Chapter 11 The troublemakers are at it again.

Since the last grain-borrowing incident, three days later, when someone knocked on the door of room 806, they did not open it.

People were going hungry for longer and longer periods, and their mental state became less stable than before. About half of them started swearing after being rejected.

Zheng Wan held a telescope and peered through the glass door to observe the outside world, but unfortunately, it was dark and raining heavily, so she couldn't see much clearly.

After observing for a while, she turned around and shared the information with everyone: "The convenience store downstairs from Jianxing Building across the street was just vandalized by about 5 or 6 boys. They practically emptied the store."

Cheng Zhi put down the two eggs in her hand, lost in thought. "They made quite a scene smashing up the shop. Now everyone knows they have food on them. They're probably all green with envy and waiting on the stairs to rob them. How could they dare?"

"Do they really have real skills, or are they cheating too?" Xiao Feiran muttered to himself, staring out the window.

The second half of the sentence contained a great deal of information, which gave Chen Siyu goosebumps. She rubbed her arms and said, "No way, how can everyone have a cheat? If they did, they wouldn't be taking action now. They would definitely be following a similar route to us."

Chen Siyu's words make sense. The probability of having cheat codes is relatively small. If everyone had cheat codes, then everyone would hide in their own space, and the apocalypse would be a joke.

With lunchtime fast approaching, the group prepared to go into the space to cook rice and prepare vegetables.

They usually don't stay in the space unless they have to, because they don't know much about it and are afraid that the space has an expiration date. If they use up their time at the beginning, they won't have any final guarantee when things get tougher.

All four of them got up and prepared to enter the space, but one person was still at the table, locked in a fierce battle with the Blue Love Story.

Looking at Huang Yiyi's messy hair, Cheng Zhi patted her shoulder reassuringly, "You can study later. Feed the chickens and clear your head."

"Yeah, I also think I need to change my mindset." Huang Yiyi will never be happy again.

"..." Cheng Zhi was both amused and exasperated. "Sister, you misunderstood. I didn't mean for you to get a brain transplant."

Seeing that Huang Yiyi wasn't responding, Cheng Zhi dragged her into the space. As soon as they entered, they heard Chen Siyu's exclamation, and the group went to the small garden.

Chen Siyu held a white rabbit in her left hand and a yellow rabbit in her right, weighing them in her hands. "These past few days, I've felt that these two female rabbits are a bit fatter than the male rabbit. They also feel heavier when I pick them up and weigh them. Do you think they're pregnant?"

Cheng Zhi stroked the little white rabbit a couple of times. "It's possible. When we bought them, the seller said they were already 8 months old and ready to breed. Rabbits get pregnant very easily, and if we didn't plan to breed them, we had to keep the males and females in separate cages."

Huang Yiyi squatted on the ground, still expressionless, but she was willing to talk. While feeding the little male rabbit with rabbit food, she said, "Little Black, you're really amazing. You've added a lot of people to our 806... no, rabbit population, oh wait, no, a lot of food?"

Cheng Zhi, who was standing, covered the two bunny ears, and Chen Siyu kicked her directly. "What are you saying in front of the child? If you scare the child again, they won't have any more bunnies, or I'll kill you!"

While they were playfully bickering, Zheng Wan had already prepared the meal: two large plates of hot and sour shredded potatoes and steamed spare ribs with fermented black beans.

The shredded potatoes were tangy and spicy, perfect with rice; the steamed ribs were full of broth, the meat so tender it practically fell off the bone; the five of them ate quickly. After dinner, Cheng Zhi and Huang Yiyi were in charge of washing the dishes, while the other three went to work in the vegetable garden. Today they were going to harvest the first batch of vegetables they had planted, and they were quite excited about it.

Zheng Wan and the other two rolled up their sleeves and trouser legs and began to pick vegetables in the field.

Zheng Wan pulled out a plump, fresh cabbage and held it in her hand, her face beaming with joy. "It's wonderful! There are no bugs in this space, and the cabbage doesn't have a single wormhole. This is the first time I've ever seen such a perfect cabbage in my life."

When they first started planting vegetables, they didn't have much space, and they didn't plant many vegetables, so the harvest was relatively quick.

The harvest was over. The three of them shook off the dirt from the vegetables and quickly took them to the kitchen to process. The vegetables were hard-won and they had to be preserved properly.

Watching Zheng Wan skillfully lay out paper towels, sprinkle water, and bag the food, Xiao Feiran silently applauded, "This is the first time I've ever learned these preservation tips in my life."

Chen Siyu followed suit, and although she was still quite clumsy, she did each step quite well. "If Wan hadn't told me, I would have thought that washing it clean and putting it in the refrigerator was the best way. I've learned something new."

After a while, the group finished preparing the vegetables and then emerged from the space.

As soon as they opened the cabinet door, before they could even sit down, someone banged loudly on their bedroom door, the sound filled with malice.

The five of them immediately grabbed whatever was closest to them as weapons. Cheng Zhi and Xiao Feiran each took a kitchen knife and a broom, and cautiously walked forward to look through the peephole.

Standing outside the door were Chen Cuixi and five other familiar but unfamiliar people. It was Chen Cuixi who had banged on the door. She looked much more disheveled than she had been seen for a few days. Her red hair was matted together in clumps, whether from oil or water, and her face was much paler.

Even so, the noise from banging on their door was quite loud.

"Open the door, students! Didn't you hear us knocking?" a chubby girl behind Chen Cuixi said fiercely. "We've been so polite, don't be so rude! If you don't open the door, we'll smash it down!"

Cheng Zhi felt a surge of anger at his arrogant attitude. "You're polite? Even a cockroach is more polite than you. How long has it been since you washed your face? Your skin is so thick. You still dare to call yourself polite. Aren't you afraid of disgusting people?"

Xiao Feiran, standing to the side, was also furious, almost deforming the knife handle from gripping it so tightly.

The person outside the door, upon hearing someone respond from inside, was not angry at all; instead, he was amused.

He kept rubbing against the peephole, saying, "Oh, someone's here. It's good that someone's here. We didn't mean any harm. It's just that the typhoon has been blowing for so many days, and everyone is starving. Chen Cuixi told us that you have food in your dorm, so we came to buy some from you. As soon as the internet is back on, we'll transfer the money to you. We all live on the 8th floor, so we definitely won't cheat you."

Looking at everyone outside holding bottles of liquor, sticks, and other things, who would believe they were there to buy food?

Xiao Feiran spat heavily, "I've already said it, I'm not selling, get out of here."

Upon hearing this, the chubby girl's face immediately changed. She grabbed a beer bottle and smashed it against the door of room 806, scattering green shards all over the floor. "We're all classmates, we'll run into each other again. I don't want to make things too ugly. Quickly bring out your food, or I'll kill you!"
