Chapter 269 Extra: Xiao and Ye (8)

As usual, Xiao Feiran drove him home, and the two of them, unusually, didn't talk much along the way.

Xiao Feiran could understand this, after all, they had just had an argument and were in a bad mood, so they naturally didn't want to chat.

When they arrived at the bus station, the two said goodbye, and Cheng Ye picked up her luggage and prepared to leave.

He was almost inside when he turned back and hugged Xiao Feiran, saying, "Wait for me to come back."

It would only be a three or four-day trip, and Xiao Feiran didn't understand why they had to be so serious about it, but she still patted Cheng Ye on the back and replied, "Okay."

Three days passed quickly. Xiao Feiran glanced at the calendar; Cheng Ye would be back tomorrow.

She glanced at the time on the wall; it was almost time to shut down her computer and go home.

When Xiao Feiran reached the door, she was stunned because Cheng Ye was sitting on the flower bed next to her company.

She rubbed her eyes and glanced at her phone again. "Aren't you not coming back until tomorrow?"

Cheng Ye smiled and said, "I'll be back as soon as I finish this. Cheng Zhi will pick me up."

Xiao Feiran walked up to him and touched his face. "Running around like this must be tiring. Just go home, rest, and wait for me."

Cheng Ye gently grasped Xiao Feiran's hand, shook her head and said, "No, I'm too anxious. I have too much to say."

Xiao Feiran thought he wanted to talk about the interesting things that had happened in the past two days since returning to school, so she immediately sat down next to him. "Then tell me, let me see what kind of trouble college students can cause during their thesis defenses these days..."

She sat down, but Cheng Ye knelt down without hesitation.

He took out two small velvet boxes from his bag, and Cheng Ye gently opened them and placed them on Xiao Feiran's lap.

Xiao Feiran was stunned when she saw the gold bracelet and gold ring.

Cheng Ye was a little nervous, and holding Xiao Feiran's hand, she said, "This bracelet was my mother's dowry. It was a pair, and one was given to Cheng Zhi. This ring is one I bought. It's much thinner than the bracelet, but it's also four nines. Cheng Zhi said you like things that hold their value, so I didn't buy a diamond ring..."

Xiao Feiran's heart skipped a beat, and she asked blankly, "Mom and Cheng Zhi both know?"

Cheng Ye nodded, "I want to marry you, and I hope that our relationship can be blessed by everyone. I also know that what you are most worried about is that your parents and Cheng Zhi will not agree, so I came clean a few days ago."

Upon learning this, Xiao Feiran panicked. She swallowed hard and asked, "So...can they accept us?"

Cheng Ye nodded, still having time to joke, "Otherwise, how do you think this bracelet ended up in my hands? Maybe I stole it."

Xiao Feiran burst into tears, laughing through her tears as she playfully punched Cheng Ye's shoulder.

Cheng Ye reached out and wiped away the tears from her eyes, then asked, "So, Fei Ran, are you willing to marry me?"

Xiao Feiran was speechless; any attempt to speak would only result in sobs. She nodded and extended her hand.

Cheng Ye quickly put the ring and bracelet on her.

Looking at the ring, Cheng Ye's eyes also reddened. He lowered his head and kissed Xiao Feiran's ring finger.

"Sister, I will be good to you for the rest of my life."
