Chapter 53 Bai Zhuo Enters the Palace

Chapter 53 Bai Zhuo Enters the Palace

Zhu Wenqin was safe and sound, and everyone finally put their minds at ease.

Only Wang Zhiyan's heart was filled with waves that were difficult to calm down.

She clearly ordered people to give Zhu Wenqin a muscle softening powder, and also tied his hands and feet and stuffed his mouth to ensure that he could not make any sound.

But how did Jing Siye know for sure that Zhu Wenqin was in the woodshed? Is this what they call "telepathy"?

She was puzzled and felt frustrated and unwilling. She felt that her plan had failed completely.

However, she had no time to dwell on this right now. Jing Siye's anger had obviously not subsided yet, and her situation was precarious.

Jing Siye placed Zhu Wenqin in the best room in the Shangshu Mansion and took good care of her.

Upon hearing the news, Chen Lian also hurried over and took Zhu Wenqin's pulse. After a moment, Chen Lian breathed a sigh of relief and said to Jing Siye:

"Your Majesty, although Master Zhu's life is not in danger, he has been given a muscle softening drug. It will take several hours for the drug's effect to wear off before he can resume his movements."

Upon hearing this, Jing Siye's expression became even gloomier. He turned and looked at Wang Qi, his eyes full of murderous intent, his voice as cold as ice:

"Wang Qi, at this point, what else do you and your daughter have to argue about?"

Wang Qi was already so frightened that his face turned pale. He immediately knelt on the ground and explained in a trembling voice:

"Your Majesty, please be wise! The one who framed Master Zhu must be the one who set the fire! He clearly wants to put the blame on our Shangshu Mansion! Even if I have the guts to do anything, I will never dare to touch your men!"

Seeing this, Wang Zhiyan also knelt down and bowed her head to agree:

"Your Highness, this must have been deliberately framed by someone. My father and I are loyal to you, how could we do such a treasonous thing? Besides, I am just a woman, how can I get some muscle softening powder?"

Jing Siye was silent for a moment, his brows furrowed, as if wondering whether her words were credible.

Just then, Xue Nian walked in quickly and whispered something into Jing Siye's ear.

Upon hearing this, Jing Siye raised his eyes, which had been drooping, instantly, and a sharp cold light flashed in his eyes.

He clenched his fists and his back teeth were chattering, obviously trying hard to suppress his inner anger.

After a moment, Jing Siye slowly stood up, his eyes sternly swept over Wang Qi and his daughter, his tone cold and firm:

"I will let you go today. If I find evidence next time, I will cut you into pieces."

After saying that, he turned around, gently picked up Zhu Wenqin, and walked straight out of the Shangshu Mansion.

Upon seeing this, Wang Qi and his daughter felt as if they had been pardoned. Their legs went limp and they both collapsed to the ground.

For the first time in his life, Wang Qi yelled at his daughter:

"Yan'er, just find someone to marry! Don't provoke King Zhaonan again! Today is almost my father's birthday and he died, did you know that?"

Wang Zhiyan did not answer her father's words, but just smiled coldly and whispered to herself:

"Forget it? It's not that easy. Jing Siye believed them right away? It seems that King Zhaonan is just like that."

A hint of viciousness flashed in her eyes, and she swore secretly in her heart:

Since she can't get Jing Siye, she has to destroy everything he cherishes. Zhu Wenqin is just her first step.

Jing Siye brought Zhu Wenqin back to Zhaonan Palace. He gently placed Zhu Wenqin on the bed, still feeling frightened.

If he had arrived a step later, Zhu Wenqin might have died in the fire. Thinking of this, he couldn't help but hug Zhu Wenqin tighter, lowering his head and kissing his forehead again and again, as if only in this way could he confirm his safety.

And today, the reason why he deliberately let Wang Qi and his daughter go was because Xue Nian told him in his ear that Bai Zhuo saw the prince's trace in the Shangshu Mansion.

Jing Siye immediately understood that this was definitely the work of the prince. However, the arsonist may not have been ordered by him.

After all, if the prince really wanted to capture Zhu Wenqin, he would definitely want to use him as a hostage to threaten himself, rather than hurting him immediately.

There is a high possibility that Wang Zhiyan has been "bribed" by the prince, so keeping her might be useful.

The next day, the prince sent someone to Yuxiangyuan as promised. Bai Zhuo only packed a few clothes and a pipa.

Before getting on the carriage, he looked back at the place where he had lived for ten years and swallowed his tears. Saying goodbye to this place was equivalent to saying goodbye to Jing Siye. He didn't want others to see his expression, so he quickly got into the carriage.

The carriage started slowly, and the wheels rolled on the cobblestone road, making a dull sound.

Bai Zhuo sat in the car, looking out the window at the Yuxiangyuan which was gradually disappearing into the distance. The sadness in his heart surged like a tide, and he couldn't suppress it.

Along the way, his thoughts were filled with Jing Siye, but now, everything has become a luxury.

After an unknown amount of time, the carriage slowly stopped. Bai Zhuo knew that they had arrived at the palace.

He calmed himself down, pushed open the door and got out of the carriage. Looking up, Crown Prince Jing Sixuan was standing at the gate of the palace, with undisguised excitement on his face and a different light flashing in his eyes.

Seeing this, Bai Zhuo hurriedly bowed and saluted, his voice carrying a hint of nervousness and restraint: "Greetings, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince."

Jing Sixuan raised the corners of his mouth, revealing a meaningful smile, and said in a brisk tone:

"Mr. Bai, you don't need to be so polite in front of me in the future." After saying that, he enthusiastically led Bai Zhuo towards the bedroom that had been arranged long ago.

Zhu Wenqin rested in bed for many days under Jing Siye's careful care and finally regained some energy.

On this day, there were only three days left until his uncle was beheaded.

Zhu Wenqin lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep. When he thought of the tragic fate that his uncle was about to face, he could no longer sit still.

When Jing Siye walked into the room, Zhu Wenqin immediately stood up and held Jing Siye's arm, her eyes full of anxiety and expectation:

"Your Majesty, what plans do you have? Tell Qin'er about them."

Jing Siye reached out and gently touched his head, with a gentle smile on his face, and said softly:

"Qin'er, sleep well. You don't have to worry about these."

Zhu Wenqin has always believed in Jing Siye's ability, but since it concerns his uncle's life and death, he is still a little uneasy, and this emotion unconsciously reveals on his face.

Jing Siye keenly sensed his thoughts, raised the corners of his mouth slightly, and said teasingly:

"If Qin'er can't sleep, we can do something else."

Zhu Wenqin instantly understood what Jing Siye meant, and a blush instantly appeared on her face, spreading all the way to her ears. He lowered his head quickly, and said in a voice as soft as a mosquito:

"Qin'er should get some good sleep, and Your Majesty should also go to bed early."

After saying that, he quickly lay back on the bed, closed his eyes tightly, and dared not move.

Jing Siye looked at his shy appearance, his heart full of doting, he couldn't help but kiss his cheek gently, then sat on the bed, patting his back gently, like coaxing a child, to coax him to sleep.

After Zhu Wenqin's breathing gradually became even and she fell asleep, Jing Siye got up carefully, walked out of the room quietly, and his figure quickly disappeared into the night.
