Lu Chengbei stayed with Lu Xingchen for a while before leaving.
Lu Xingchen sighed.
"What's wrong?"
Gu Jingyu stared at the document, but his attention was still on her.
Lu Xingchen looked at the man and said, "Nothing."
Gu Jingyu turned his head to look over and said teasingly, "Boring?"
"Hehe, a little bit!" Lu Xingchen was also tired of playing games.
Gu Jingyu curled his lips and said, "Wait a moment. I'll take you downstairs after I finish reading this document."
Lu Xingchen's eyes lit up, "Go down?"
"Yeah!" Gu Jingyu withdrew his gaze, sped up, and finished reading half of it.
Lu Xingchen smiled and scrolled through his phone waiting for him to finish.
Finally, An Lan came with dinner.
"Xingchen, are you feeling better? Mom made some delicious food. See if it suits your taste."
An Lan opened the food box and let Lu Xingchen take a look.
"Pineapple fried meat, tomato and egg, spicy beef, and a mixed mushroom soup."
Lu Xingchen took a look and although he didn’t have much of an appetite, he still decided to eat something.
"I'll eat something."
“Hey!”
An Lan was overjoyed and quickly set the small dining table. "Jingyu, come and eat with Xingchen."
"The food won't taste good if it gets cold."
"Yeah!" Gu Jingyu put down the documents and walked over. "Mom, let me do it. You take a rest."
"I'm not tired. You guys should eat quickly. It tastes better when it's hot."
The dishes An Lan prepared were all sour, sweet and spicy. Except for the beef which was spicy, the others were very light and could stimulate the appetite.
An Lan served Lu Xingchen some soup and half a bowl of rice.
"Eat a little, don't starve yourself. Once you run out of energy, you'll become listless and lifeless."
"Thank you, Mom!" Lu Xingchen took it and drank the soup.
Gu Jingyu sat down and took a piece of pineapple and fed it to her mouth, "Try it."
Lu Xingchen ate a piece and found it sour and sweet. He liked it.
An Lan stood aside and watched. Seeing that she had taken a few bites, he was very happy.
"Eat some rice. Rice is the only way to satisfy your hunger."
Gu Jingyu took a bite and fed it to him.
Lu Xingchen ate it.
Gu Jingyu picked up some meat and fed it to her, but she shook her head and didn't want to eat it.
"Have some tomato and eggs?"
He looked at her intently and asked her what she wanted to eat and then picked up whatever for her.
"Um!"
Lu Xingchen nodded.
Gu Jingyu continued to feed her, this was okay.
"Try a piece of beef?"
Gu Jingyu picked up a piece and passed it over.
Lu Xingchen looked at it and ate it after a while.
"Do you want to eat?" Gu Jingyu kept observing her, worried that she had no appetite.
"It's okay, take the pineapple."
Lu Xingchen looked at the pineapple, which was his favorite.
An Lan felt a little relieved, this was a pregnancy reaction.
"Jingyu, let her eat more pineapple, it's appetizing. It would be good if she could finish half a bowl of rice. Don't eat too much at one meal."
"Um!"
Gu Jingyu responded and continued to feed Lu Xingchen.
Lu Xingchen ate half a bowl of rice and drank half a bowl of soup.
"Do you want to eat more?" Gu Jingyu still wanted her to eat more. After all, the amount was too different from her usual appetite.
"No more."
Lu Xingchen shook his head, "Eat!"
Gu Jingyu sighed lightly, "Then drink more soup."
It’s okay to drink too much soup.
"Yeah!" Lu Xingchen nodded, drank a few sips of soup, and picked up a piece of pineapple to eat.
Seeing that she liked it, An Lan felt relieved. "Mom will prepare something else for you tomorrow. If you like pineapple, Mom will fry something else without the meat."
