Chapter 221 Pedal Boat

No one knows what Xiaozhi was busy with all day, but the three of them finished the work in the field and Xiaozhi still didn't come back.

Cheng Zhi glanced at the clock on the TV cabinet. "We don't necessarily have to wait for it. It'll be back sooner or later anyway."

Xiao Feiran could actually wait a little longer, but Huang Yiyi looked extremely sleepy.

Finally, Cheng Zhi came up with a compromise: "Let's take the cabinet out with us. Leave the door open so Xiao Zhi can come right over to us when he gets back."

Fortunately, the cabinet wasn't very big, and it was placed in the aisle so that the doors could be opened just right.

Huang Yiyi fell asleep the moment her head hit the pillow. Although Cheng Zhi was tired, she couldn't do what Huang Yiyi did. She tucked Huang Yiyi in and then lay down herself.

Xiao Feiran was still sitting there staring blankly into the cabinet when she suddenly thought of Chen Siyu's family situation.

She turned to look at Cheng Zhi and said in a low voice, "If the snow continues, Chen Siyu's house will soon be flooded."

Cheng Zhi nodded very confidently, "It's okay, they will come naturally when the time comes, just like when we went from Pengcheng to Yangzhou before."

Xiao Feiran realized that there were quite a few people in their two families, so she started to think about where to stay. She wished she had asked Xiao Zhi to look into this matter earlier.

Cheng Zhi, who was lying in the middle, had already closed his eyes, but he was still answering Xiao Feiran's question, "It's not necessarily true. Xiao Zhi has been gone for so long, maybe he's been scanning floor by floor, maybe he really knows which floor has an empty room."

Before Xiao Feiran could answer, Cheng Zhi added with great certainty, "Actually, I think there should be quite a few empty rooms. After all, we've been here for so many days and haven't heard any noise on the stairs."

They didn't hear any other voices; the whole building was usually very quiet.

Xiao Feiran was also tired, so she quickly lay down, hoping that Xiao Zhi could bring back some good news for them tomorrow.

Because they went to bed late, the three of them woke up a little later the next day.

As soon as Cheng Zhi opened her eyes, she went into the space and searched everywhere for Xiao Zhi.

Because she was not fully conscious, she did not notice that Xiao Zhi was at the foot of her bed, nor did she notice that she had even stepped on Xiao Zhi's foot when she got out of bed.

After searching around without finding anyone, I turned around and saw Xiaozhi walking towards me from the direction of the cabinet door.

Cheng Zhi was quite surprised, "You were checking all night, and you just got back?"

Ash, who had been inexplicably stepped on, replied, "No, Master, I've been back for a while. I saw the door open and waited for you by the bed."

At this point, Cheng Zhi hadn't yet grasped the crux of the problem. "You were waiting for us by the bed, but I didn't see you."

“Xiao Zhi did, you stepped on Xiao Zhi’s foot when you got out of bed.”

Cheng Zhi: "..."

Since the person involved had said that, what else could Cheng Zhi say besides apologizing? "I'm sorry, I wasn't very clear-headed, I really didn't see it, I was wrong. How about I lie down and you roll over me as if it's my way of returning the favor?"

How could a butler-type robot possibly run over its owner? Ash accepted the apology, but refused the rest outright.

After saying all this, Cheng Zhi became much more sober. She went to the kitchen, picked out a tea bag, brewed it for herself, and asked Xiao Zhi about what happened last night.

After a night of inspecting the building, Xiaozhi finally concluded that it was okay to stay.

However, even if they stayed, they would have to move to higher ground; living on the 13th floor was definitely out of the question.

Cheng Zhi took a sip of tea and asked, "Which floor would be more suitable for us? Are there any vacant rooms upstairs?"

Xiao Zhi said, "It is estimated that the water level may rise by 50 or 60 meters, so it may be safer to go to the 23rd floor or above. There are many empty rooms in the whole building, especially on the 15th floor and above."

This is the best outcome, and Cheng Zhi is quite satisfied with it.

Cheng Zhi already knew about their situation, so she asked Xiao Zhi to go find Chen Siyu and the others, tell them about the blizzard, and ask them to consider coming over.

Xiao Zhi left, and Cheng Zhi returned to her room after finishing her tea.

Seeing that the two people were still asleep, Cheng Zhi also wanted to go back to sleep.

As soon as she lay down and closed her eyes, Xiao Feiran woke up, and Cheng Zhi immediately told her the good news.

For some reason, perhaps because she relaxed a little, Xiao Feiran drifted off to sleep again after hearing these words.

Huang Yiyi, who was next to her, also heard it. She was even more amazing; she didn't even open her eyes and directly switched from hibernation mode to shutdown.

The three of them slept for another hour or so before they were truly awake.

Actually, it wasn't that the three of them woke up on their own initiative, but rather that Cheng's mother came and knocked on the door, "Cheng Zhi, Fei Ran, Yi Yi, are you still sleeping? It's time to get up."

Huang Yiyi, who was closest to the door, got up to open it. Xiao Feiran had already sat up and was combing her hair.

Only Cheng Zhi remained huddled under the covers, muttering, "Why do I have to get up so early when I don't have to go to work or school?"

As Cheng Zhi was saying this, her mother came in and smacked Cheng Zhi's bottom, saying, "If there's nothing wrong, you don't need to get up? You don't do any work or contribute any effort every day, so you don't need to eat either."

Cheng Zhi huddled under the covers, trying to avoid being slapped. "You're twisting the facts. They're completely different things. Sleeping in late and not eating are not comparable."

Having said she couldn't win the argument, Cheng's mother decided not to try anymore.

She originally came to call out to them, and now that they're awake, she can go back.
