Chapter 89 Luring the Tiger Away from the Mountain

Soon, Dongfang Mian followed the group to a valley where about a hundred students had gathered, tightly surrounding a towering tree.

Looking up, Dongfang Mian saw that the tree was probably 100,000 years old, incredibly huge, with its canopy almost reaching the size of a small hill.

It seems that the spirit beast is hiding in this tree, because Dongfang Mian saw many people climbing up it.

Suddenly, the whole tree shook, knocking everyone climbing up back down. A familiar, cursing voice rang out from the canopy: "You bunch of idiots think you can catch me, the Great King? Let me tell you, even I'm afraid of myself when I get angry. Get lost, or I'll kill you all, meow~."

"A-Ju!" Dongfang Mian's eyes lit up, but soon she was conflicted again. How could she get A-Ju down from the tree? Although it looked very proud, Dongfang Mian knew it well. Usually, when it only talked and didn't fight, it was because it really couldn't beat it.

Looking at the hundreds of students in front of her, Dongfang Mian certainly couldn't kill them all like she did when dealing with the men in black during a mission. Otherwise, she wouldn't even be able to get past the dean.

After thinking for a moment, Dongfang Mian quietly retreated, found a secluded spot, wrapped herself up tightly in black, and then rushed towards the crowd.

Dongfang Mian mobilized all her spiritual energy and swept past at lightning speed, leaving only a voice behind, "A rare spiritual herb has appeared in the south. It will mature in half an hour. First come, first served, it all depends on strength."

Under the tree, after a moment of stunned silence, the crowd began to discuss among themselves.

"A rare and precious herb? Really?"

"It's definitely fake news. Who knows who didn't take it secretly but instead made a big fuss about it?"

"What if it's true?"

"Yes, these spirit beasts are hard to catch, but spirit herbs can't grow legs and run away."

"I am feeling unwell, so I will not compete with you all for the spirit beast."

"Damn it, don't think I don't know you're trying to steal the spirit herb. Wait for me!"

After a period of chaos, most of the people under the tree left. After all, even if they stayed here, they might not get a spirit beast and would only waste their time.

However, a small number of people stubbornly stayed behind, determined to win over Aju.

To these people, Dongfang Mian could only apologize. With thunderous force, she unleashed several fire dragons, and Aju also launched a surprise attack from the treetops, catching everyone off guard.

Everyone's memory is of being attacked by a man in black who suddenly appeared, then collapsing to the ground. Even after waking up, they were unable to figure out the man's identity, but the spirit beast on the big tree had disappeared.

Meanwhile, Dongfang Mian led Aju a long way before changing her clothes, and they walked along without arousing anyone's suspicion.

"How did you suddenly get surrounded by so many people? Didn't I tell you not to speak?" Dongfang Mian asked.

"Don't even mention it. When I came in, I found that none of you were there, so I just found a spot to sunbathe and take a nap. Who knew that some blind fool would step on my tail? Do you think I should just let him get away with it? And that's how it happened," Aju said with an angry expression.

Dongfang Mian was speechless. Who could come in and lie on the ground to sleep like you? You'd be lucky if you weren't trampled to death.

"...Never mind, let's go find Yan Lin and Bao Bao first," Dongfang Mian originally wanted to suggest going to find the Time Grass, but then thought that Aju was completely unreliable, so she decided against it.

“I can’t sense Rin’s aura, but when I was being chased before, I seemed to smell that little poison child’s scent,” Aju said after thinking for a moment.
