Chapter 84: The Ministers Can't Do Anything to the King

Chapter 84: The Ministers Can't Do Anything to the King

On the way back home, Zhu Wenqin sat in the carriage, opened the curtains and looked at the bustling streets outside. Unable to restrain her restless temper, she pulled Jing Siye's sleeve and said with sparkling eyes:

"Your Majesty, you finally got to come out, how about we go for a walk?"

Jing Siye looked at his expectant expression, thinking that he had been in the mansion for a long time, and this was indeed one of the few opportunities for him to come out. He could not help but soften his heart and nodded in agreement:

"Okay, whatever you want."

After receiving the approval, Zhu Wenqin was like a wild horse that had broken free from its reins, skipping and jumping through the streets.

In less than an hour, the hands of several guards were already filled with various gadgets bought by Zhu Wenqin, including colorful rattles, sachets with faint fragrance, and various foods.

Jing Siye just kept shaking his head as he looked at her, but there was a look of doting and indulgence in his eyes.

The group was tired from shopping and were about to go to an antique teahouse to drink some hot tea and take a rest.

The teahouse was filled with the aroma of tea and a warm breeze filled the air, but it was such a coincidence: just as they stepped into the teahouse, Zhu Wenshi happened to come down from upstairs.

In the middle of winter, Zhu Wenshi was wrapped in a thick sheepskin robe, which made him look even more bloated.

The two of them bumped into each other face to face. Zhu Wenqin widened her eyes and thought to herself that something was wrong. She wanted to dodge but it was too late.

When Zhu Wenshi saw him, he was stunned at first, as if he couldn't believe his eyes, and then he shouted at the top of his voice:

"Zhu Wenqin, it turns out you are really in the capital!"

After saying that, he turned his gaze to the men standing with Zhu Wenqin. Although these people were dressed in ordinary clothes, the extraordinary aura they exuded from their every move made Zhu Wenshi realize that they were no ordinary people, and - for some reason he felt that they looked familiar.

Zhu Wenshi frowned, covered his head, and tried hard to search his memory for where he had seen them before.

At this time, Zhu Wenqin was already panicking. She hurriedly leaned towards Jing Siye, looking at him with a pleading look, her eyes full of anxiety.

Seeing this, Jing Siye gently held Zhu Wenqin in his arms, patted his arm, and signaled him to relax.

"I remember now!"

Zhu Wenshi suddenly slapped his forehead, a look of sudden enlightenment appeared on his face.

"You guys are the ones who beat me up on the street that day!"

As he spoke, he looked at Zhu Wenqin again, with a hint of sarcasm on his face.

"Okay, Zhu Wenqin, I thought that figure looked familiar. It turns out it was you."

He looked up and down at Zhu Wenqin's exquisite attire and snorted disdainfully.

"It seems like he has someone to back him up. No wonder he can dress so well. As I remember, your only uncle is the only one left in your grandfather's family, and he is on the run now."

Zhu Wenqin glanced at him without showing any weakness, and said with his neck stiff:

"Yes, I have found a backer. So what?"

Zhu Wenshi sneered, and the fat on his face trembled:

"You are born to rely on your looks to make a living. However, no matter how big your backer is, can it be bigger than my father-in-law, Prime Minister Wei?"

As he spoke, he took a step closer to Zhu Wenqin, with a hint of smug arrogance on his face.

"If you kowtow to me a few times, I promise that you can enjoy wealth and glory without having to sell your body."

Zhu Wenqin listened to these insulting words, and her anger rose up in her heart and she could no longer bear it. He clenched his fist and punched Zhu Wenshi's head which was getting closer.

Although he had never practiced kung fu seriously on a daily basis, he used all his strength in this punch and hit Zhu Wenshi's nose solidly.

Zhu Wenshi screamed and blood immediately flowed from his nose.

He loosened his hand that was covering his nose, looked at the blood on his hand, and was shocked and angry. He couldn't help but curse:

"How dare you hit me?"

Then he turned to look at the followers he brought with him and shouted viciously:

"What are you still standing there for? Hit me!"

The followers were stunned for a moment, then rubbed their hands and surrounded Zhu Wenqin and others.

Jing Siye calmly pulled Zhu Wenqin behind him, and Qi Feng and Xue Nian also put down the items in their hands.

The followers also recognized them, and they all swallowed their saliva, hesitated and dared not step forward.

Zhu Wenshi was so angry that he pushed one of his followers forward.

"Hurry up and come to me, I've been raising you for nothing."

The follower who was pushed forward had no choice but to wave his fists, but before he could get close to Jing Siye, he was kicked under the table by Qi Feng.

Upon seeing this, Zhu Wenshi's arrogant attitude was somewhat weakened, but he was unwilling to give in:

"Zhu Wenqin, you are really rebelling. He is the Prime Minister's servant. If you offend him, all your backers will be in trouble."

Zhu Wenqin said nonchalantly, "So he's the prime minister's servant? I was wondering why I had never seen him before in the Zhu family."

Zhu Wenshi: "That's right, it's not too late for you to admit your mistake now. I will go back and say a few good words to my father-in-law and I won't bother with you."

Zhu Wenqin sneered, "Zhu Wenshi, do you think this is what happened in the Zhu family before? You always framed me when you did something bad, and threatened me with my mother to make me admit it. I don't know how many times I was wronged."

When Zhu Wenqin said this, her eyes reddened slightly, as if she remembered the grievances she had suffered in the past.

Jing Siye took in all the subtle changes of the little guy in front of him. His face was as gloomy as if a storm was coming. He signaled with his eyes to Qi Feng and Xue Nian who were clenching their fists beside him, then turned around and left with Zhu Wenqin.

Before I even walked out the door, I could hear bursts of wailing and the sound of tables and chairs colliding coming from inside.

When they were about to get on the carriage, Qi Feng and Xue Nian also dusted themselves off and walked out.

[It was resolved so quickly?] 】

[Those people are really good-for-nothings. They even have the nerve to claim to be Prime Minister Wei’s men.]

[However, Zhu Wenshi recognized me. What should I do when I go back and tell Prime Minister Wei? 】

[Prime Minister Wei will definitely tell the emperor, this will definitely implicate the prince,]

[It’s all my fault for being playful…]

Zhu Wenqin's eyes dimmed noticeably. Jing Siye understood everything. After sitting in the carriage, he pretended to be unaware and squeezed his palm, asking:

"What is Qin Er thinking about? She looks so unhappy."

Zhu Wenqin leaned her head on Jing Siye's arms and murmured:

"Your Majesty, I'm afraid the Prime Minister knows my identity now. What should I do from now on?"

Jing Siye touched the top of his head and said, "Qin'er, don't worry. The Prime Minister can't do anything to me."
