Thinking about it carefully, this is really quite terrifying.
The man behind the door didn't seem like an ordinary person; he looked more like a floating ghost. Encountering something like this late at night, especially when you can't see clearly, is truly terrifying.
However, Cheng Zhi forcibly suppressed her creepy feeling and took out the chainsaw from her spatial storage. "First of all, I am a staunch materialist. Secondly, as long as I have enough firepower, I don't care what's on the other side."
It's unclear whether Cheng Zhi said this to comfort others or to comfort herself. However, the terrifying atmosphere did indeed lessen somewhat.
Xiao Feiran handed the stun gun to Cheng Ye, then took out a gun from his spatial storage and pointed it at the door. "What do you want to say?"
Their entryway connects directly to the living room, making the space extremely spacious, impossible to launch a sneak attack. Cheng Zhi tightened her grip on the chainsaw. "No choice, we have to face them head-on."
From beginning to end, they only heard the movement of one person. Moreover, the small platform behind the door could only support two people at most. Cheng Zhi planned to use the chainsaw to hack her way through, either killing or injuring the other person, and then leave the rest for Xiao Feiran to finish off.
Thinking that she might have a major hemorrhage later, Cheng Zhi even took off the down jacket she was wearing as the outermost layer.
The next second, Cheng Zhi opened her front door herself. The sudden opening of the door brought a gust of wind, which dispersed some of the fog on the platform, allowing Cheng Zhi to see the person's face clearly.
A tall, thin man was standing outside her balcony, his hands covered in blood, trying to saw through the barbed wire they had tied to the railing.
Clearly, the man hadn't expected the door to open by itself. He paused for two or three seconds before raising the knife in his hand towards Cheng Zhi.
He tried to say something more, but Cheng Zhi didn't give him the chance at all.
The woman opposite him suddenly produced a chainsaw from somewhere, and with her eyes closed, she swung it at him. This was the last scene of his life; he didn't utter a single word or scream.
The moment she closed her eyes, Cheng Zhi felt the warm blood splattered on her face. She immediately touched it and looked down along the railing, but couldn't see anything clearly. However, she noticed the bamboo ladder leaning against the railing. Cheng Zhi immediately lifted the bamboo ladder up and then put it into her spatial storage.
Cheng Zhi stood there for a while longer, but still saw no light source and heard no sound. She slowly reached out and touched the barbed wire beside her, confirming that it was still there on the stairs, before returning to the house.
After getting home and closing the door, Xiao Feiran turned on the living room light.
When Cheng Zhi went out with the chainsaw, Xiao Feiran knew she would most likely get splashed. So he wasn't surprised to see her like this, and simply turned on the heater to cool her down.
Cheng Ye was different. He had only ever seen so much blood in horror movies in his life. Now his sister was standing in front of him covered in blood, and he was so scared that his face turned white.
Completely out of control, he picked up a wet tissue from the side and began frantically wiping the blood off Cheng Zhi's face.
Cheng Zhi, who was sitting there, did not resist and just obediently stayed still while Cheng Ye wiped her face. "Wow, you've grown up. You didn't cry or vomit. I'm very pleased."
Actually, Cheng Ye had already smelled the bloody smell when he was wiping Cheng Zhi's face. He was indeed nauseous, but he was afraid that his sister would worry about him, so he kept enduring it. "I've seen a lot of people, this is nothing. But you, you don't wipe it yourself, you make me do it. It's disgusting."
As Cheng Ye spoke, he kept taking out new wet wipes to wipe her face until there was no blood left on Cheng Zhi's face.
During this time, Cheng Zhi kept observing Cheng Ye. His expression and words were calm and there was nothing wrong with him, but his slightly trembling hands betrayed him.
"Cheng Ye, maybe this is wrong, but it's the only way. I believe you understand. Get used to it slowly." After saying that, Cheng Zhi patted his head and left.
As Cheng Zhi walked, she took off her blood-stained pajamas and complained, "Oh dear, how come my vest is all stained? I'm going to take a shower. You should go to sleep too, don't think too much."
After entering the room, Cheng Zhi quickly slipped into her personal space and took a shower.
When she came out, Xiao Feiran was still awake, lying on the bed reading a novel. Seeing Cheng Zhi come out, she asked, "Was your brother scared? I just went out for a drink of water, and he was sitting on the floor staring blankly at the trash can."
“Isn’t this normal? It’s hard not to be scared when you see so much blood in real life for the first time.” Cheng Zhi said as she burrowed deeper into the blankets. “Give him some time to process it. Huang Yiyi and the others were also scared to the point of wanting to vomit when they first saw this kind of scene, but they were fine afterward.”
Thinking about it, Xiao Feiran sighed and turned off the light to go to sleep.
Cheng Zhi's eyes were still open in the darkness. Hopefully, Cheng Ye won't be afraid for too long and will soon be brave.
