Chapter 1: Everyone Reborn

On Saturday at 8 o'clock, most college students don't have classes and are basically sleeping in in their dorm rooms.

But on such a peaceful day, things were not so peaceful inside the 806 girls' dormitory.

Cheng Zhi suddenly woke up, sat up abruptly as if she had just had a nightmare, and gasped for breath.

Because she was covered in cold sweat, Cheng Zhi didn't want to stay in bed anymore. She got out of bed and saw that the other four people in the dormitory had gotten up very early for the first time ever.

Cheng Zhi glanced around and saw that everyone's expressions were not very good.

"It's Saturday, why is everyone up so early?" Cheng Zhi asked as she poured water.

Chen Siyu, who slept next to her, looked a little pale. She gripped the hem of her nightgown tightly and gave a bitter laugh. "I had a nightmare. It's strange, I usually can't remember my dreams, but last night I remembered every detail of that dream, it was just like it was real."

As soon as she finished speaking, Xiao Feiran, who was in the opposite bed, also sighed, "I also had nightmares all night long, it felt so real..." As she finished speaking, Xiao Feiran's hand unconsciously touched her neck.

After hearing these words, Cheng Zhi looked at the date on her phone, October 10, 2023, and burst out laughing.

The four roommates standing nearby were stunned and all turned their gazes to Cheng Zhi.

Cheng Zhi laughed until she was almost out of breath. Finally, she calmed herself down, stood up, and hugged each of her roommates one by one. Then, as if she were telling someone else's story, she said some seemingly crazy things.

"Friends, this is not a dream at all. It's the apocalypse... a natural disaster. We finished the remaining food in the dormitory and went out to find resources. On our first trip out, Huang Yiyi was swept away by the flood, and Zheng Wan was injured. We had no medicine, and Wan died of illness. Later, evil forces ran rampant, burning, killing, and looting everywhere. Siyu jumped off a building, Feiran was captured and had his throat slit, and I was beaten to death. We... we all died..."

The entire 806 dormitory was silent, and everyone's expression was solemn.

After a long while, Huang Yiyi covered her eyes in anguish and choked out, "So it was all true? If it weren't for saving me, Wanzi wouldn't have been injured or died."

Zheng Wan walked over and hugged Huang Yiyi, gently comforting her.

Xiao Feiran breathed a sigh of relief, pushed open the glass door of the balcony, and looked at the bright sunshine outside, with a few energetic college students carrying books. "I never thought I would see such a view again."

"So, we've been reborn?" Chen Siyu finally asked the soul-searching question.

The five people were momentarily at a loss as to what was going on.

Cheng Zhi opened her phone, browsed through messages and news, and sent a news article about "Super Typhoon Ella may make landfall in the southeastern coastal area on the 12th of this month" to the dormitory group.

As people watched this news, they began to feel afraid. This typhoon was the beginning of the apocalypse, the beginning of their nightmare.

After thinking for a moment, Cheng Zhi offered her opinion, "Our homes are all very far away, and it will take a whole day to get back. Should we stock up on some things first? In our past life, we didn't live long enough to wait for government aid. If we can live until then in this life, will we be able to survive?"

That's true. None of them are locals, and by the time they get home, the apocalypse will likely be here, leaving them with no chance to do anything.

Cheng Zhi glanced at her balance: 25,000 yuan. That should be enough to buy some food.

Everyone reported their balances, which totaled approximately 150,000.

Water, bread, canned goods, vitamins, medicine—after roughly checking the list, everyone set off in twos and threes to purchase them.

As Cheng Zhi and Xiao Feiran walked, they calculated, trying to make every penny count. They arrived at the wholesale market, and Cheng Zhi, without a second thought, ordered 200 cases of bottled water and 150 cases of bread that could be stored for a long time.

Xiao Feiran had been browsing around when a knife shop suddenly caught her attention.

Chopping knives, fruit knives... all sorts of knives gleamed coldly. Xiao Feiran picked them up one by one to try them out, and finally chose the five that suited her best before paying. She also bought two whetstones and a sickle that the shopkeeper had piled up in the corner.

When Xiao Feiran returned to find Cheng Zhi after buying the food, the water and bread were already being loaded into the car. Looking at all the things, Xiao Feiran frowned and whispered, "Speaking of which, how are we going to put all this stuff? There's only so much space in the dorm."

Cheng Zhi had considered this issue. "I've looked into it. Room 835 across the hall used to be where my senior lived. Now that she's graduated, it's an empty dorm. We can put our things there."

With so much stuff, it took half a day just to pack it all up. In the end, Cheng Zhi and Xiao Feiran got into the truck and went back to school together.

Fortunately, it was Saturday, and most students were either out having fun or staying in their dorms. They were carrying their stuff upstairs in boxes, and only a few passersby glanced at them.

As the worker carried the bottle, he asked with a smile, "What are you going to do with so much water, student?" Cheng Zhi replied with a smile, "I'm a college student starting a business, planning to open an online store to sell water."

In no time, water and bread filled 835. Zheng Wan also carried back two large boxes of medicine, buying everything from fever and cold remedies to antibacterial disinfectants and sprains.

Chen Siyu and Huang Yiyi were the last to return to their dorm, bringing back several large boxes of sanitary napkins, disposable underwear, and tissues. After all, in their past lives, a typhoon had just hit for a few days before the power and water went out, and they couldn't even wash their faces.

The opposite 835 was almost full, and the aisle of 806 was also packed. Cheng Zhi felt that leaving it outside was not a solution, and that the space should be used as rationally as possible.
