Tang Wu looked bewildered, but still slunk away.
They run incredibly fast, living up to the breed's reputation as rabbits, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Zhu Hao stared blankly in the direction where Tang Wu had disappeared when a bottle was suddenly shoved into her hand.
"Did you see what Tang Wu said just now?" Tang Song's wolf ears twitched excitedly, and his tail swept across the ground like a large maple leaf. "You'll be able to speak in a month, very soon."
[Great! Great! The cub can speak fluently soon!! Yay yay yay~ la la la~ lu la la lu la la~ So happy!]
A tremendous wolf howl rang in Zhu Hao's ears, making her dizzy.
She stared blankly at the white medicine bottle in her hand.
After being mute for nearly twenty years, can she really speak fluently like a normal person?
Faced with such a huge surprise, she was completely stunned, as if she were dreaming.
She had thought it would take a long time, but now that she was told it would only take a month, she was overjoyed and didn't know what to do.
The increasingly tight rope around her wrist pulled her back to reality.
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she met Tang Song's worried gaze.
[What's wrong? The cub seems unhappy. Is something wrong? This shouldn't be happening. Isn't it a good thing that it can speak fluently after only one month? Why does it look so dazed? Is it so happy it's gone crazy??]
Tang Song reached out his fingertip and gently poked Zhu Hao's arm. "Are you alright?"
【Oh no! The cub isn't moving! It's not responding to me either!! Oh no! Oh no! My cub is so happy it's gone crazy!!】
She watched as Tang Song's tail stood upright, his fur bristled, his face was full of vigilance, his muscles were tense, and his black suit was almost bursting at the seams.
Her eyes flickered slightly, and she grasped the large hand that tentatively poked the back of her hand with her own. She took a step forward and buried herself in his arms.
Tang Song froze instantly.
[Huh? Ah!! Ah!! Awooo!! The cub is so happy!! It actually hugged me!!]
Zhu Hao gave a helpless, forced smile.
He's the one who's stupid!
He's always been the dumbest one!
She closed her eyes and gently rubbed her forehead against his chest muscles; she could even feel the rise and fall of his chest.
It's getting bigger and bigger, and faster and faster.
Like a fish out of water, unable to breathe.
“Tang Song…” Zhu Hao uttered with some difficulty, “Thank you…”
[Phew~ So the cub wanted to thank me, huh? Thank goodness, I'm not stupid, hehe~]
Zhu Hao hugged him for about five seconds before pulling away, leaving Tang Song's raised hands frozen in mid-air.
He reluctantly withdrew his hand, rubbing his fingertips together.
[Ugh...why did you pull back so quickly?! I didn't even hug you! Hugs aren't one-sided!? I protest!! I protest!]
Zhu Hao's face flushed red. She glanced at his serious and handsome features, then looked at the tip of his tail, which was waving around in dissatisfaction.
She sighed inwardly, grabbed his hand, casually placed it on her waist, and hugged him again.
This time, she quickly let go in less than a second, throwing Tang Song's hand away as if it were a hot potato.
[Protest!! Protest!! Less than a second has passed!! Protest!]
Tang Song remained standing upright. If Zhu Hao couldn't hear his inner thoughts, she might really think that this upright-looking man was a mature thirty-year-old wolf.
But no!
I protest! I protest!
Best wishes. Her face was burning hot, and her waist felt hot and itchy as if branded with a hot iron.
She lowered her head, gripped the medicine bottle tightly, and angrily uttered, "Ineffective..."
Protest denied!
After saying that, she turned and ran away, almost exactly like Tang Wu had run away earlier.
Only Tang Song, the wolf, was left in the garden to feel the cold wind.
"What's invalid?" He frowned. "Did I just speak? No, right?"
As he walked towards the villa, he muttered to himself, "Has he really gone mad?"

Hospital.
Fang Ling lay pale on the hospital bed.
Sitting by the bed were Fang's parents, who looked exhausted, and Fang Ming, whose clothes were disheveled and whose hair was messy.
"Waaaaah..." When Fang's mother picked up the cotton swab again and applied it to Fang Lingrun's chapped lips, she finally couldn't hold back her tears. "Which damned bastard dared to treat my daughter like this?! Waaaaah..."
Mr. Fang rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on, staring at the unconscious Fang Ling on the bed, his mind a complete mess.
Adding to the sound of Fang's mother crying, his mind was about to explode.
He got up impatiently, took out a cigarette, and was about to light it when it was snatched away.
Mr. Fang looked up, stared at Fang Ming whose eyes were dark, paused for a moment, then rubbed his fingertips together, signaling him to leave.
Fang Ming clenched the cigarette in his hand, then threw it into the trash can, opened the door and walked out without a word.
Mr. Fang also got up and followed.
Stairwell.
"Do you know what happened to your sister?" Mr. Fang leaned against the wall with one hand and pressed his other hand against his eyes to relieve the stinging pain.
Fang Ming took out a cigarette, lit it, and held it between his fingers without smoking it, letting it burn quietly.
"Speak!!" Mr. Fang had lost his patience, his anger flaring. "Are you mute?!"
The cigarette burned to its end, burning Fang Ming's fingertips.
He seemed oblivious, calmly tossing away his cigarette butt, lighting another one, but still not smoking, just watching quietly.
Fang's father had never seen him look so dejected before, and he was so anxious that he kept scratching the back of his head.
"Dad..." Fang Ming's voice trembled as he finally spoke, "I saw a dead person."
"Tsk!" Mr. Fang said dismissively. "I know! Several people died in the hotel's third-floor lounge last night, and you collapsed at the door. The police came, and we all gave statements. You've been cleared of suspicion. And then what?"
Fang Ming remained silent, still in a daze.
"And then what?!" Mr. Fang raised his hand, about to slap him, but softened when he touched his pale face and sighed heavily.
He rubbed his face with both hands and slowly squatted down against the wall.
"Dad, those people all had their hearts ripped out."
"Yes, didn't the police say it was done by a serial killer? They caught him last night."
"But...that person...it seems like I'm the one who found him."
Mr. Fang shuddered, abruptly raising his eyes, his aged eyes turning bloodshot.
He quickly stood up, grabbed Fang Ming's shoulders, and lowered his voice, "What did you say?"
"I said... um..."
Before Fang Ming could finish speaking, his father covered his mouth.
Mr. Fang looked around warily, and only relaxed when he saw that no one was around.
He whispered in Fang Ming's ear, "Let's talk about it when we get home!"
Fang Ming's eyes trembled slightly. He glanced in the direction of Fang Ling's ward, swallowed hard, and followed his father downstairs.

At the same time, deep in the mountains.
There was not a trace of human habitation, only the roars of wild beasts and the chirping of insects.
Lying on the damp soil was something whose shape was indistinguishable.
Small, black and white, seemingly with nine tails, its slightly undulating body proclaims that it is still alive.
