowd. There were so many people that Dongfang Mian didn't even know where she had been pushed to. But when she could finally see her surroundings clearly, she had already reached the registration table.
A haughty female disciple looked at her impatiently and said, "Speak up, do you want me to ask them one by one?"
"What did you say?" Dongfang Mian asked, looking completely bewildered.
The female disciple impatiently tapped on a board next to the table, on which three questions were written:
1. Cultivation level and strength 2. Attributes and bloodline 3. Recommender
While looking at the document, Dongfang Mian replied, "The strength is that of a Saint King, with attributes of wood, water, and metal in his bloodline. He has no recommender."
After the female disciple finished writing it down, she looked up at Aju and asked, "What level is that cat?"
"You are the one who..." Cat, your whole family are cats, but Dongfang Mian cut off the rest of Aju's sentence.
“It is a divine beast, the Crimson-Striped Divine Tiger,” Dongfang Mian replied.
The female disciple glanced at it suspiciously for a few moments, then tossed a number to Dongfang Mian and said, "Go line up over there."
Dongfang Mian took the number plate and walked in the direction she pointed.
"Let me go! I'm going back to fight that blind old woman!" Ah Ju said angrily.
"Alright, our most urgent task right now is to get into the Divine Sect's Holy Land," Dongfang Mian reminded him.
"I know, I know, it's all for seeing Lord Rin, huh? Some people just forget their loyal beast once they have a man," Aju said irritably.
“Nonsense, I did it to repay a debt of gratitude, to repay a debt of gratitude,” Dongfang Mian retorted, her face flushed.
Holding the number plate and leading a disgruntled Ah Ju to the designated location, Dongfang Mian finally understood that the Divine Sect Holy Land required many rounds of assessments to recruit disciples, and she had only passed the first round of interviews.
The second round is to verify whether what you said in the first round is true. We can't just recruit someone based on your one-sided story.
Dongfang Mian slowly lined up with her number tag in hand. When it was her turn, she handed it over. The disciple in charge of the test first affixed the number tag to a stone chair, then had Dongfang Mian sit down. A light shone, proving that Dongfang Mian was not lying and that her true strength matched what she had said.
Then she was made to demonstrate the three types of spiritual energy she had mentioned. She was then grabbed by Aju and thrown onto a testing platform to verify the divine beast's bloodline. After that, a number plate was thrown over, and Dongfang Mian was told to line up at the third round of screening.
