The sun was about to set, and they were still wandering.
Cheng Zhi sat on a chair on the balcony, looking at the last rays of the setting sun on the horizon, and couldn't help but sigh, "Xiao Zhi's 2% has finally appeared."
Chen Siyu leaned on her shoulder and said leisurely, "There are still seven hours left until the end of the day, it's not over yet."
The little girl, who had her hair in two braids today, also chimed in, "Don't be discouraged, sister. There's always hope until the very last moment!"
Nestled in the empty swimming pool, Zheng Wan kept looking through her binoculars, thinking, "Columbus discovered the New World in ancient times, and today I, Zheng Wan, will discover it too!"
They were chatting when their parents suddenly burst in excitedly.
Cheng's mother's eyes lit up, and she said to them with great joy, "Children, we can see land!"
These words nearly made Cheng Zhi's neck hurt. She turned around excitedly, "Really? Are you lying to me on purpose?"
Mr. Cheng scoffed dismissively, "I'm not as bored as you. Go see for yourself if you don't believe me."
"Of course we'll go by ourselves," the two of them stood up, and Zheng Wan climbed out of the swimming pool. The three of them headed straight for the door.
When the door opened, a large crowd was seen gathered around.
Cheng Zhi took out her phone and snapped a picture in the direction the crowd was looking. After zooming in furiously, she finally saw it.
Although blurry, it is clear that it is a small island, and there seem to be trees on it.
The others became more and more excited as they watched, while Cheng Zhi wanted to laugh more and more.
Chen Siyu saw her expression and asked, "What's wrong with you?"
Cheng Zhi took a deep breath and pointed to the tree above, saying, "It seems like we've arrived at Liu Liu's hometown."
Zheng Wan was also surprised. She whispered, "Damn, without passports, does this count as illegal exit?"
"Who has time to care about your stuff!" Chen Siyu replied without even thinking.
They didn't stay in the crowd for long. After returning to their room, they showed the photos to Huang Yiyi and Xiao Feiran.
Huang Yiyi was extremely excited, "Wow, that means I'll get to meet some handsome foreign guys!"
No one expected that she was still thinking about this. Xiao Feiran slapped her across the face. "Is that the point?"
Huang Yiyi rubbed her shoulder. "I was just kidding."
The thought of soon reaching the shore made Cheng Zhi nervous. She glanced at Liu Liu beside her feet and asked, "Can you speak Russian?"
Liu Liu tilted her head and looked at her, but did not respond.
Cheng Zhi shook her head in feigned disappointment. "We're doomed. Even this local doesn't know how. We've lost our last hope."
Xiao Feiran said with a smile, "It's alright, we can just speak English."
The mere mention of English gave Chen Siyu a headache. "My English isn't good either. If neither of us can speak English, and neither can they, then we won't be able to communicate at all?"
Cheng Zhi waved her hand, "It's not that bad. If it really doesn't work, we can just gesture. We don't necessarily have to talk."
As they were talking, it became obvious that the boat had stopped.
They peered out the window and saw a dense mass of men on the shore, all seemingly holding something in their hands—weapons or something else, they couldn't tell.
The captain did not rush off the ship, but remained on board using a megaphone to shout messages.
The five of them, who were terrible at English, couldn't understand much of what Zoe was saying. Zoe spoke very fast, and Zoe had an accent, so it was really hard for them to understand.
Cheng Zhi turned to look at them, and all four of them shook their heads in unison.
Huang Yiyi smiled and said, "All I heard were things like 'help,' 'food,' and 'navigation.'"
They shouted at each other across the distance for twenty minutes before the conversation finally ended.
Cheng Zhi thought they could pack their things and disembark, but the captain announced that they would have to stay on the ship for another five days.
Some impatient people asked, "Why do we have to wait five days?"
The captain explained, "Because they were afraid we might bring some unknown viruses, so they quarantined us for a while first."
It's actually quite reasonable. Cheng Zhi and the others don't care, since it won't make a difference if they spend five more days.
Huang Yiyi took out her vocabulary flashcards, "Just in time to learn some words."
Cheng Zhi was quite surprised to see what she was holding. "How come you still have this? Wasn't it swallowed?"
Huang Yiyi turned the book over to show them, "This is what I wrote by hand. The space probably judged it as a notebook and didn't swallow it."
Since the topic of vocabulary came up, Zheng Wan suddenly remembered something, "What about that roll of English vocabulary you gave me before? Did it get swallowed too?"
Huang Yiyi raised an eyebrow. "That possibility can't be ruled out."
For the next five days, they ate and drank as usual, completely forgetting about the language barrier.
On the day they disembarked, Cheng Zhi and her friends weren't in a hurry at all. They waited until almost everyone else had disembarked before they, a group of more than twenty people, lined up at the end of the queue.
Xiao Feiran looked down from the boat and saw several blond men.
Because they were quite far away, I couldn't see their face clearly, but they seemed to be quite tall.
She leaned forward and joked with Cheng Zhi, "How about dating a foreigner? His hair is really beautiful."
Cheng Zhi held Liu Liu's hand with one hand and tapped Xiao Feiran's forehead mercilessly with the other, "What are you thinking about all day long!"
The moment her feet touched the ground, Cheng Zhi's heart inexplicably surged. She felt the solidity and stability beneath her feet and was reluctant to lift her foot.
The white boy who was guiding them couldn't help but give Cheng Zhi a hug when he saw her like this.
He then said in perfect Mandarin, "Welcome ashore!"
Unable to bear such an enthusiastic greeting, Cheng Zhi gently pulled away and politely said thank you.
Xiao Feiran, standing behind, stared wide-eyed. "Your Chinese is so standard!"
The tall, handsome young man across from me smiled and said, "I studied abroad in Chunming before, and then I even did a master's degree, so my Mandarin is pretty good."
After explaining the situation, he introduced himself, "My Chinese name is Xia Yiwan, and I am your guide. You can just call me Yiwan."
After saying that, he looked at Cheng Zhi with his dark green eyes.
Cheng Zhi quickly added, "My name is Cheng Zhi. These are my family and friends. There are too many people, so I'll introduce them to you later."
Ivan nodded. "Let's go then, there's still a lot to do."
Everyone followed him into the woods, and the boys at the back were practically ecstatic.
Shen Lingfeng leaned against Qi Yanche and said, "Did you see that? Foreigners are so fast. You really should be careful."
Chen Yiyi was even more sarcastic, counting on his fingers, "They swapped names and hugged, and it took them three minutes? You took three months?"
Qi Yanche: "..."
