Chapter 47 The Prince Saves Beauty

Chapter 47 The Prince Saves Beauty

The man stood with his hands behind his back, his eyes sweeping across the two drunks like a knife. There was a chill in his eyes that seemed to be able to freeze the air around him.

His voice was low and cold, with an unquestionable majesty:

"Get out of here if you know what's best for you. Otherwise, I will make you regret coming into this world."

The two drunks still refused to buy it, and under the influence of alcohol, there was a look of disdain and provocation on their faces.

One of them staggered forward, pointed at the man's nose, and said incoherently:

"You like Mr. Bai too, right? ...Everything is based on first come first served, ...We saw it first, why do you cut in line?"

Another drunk also echoed: "That's right...Mr. Bai was the one we liked first, who do you think you are? How dare you snatch him from us?"

As soon as they finished speaking, a cold light flashed in the man's eyes, and his figure jumped up like a ghost.

His movements were so fast that people could hardly see clearly. Only two muffled "bang" sounds were heard, and before the two drunkards could react, he kicked them to the ground.

The two men fell heavily on the bluestone road, groaning in pain.

They sobered up instantly, covered their chests, their faces turned pale, and cold sweat oozed from their foreheads.

When she looked up at the man, her eyes were filled with fear and terror.

The man stood in front of them, looking down at them, his robe swaying gently in the wind, carrying an invisible sense of oppression.

The two drunks then noticed the man's clothes - a luxurious brocade robe with delicate dark patterns embroidered on the cuffs, and a jade belt tied around his waist with a crystal clear gem inlaid on it.

Such attire is definitely not something that ordinary people can afford.

The two of them were startled and immediately realized that they might have offended someone they shouldn't have.

One of them quickly got up, knelt on the ground, and said in a trembling voice:

"Sir... I am so blind that I have offended you. Please show some mercy and forgive us this time..."

The other person also kowtowed and apologized, his tone full of fear:

"Yes, yes, we were drunk and our minds were not clear, so we offended you. Please be magnanimous and don't hold it against us..."

The man looked at them coldly, without a trace of emotion in his eyes. His voice was still cold:

"roll."

The two drunks got up quickly as if they had been pardoned, and crawled into the crowd, soon disappearing around the corner of the street.

Bai Zhuo took a step forward and bowed slightly, his expression respectful but not humble, his voice as clear and cold as jade:

"Thank you for helping me out, Bai Zhuo is very grateful. May I ask your name?"

The man's mouth corners slightly raised, a hint of amusement flashed in his eyes, and his tone was indifferent but with some deep meaning:

"No need to be so polite, it's just a small favor. Mr. Bai, are you going to the Shangshu Mansion? It just so happens that I'm going there too, so we'll see each other later."

After saying this, he flashed, his robe swaying gently in the wind, and in the blink of an eye he disappeared into the street.

Bai Zhuo stood there, looking in the direction he left, but said nothing, then turned around and got on the carriage.

---

There was a constant stream of guests at the gate of the Shangshu Mansion. Wang Qi was standing in front of the gate, with his hands clasped together, welcoming the guests who came to celebrate his birthday with a smile on his face.

Just then, a servant hurried up to him and whispered something in his ear.

The smile on Minister Wang's face froze for a moment, then his eyes lit up and he asked in disbelief:

"real?"

The servant nodded excitedly and said in a low voice:

"Absolutely."

Upon hearing this, the smile on Minister Wang's face instantly disappeared, replaced by a hint of nervousness and respect.

He walked quickly into the inner room, his steps quick but steady, secretly thanking himself for having the Crown Prince in person to attend his birthday party today.

In a side room of the Shangshu Mansion, Jing Sixuan was sitting at the table, holding a celadon teacup in his hand, sipping tea leisurely.

Minister Wang pushed the door open and walked in. The moment he saw Jing Sixuan, he immediately knelt down and spoke in a respectful yet somewhat fearful voice:

"I didn't know the Crown Prince was coming, so I failed to greet him. Please forgive me, Your Majesty."

Jing Sixuan raised his eyes and said calmly:

"No thanks. I just came here on a whim. Minister Wang, there's no need to be so polite."

Minister Wang wiped the sweat from his forehead, feeling both excited and nervous. He said quickly:

"Your Highness, the Crown Prince has come in person, which is a great honor to my humble abode. I am truly overwhelmed. Your Highness, please move to the front hall so that I can serve you properly."

Jing Sixuan waved his hand, his tone still calm: "No need, I heard that Mr. Bai came to help, I was just curious about his piano skills. Minister Wang, go and do your thing, don't worry about me."

Upon hearing this, Minister Wang immediately understood. The prince is of noble status, so it is impossible for him to go to a place like Yuxiangyuan on a normal day. However, Bai Zhuo's reputation has long spread throughout the capital, and even the prince may find it difficult to resist the temptation.

He understood and nodded quickly, "Yes, yes, I understand. If you need anything, please let me know. I will do my best."

Jing Sixuan nodded slightly, his eyes still on the teacup in his hand, as if he didn't care about what Minister Wang said. Upon seeing this, Minister Wang did not dare to say anything more and retreated respectfully.

Minister Wang walked out of the room, thinking to himself: The prince is interested in Bai Zhuo, this is a rare opportunity. If he could take this opportunity to please the prince, his position in the court would definitely be more secure.

Thinking of this, his steps became much lighter.

As the apple of Shangshu Wang’s eye, Wang Zhiyan naturally couldn’t be absent from his birthday party.

However, since she entered the palace half a year ago, she thought that with her beauty, she would be able to easily win over Jing Siye and become the mistress of the palace.

But now, half a year has passed, and Jing Siye has not even given her a status, and has never even looked at her.

Wang Zhiyan stood in the corridor of the palace, clutching a handkerchief tightly in her hand, her heart full of anxiety and unwillingness.

If she went back alone to attend her father's birthday party, how would she deal with the questions and looks from the guests?

Thinking of this, Wang Zhiyan gritted her teeth and made up her mind secretly.

No matter what, she would definitely ask Jing Siye to accompany her to celebrate her birthday today. Even if it was just to show up, it would be better than going back alone to face the ridicule.

She walked quickly towards the main courtyard, but was undoubtedly stopped by Lu Bo again.

Lu Bo looked stern but spoke respectfully: "Miss Wang, the prince is handling official business and is not available to see guests. Please go back."

Wang Zhiyan changed her usual arrogant attitude, with a flattering smile on her face, and said in a tender voice:

"Guard Lu, please inform him that Zhiyan really has something important to discuss with the prince and will not delay for too long."

Seeing her acting so abnormal, Lu Bo couldn't help but get goose bumps all over his body, and muttered to himself:

What happened to Miss Wang today? Aren't you usually arrogant? Why did you suddenly become so humble?

He hesitated for a moment, and finally nodded:

"Wait a moment, Miss Wang. I will go and inform you right away."
