He opened his mouth to say "good wishes," but shook his head with a conflicted expression.
She couldn't possibly be saying that Tang Song gave her these gifts mostly because her parents had saved his life, could she?
She shook her head repeatedly, gesturing rapidly with her hands, "Mom, how could I lie to you? He has very high standards for his girlfriend, which I can't meet. You saw the difference between us today; it's impossible for us..."
Even though Tang Song had considered forming a partnership contract with her five years later, she only thought it was a whim of his.
He never actually said it aloud, and there were five years in between.
Who knows, once Tang Song has completed his mission of raising the cubs, he might shift his attention to the female wolves in the wolf pack, and perhaps even find one he likes.
Thinking of this, the first face that came to Zhu Hao's mind was Tang Xi's aloof face and her proud and upright figure.
Tang Qiao is right, Tang Xi is the only female wolf in the wolf pack who can be matched with Tang Song.
Tang Xi not only possesses outstanding physical qualities and a beautiful appearance, but also noble character and a spirit of wholeheartedly contributing to the wolf clan.
Apart from being a bit cold-hearted, there's not a single fault about him.
Zhu Hao lowered her eyes and felt that the tail on her calf was no longer as hot as before, but much colder, which extinguished the burning emotions in her heart.
"Mom..." Zhu Hao's subordinate slowed down, "I'm not good enough for him..."
Tang Song's identity is extraordinary. The difference between them is not simply a difference in power and status, but a difference between a wolf and a human.
She had lived in the manor for so long, and she was the only human in the manor; there was no case of a human-werewolf pairing.
Furthermore, influenced by the habits of the wolf clan, she had subconsciously accepted that wolves would basically not have a future with humans.
Previously, Tang Song's inner thoughts about forming a partnership had almost confused her.
Now, facing Zhu's mother, my thoughts are much clearer.
There was no possibility between her and Tang Song.
Zhu Hao was focused on explaining and didn't notice Tang Song slowly straightening up behind her, his dark gaze passing over her head and staring intently at her nimble fingers.
“But your biological parents’ home…” Zhu’s mother had just finished speaking when she suddenly met Tang Song’s extremely imposing eyes, and she froze on the spot, swallowing the words in her throat.
Seeing her hesitant expression, Zhu Hao didn't want her to worry, so she quickly raised her hand to explain, "My biological parents are very good to me. It's just that I haven't grown up in the Fang family all these years, so I can't be truly close to them. Even if they are very wealthy, they wouldn't entrust it to a deaf-mute like me."
“No…” Mother Zhu frowned, sensing something was amiss.
“Mom…” Zhu Hao stretched out her index finger, tapped the tip of her nose, and then pressed it into her mother’s palm. “I will always be your and Dad’s daughter.”
Zhu's mother's heart skipped a beat, and she looked up again in Tang Song's direction.
Tang Song, however, returned to her previous curled-up posture, as if she was so uncomfortable from drinking that this was the only way to relieve it.
But the head that was about to fall no longer leaned towards Zhu Hao; instead, it stood upright on its own.
Zhu's mother blinked, momentarily thinking she had just imagined it.
After Zhu Hao finished gesturing that sentence, he also quieted down and used one hand to cruelly push the tip of the tail off his calf.
This time it was much easier; it came off with a gentle nudge.
Zhu Hao's eyes trembled slightly as he stared at the listless, limp tail on the floor. His heart skipped a beat, and he forced himself to look away.
The look in his eyes as he looked at Zhu's mother was one of comfort.
After a moment's hesitation, Zhu's mother asked, "Okay... were you bullied at the Fang family's house?"
Zhu Hao shook her head naturally, "Of course not, they treat me very well, but they're not as close to me as we are."
Zhu's mother opened her mouth, wanting to ask again, but Zhu Hao in front of her suddenly stood up, "Mom... I'll go call Zhu Qing in, and after I get Tang Song safely into the car, I'll leave with you."
Before he could finish gesturing, Zhu Hao turned and left in a hurry.
Zhu's mother's hand, which was trying to stop her, froze in mid-air. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught Tang Song's dark eyes staring intently at her.
It's a ghost!
Zhu's mother froze, then slowly turned her gaze away.
She was certain she hadn't misread it!
The man in front of me is perfectly sober!
"You..." Mother Zhu frowned, staring at him warily, "Aren't you drunk?"
Tang Song's eyes were perfectly clear, visibly narrowed, and he stared at her with a terrifying gaze.
Just as his pupils were about to shrink to a vertical line, the door burst open.
Zhu Hao rushed in, holding a black suit jacket, covered Tang Song's face, and looked at Zhu's mother with a terrified expression.
"Mom...you didn't see anything, did you?" Zhu Hao shielded Tang Song behind her and gestured quickly.
Mother Zhu stared suspiciously at the large mass behind her. "He doesn't seem drunk."
"No!" Zhu Hao shook her head vigorously. "He's drunk!"
She had just gone to find Zhu Qing when she learned that wolves who don't drink alcohol might lose control and reveal some of their wolfish characteristics when they get too drunk.
For example, its bright vertical pupils, its straight wolf ears, and... its large, molting tail.
Zhu Qing hurriedly squeezed into the private room and nodded apologetically to Zhu's mother, "I'm sorry, Auntie, I'll take President Tang back to sober up first."
As soon as he finished speaking, Zhu Qing raised his hand and waved, and four burly men quickly entered from outside the door and helped Tang Song to his feet.
Tang Song was carried away without any resistance, like a motionless doll.

bedroom.
Zhu Hao turned on the desk lamp, his gaze sweeping over the spotless bed in the room, and his eyes reddened.
The door lock emitted a soft, shimmering white light.
Someone is knocking on the door.
Because Zhu Hao is deaf and mute, all the locks in the house were modified by Zhu's father, who added a small motion-sensor light to each lock so that the light would turn on when someone knocked on the door.
Zhu Hao sniffed, rubbed his eyes, and opened the door.
Mother Zhu squeezed into the small room carrying a steaming bowl of egg noodles. "Your eyes were practically glued to that man all night. You didn't eat much. Eat something before you go to sleep."
Zhu's mother quietly put down her bowl, quickly closed the door, pulled Zhu Hao to sit at the table, and lowered her voice, "Shh... keep your voice down, Zhu Hong doesn't know I'm giving you special treatment, eat quickly."
Zhu Hao stared at the bowl of egg noodles on the table. The soup was white and garnished with a few scallions. Hot oil and chili oil were poured over the egg, and the oil was slowly flowing into the soup along the egg's texture, turning the white soup red.
Zhu Hao's eyes welled up with tears. He blinked hard, pursed his lips, nodded repeatedly, then sat down at the table, picked up his chopsticks, and wolfed down his food.
Zhu's mother stared silently at Zhu Hao's profile, raised her hand to brush a strand of hair behind her ear, and whispered, "Slow down, no one is going to take it from you."
Zhu Hao's cheeks were bulging, and the moment she looked up at her mother, her eyebrows and eyes lifted with delight.
On one side, life is warm and cozy; on the other, people are frowning and miserable.
Zhu Qing, her eyes glazed over, clutched the bottle of liquor, her face flushed, staring at Tang Song across from her as he opened another bottle of strong liquor. She gasped for breath, "Mr. Tang... I really... can't drink anymore..."
He remembered Tang Song not drinking? Help!!
