Chapter 224 Melting

The night before the snow melted, Cheng Zhi clearly felt the temperature rise.

Although the others didn't say it aloud, they were indeed dressed rather lightly.

Everyone stayed in their respective rooms on their respective floors and didn't wander around. Since the number of people in each family was different, Chen Siyu and Huang Yiyi switched floors to make things more even.

Right now, Zhiyu is sticking stickers on Liuliu and Chengye.

Liu Liu was lying on the ground, half of her body was covered in stickers, and Cheng Ye's face was covered in bows and heart-shaped puppies.

Seeing that his little sister only had one or two blocks left, he wanted her to play something else. "Zhiyu, how about we play with building blocks? How about I build you a big house?"

Zhiyu shook her head and took out a brand new sticker from behind her back. "But I haven't finished putting them on yet."

Cheng Ye: "..." Why is there another one?!

Cheng Ye felt a little upset. He turned to ask, "Sis, how many are left?"

Chen Siyu, who was standing next to Cheng Ye, said considerately, "I bought her more than five or six hundred different ones before. You've worked hard."

Both the man and the dog sighed after hearing this.

Cheng Zhi sat by the window, lost in thought. Xiao Feiran walked over and waved his hand in front of her eyes. "What are you thinking about? You seem so lost in thought."

Cheng Zhi pulled her wandering thoughts back from the distance. "The snow will probably start melting tonight, which means a lot of things to do."

Xiao Feiran squatted on the ground watching his little sister put on stickers. "What do you mean?"

Cheng Zhi rubbed her face. "People live downstairs too, maybe not many, but as long as there are people, there will definitely be trouble."

Chen Siyu took a sip of water and suggested, "How about we start keeping watch from today?"

Before Cheng Zhi could say anything, Cheng Ye, whose face was covered in stickers, immediately raised her hand, "I want to participate too!"

Cheng Zhi nodded, "I'll take you out to play this time."

The four young people split into two groups, just like when they were in school, one group for the first half of the night and the other for the second half.

Without even thinking, Cheng Zhi immediately paired Xiao Feiran and Cheng Ye together.

She walked over and patted Cheng Ye on the shoulder, "Don't say I don't love you. Your sister Fei Ran is incredibly strong. You should learn from her!"

Praised, Xiao Feiran patted his chest, "Guaranteed to teach you until you learn! Of course, no refunds if you don't!"

When it was time to sleep, Cheng Zhi and Chen Siyu went to bed early.

Cheng Ye and Xiao Feiran were still sitting in the living room, one reading a novel and the other playing Sudoku.

Cheng Ye had almost filled the small box with her writing, but she still couldn't decide which number it was.

If he couldn't do it, he would seek help from outside. He took a new piece of paper, wrote it down, and handed it to Xiao Feiran, saying, "Sister, see if you can do it."

Since she had nothing better to do, Xiao Feiran took it.

It took her about 8 minutes to solve it. She handed the paper back, saying, "I didn't look at it closely. Can you check if it's correct?"

Absolutely right, Cheng Ye was truly impressed. "How come you and Cheng Zhi are both so good at Sudoku!"

Cheng Zhi didn't know why she was good at it, but the reason she was good at it was because she lived in a boarding school in high school and didn't have a cell phone, so these were the only things she could do.

Cheng Ye, who was standing next to him, burst out laughing when she heard that this was the reason. "If you can't bring it, you can hide it secretly. My high school didn't allow it either."

"..."

Xiao Feiran winked at him, "Little brother, you seem to have let something slip."

Cheng Ye returned a very polite smile, "Sis, can we not tell Mom and Dad?"

Xiao Feiran didn't speak, but just stared at him quietly, her eyes seeming to say, "What do you think?"

When playing the innocent card didn't work, Cheng Ye started playing the victim card, "Sis, I'm only 18! I've been out of school for so long, far from home, traveling all over the country, and life has already been so hard. How can you bear to say that!"

Xiao Feiran was stunned. She made a stop gesture and said, "This whole thing has nothing to do with you hiding your phone. Don't talk nonsense."

The other party was completely unresponsive, and Cheng Ye was disappointed. He sat in a corner of the sofa, looking particularly resentful.

Xiao Feiran shook his head and picked up his novel again. "This is the last time."

With just four words, Cheng Ye came back to life.

They stayed like that until after 2 a.m. Cheng Ye pressed his face against the glass, trying to look down, but "it's too dark, I can't see anything at all."

Xiao Feiran had already lay down. As she lifted her leg, she said, "Then stop watching. It's about time to go to sleep."

Whether it was fate playing tricks on her or not, a loud bang came from outside as soon as Xiao Feiran finished speaking.

Xiao Feiran stopped immediately. She got up and pressed herself against the window. There was another noise, as if something had broken and fallen.

Xiao Feiran tried hard to recall the scenery outside the window, and it seemed that she had found the answer in her heart.

She stared at the dark void in the distance and said, "Isn't there a tower over there? I guess the snow or ice on it melted and fell down."

Cheng Ye thought about it and realized there really was a tower. He was relieved. "That scared me to death. I thought someone was coming."

Xiao Feiran shook his head, "The location is different, and the sound is different too."

After the brief fright, they were no longer sleepy and even felt they could stay up until dawn.

It was Chen Siyu who sent them back to sleep.

It had been a long time since Cheng Zhi had gotten up halfway through her sleep. Her eyes were barely open, but she still wanted to eat an orange.

This left Chen Siyu speechless. "You're so sleepy, why do you still want to eat? Just how hungry are you?"

Cheng Zhi shook her head a beat late. "You're wrong. I'm not hungry. I'm just trying to stay alert."
