Chapter 80 Burn!

Dongfang Mian and Yuwen Hao followed the man in black all the way to the gate of the courtyard before stopping.

“Our mission is complete. Now we can go back and report,” Yuwen Hao said softly.

“If we go back now, all those girls will die,” Dongfang Mian said.

“Those are just ordinary people,” Yuwen Hao said casually.

Dongfang Mian looked at him coldly, "Those were all innocent lives."

Just like when I was "abandoned" in the wilderness, if it weren't for that kind old deity saving me, I would probably be rotting in that forest by now.

Now, for those girls, they are also a source of hope for survival.

Dongfang Mian had just sized up the two men in black and found they were merely Spirit Masters. The mission description also mentioned that this was just a small family, so there probably weren't any powerful experts in this courtyard. Even if there were, she and A-Mian should have no problem escaping.

"Go and inform the Luo Qing Dynasty now, and I will act according to the situation," Dongfang Mian said, and then she and Amian slipped through the crack in the door left by the man in black and entered the courtyard.

Yuwen Hao was too late to stop him, so he could only curse under his breath before retreating back into the forest to await his rescue.

In the courtyard, Dongfang Mian quietly walked in, carefully observing each step before moving forward, for fear of encountering some kind of formation.

However, it was clear that this small family in the deep mountains and forests did not have the financial resources to set up an array, and Dongfang Mian entered the inner courtyard without any hindrance.

The inner courtyard was equally silent, with no one in sight. Dongfang Mian couldn't help but feel a chill run down her spine. Suddenly, she seemed to hear the girls' cries for help again.

They quickly followed the sound and saw rows of girls kneeling on the ground, each with a short cut on their neck, from which blood was slowly flowing.

The surrounding area was filled with men in black, all watching the scene expressionlessly. At the head of the table sat an elderly man in black with a white beard, his eyes tightly closed, muttering something under his breath.

The old man's aura fluctuated between the peak of the Spirit King realm and the Spirit Emperor realm. As he chanted faster and faster, the girls' faces grew paler and paler.

It seems this old man is at a crucial stage in his advancement; if he succeeds, I'll really be outmatched.

Dongfang Mian frowned and looked around. The men in black were generally not very strong, but there were just too many of them. If they all rushed up to stop him, he was afraid he wouldn't even be able to touch the old man's beard.

At this moment, the old man in the seat of honor suddenly stood up and shouted something. All the girls in the room immediately fainted. The old man's body shone brightly, and he was obviously about to advance successfully.

Just then, Dongfang Mian's eyes lit up. After the old man stood up, Dongfang Mian realized that he had been sitting in a huge rattan chair.

“Entwined by vines,” Dongfang Mian said softly.

In an instant, the old man, who appeared to be a god descending from heaven in the eyes of the man in black, was bound tightly by the chair that had suddenly "come to life".

Because his advancement was abruptly interrupted, the old man suffered a severe backlash, gushing out mouthfuls of blood.

The scene instantly descended into chaos. Dongfang Mian laughed, jumped out, made a face at the completely bewildered men in black, then spread his arms wide and shouted, "Fire dragon, burn!"

Instantly, two fire dragons shot out from his body, engulfing all the black-clad men who rushed over. The Eastern Cotton Spirit King's strength made it as easy as chopping vegetables to deal with these spirit masters and great spirit masters.

Suddenly, a series of whooshing sounds came from behind Dongfang Mian.
