Chen Siyu, who was already looking through the ingredients in the kitchen, said, "What a coincidence, we haven't eaten either."
After finishing her meal, Xiao Feiran put down her chopsticks and asked them, "It's already past 2 o'clock, why did you take so long to arrive?"
Chen Siyu felt a headache coming on when she talked about this. "We went to a restaurant for lunch, but we smelled something was wrong and came back. We thought we'd tell our parents not to eat there, but when we got upstairs, we saw my little sister vomiting."
Upon hearing that their younger sister had vomited, the two women immediately became anxious.
Huang Yiyi reassured them, "Don't worry, no one ate it. Neither the adults nor the children ate it. It's just that the children have a more sensitive sense of smell, so they could smell the odor and that's why they felt nauseous."
Cheng Zhi still felt a lingering fear. She patted her chest and said, "I was almost scared to death."
After putting her mind at ease, Xiao Feiran started thinking about Zheng Wan and the others again. "But Wan and her sisters have already eaten. What if it's true, as Mom said, that the kitchen is shared?"
Huang Yiyi sat down. "Is that possible? One is a Chinese restaurant and the other is a Western restaurant. They can't possibly share the same space, can they?"
Holding a bag of beef balls, Chen Siyu said, "I also think it's unlikely. It's such a big ship, it's impossible."
Before she could forget, Cheng Zhi quickly relayed what Xiao Zhi had just said to them.
Huang Yiyi felt a chill after hearing this. "So many of them have mutated. I'm a little worried about ourselves."
Xiao Feiran sat there playing with a piece of paper. "Don't worry, if we're going to change, we'll all change together. No one can escape it."
The four of them chatted until Chen Siyu and the others finished eating their noodles before coming out.
As soon as I got back, Zheng Wan came over. I don't know what she had been through, but her face was pale.
After letting her in, Cheng Zhi went next door to find Chen Siyu.
Once everyone was there, Zheng Wan said, "Zheng Hao just took me on an adventure to the restaurant next door, and now I feel like I won't need to eat for the next three days... no, no, a week."
Cheng Zhi quickly handed her the mint-flavored nasal inhaler, "What did you see?"
Zheng Wan took a deep breath and said, "We were just bored, so we went to see what was going on. At first, it was okay, everything was normal except for the smell. But when we got to the kitchen, we couldn't hold it in anymore, ugh..."
Just mentioning it was enough to make Zheng Wan unable to stand it.
Huang Yiyi quickly handed her the trash can; thankfully, she only retched and didn't actually vomit.
After calming down a bit, Zheng Wan continued, "When we went in, they were still killing fish. As soon as the knife went down, a bunch of white stuff came out of the fish's belly. We could see from two meters away that they were worms."
One sentence was enough to disgust all five of them. Cheng Zhi grimaced and said, "And then what? They still dare to eat something like this?"
"That's what I asked too, and they said that as long as you shave and wash it clean, there won't be any problems. They also said that eels have worms too."
Xiao Feiran could already picture it in her mind. She forced herself to ask, despite her discomfort, "Did you guys look closely? Aren't the kitchens of the Chinese restaurant and the Western restaurant connected?"
Zheng Wan said with certainty, "They weren't together, and they're obviously not that big."
After recounting the disgusting things, everyone was about to vomit, so Xiao Feiran went to her spatial storage and brought back two oranges. "Eat some to calm your nerves."
Zheng Wan shook her head and refused, "No, I threw up as soon as I came back from there, and I don't want to eat anything now."
“But you can’t keep doing this,” Xiao Feiran replied.
Zheng Wan took a deep breath and thought carefully about the things in her spatial storage. "I'll have some tea; that will work too."
After saying that, she went straight into the space.
When they were leaving, Cheng Zhi told them to go upstairs and tell their parents again that they shouldn't socialize around for the next few days and that it would be safer for them to stay by themselves.
The fishy smell on the boat lingered for two days after we ate the fish that day.
Cheng Zhi and her friends didn't go to the restaurant to eat, but they would still walk around the ship from time to time wearing masks, and everyone they passed seemed to be normal.
Xiao Feiran also said, "It seems everyone is in very good physical condition; no one has developed diarrhea yet."
Cheng Zhi leaned on the railing and looked outside. "Is it possible that the people who ran away couldn't get out, which is why we didn't see them?"
They had been at sea for many days and were long tired of the endless view. Just as Cheng Zhi was about to return to her room, a man suddenly rushed out from downstairs, grabbed the railing, and began vomiting violently.
Cheng Zhi immediately withdrew, and Xiao Feiran peeked out and quickly closed her eyes.
The two quickly went back to their room. As soon as the door closed, Xiao Feiran asked, "I didn't dare to look closely. Was he seasick, or did he eat something bad?"
Despite feeling nauseous, Cheng Zhi forced herself to recall the scene from just now. "Unless he ate chocolate, he wouldn't have vomited out black stuff, right?"
Xiao Feiran patted his chest. "You know what? This reminds me of the time when there was an infectious disease outbreak. The vomit they produced was similar to this."
Xiao Feiran's words stirred up some unpleasant memories for Cheng Zhi, and she immediately stood up. "Let's go, let's go find Xiao Zhi in the space."
Upon entering the space, Cheng Zhi searched the entire house for Xiao Zhi, eventually finding it in the field.
Before it could even tidy itself up, Cheng Zhi got down and squatted down next to it, asking, "Xiao Zhi, do you know what kind of disease you get from eating that mutated fish?"
Xiao Zhi paused for a particularly long time this time. "This disease is the second time it has appeared on Earth. Humans have not yet named it. Although I cannot tell you the specific name, I can tell you about its pathogenesis."
