Chapter 206 Sea Whirlwind

The little sister and Shen Lingfeng were having a great time playing "Red Light, Green Light" in the yard.

When Chen Siyu finished washing the dishes and came out, she wanted to take her to wash up, but she refused.

She hid behind Shen Lingfeng's legs and said confidently, "It's only just gotten dark, it's not time to sleep yet!"

Hearing her rebuttal, Chen Siyu put her hands on her hips and said, "First, you got up very early today and didn't take a nap at noon; second, Brother Shen Lingfeng has also been busy all day, he must be tired too."

Chen Zhiyu looked up at Shen Lingfeng, struggled for a moment, but still let go of his hand.

She was clearly reluctant to go back, and kept staring at Shen Lingfeng. "Brother, you should get some rest tonight so you can play with me again tomorrow!"

Seeing how sensible she was, Shen Lingfeng's heart melted. He patted Zhiyu's head and agreed.

Chen Siyu took his younger sister into the bathroom, and his three roommates were nowhere to be found.

In the vast courtyard, only an oil lamp and himself remained. He looked up at the sky, feeling somewhat forlorn. "I'm all alone again."

No sooner had he finished speaking than Lu Yuan suddenly pounced on him from behind, putting his arm around his shoulder. "Don't be so emotional, bro, you still have me!"

When Shen Lingfeng saw that it was Lu Yuan, he immediately burst out laughing, "How did it go? Did you manage to talk to Zheng Wan?"

Upon hearing this, Lu Yuan, who had just been happy, immediately wilted.

He shook his head repeatedly, "First, her four older sisters were watching me intently, and then my uncle was always by my side. How could I dare to say anything?"

Hearing that Lu Yuan was also in such a bad situation, Shen Lingfeng instantly felt better. He even clapped his hands and said, "Compared to you guys, I'm really doing so well. I even got praised by my uncle and aunt, and my little sister especially likes to play with me."

Lu Yuan took a deep breath and patted Shen Lingfeng on the shoulder. "To be honest, I'm quite envious of you."

Shen Lingfeng: "..." I reasonably suspect you're mocking me!

As darkness fell, Cheng Zhi, the last to finish washing up, emerged from the bathroom. The transition from warmth to cold made her shiver involuntarily.

She shrank her neck, wanting to hurry upstairs and get into bed to warm up.

As soon as she reached the fourth floor, she saw Qi Yanche standing at the door of her room.

Cheng Zhi shone her flashlight on him, "Standing at the door as punishment instead of sleeping this late at night?"

Qi Yanche, blinded by the light, shook his head and said softly, "I'm waiting for you. We haven't even said a word to each other today. I don't want to fall asleep like this."

Wow, this guy is so blunt.

Cheng Zhi thought for a moment, then beckoned to him, "Come on, let's sit down and chat."

The two sat on the stairs leading to the fifth-floor attic. One looked up at the sky, the other at the ground, and neither spoke first.

The wind was quite strong tonight, and Cheng Zhi even wondered if he had said it but she hadn't heard it.

Cheng Zhi looked at the sky, and the person next to her remained silent. She was completely bewildered. "Didn't you say you wanted to talk to me? Why aren't you saying a word now?"

Qi Yanche looked up at her, "Well... I don't know where to begin, it feels like there's a lot to say."

“Then let’s go through it one by one. Why didn’t you go with Zheng Wan and the others immediately? Why did you lie to us? Please.” After saying that, Cheng Zhi even made a gesture for them to continue.

As expected, he was exposed. Qi Yanche sighed.

"Confess and you'll be treated leniently; resist and you'll be punished severely." Qi Yanche was about to lay his cards on the table. "I just wanted to try one more time. During this period, many vibrant lives died before my eyes. Do you know what I was thinking at that time? I thought of my parents who were far away on the other side of the ocean. I couldn't save them. All I could do was save the people in front of me and pray in my heart that they were still safe. This was a spiritual sustenance for me. Although it was silly, I needed it."

Cheng Zhi nodded and patted his shoulder. "I understand, but you also need to put yourself in their shoes. You are also a concern for your parents. If anything happens to you, they will be devastated."

The first matter was cleared up, and Cheng Zhi looked at Qi Yanche expectantly, "The second matter."

As expected, there was no escaping it. Qi Yanche patted the handrail next to him, struggled for a moment, and finally prepared to speak.

But as soon as he opened his mouth, he saw a horrifying scene not far away. "Cheng Zhi, what is that?!"

Cheng Zhi saw the terror in Qi Yanche's eyes and followed his gaze. She saw a large, black, unidentified object hurtling towards them at high speed in the sky.

Before they could even say "back to the room," they saw a flash of light and were then blown away by a gust of wind. Qi Yanche, being slightly heavier, only landed in the corridor.

Cheng Zhi fared much worse; she was blown away and then slammed onto the stairs leading down to the third floor.

Fortunately, the distance wasn't high, and the ground beneath her was wood, so although Cheng Zhi was in a lot of pain, it wasn't fatal.

She clung to the stairs, afraid to let go lest she be blown away again. Qi Yanche, standing in the corridor, was also unable to stand. He shouted, "Cheng Zhi, are you alright?"

Cheng Zhi replied with difficulty, "I'm fine, you should go back to your room."

As they spoke, Cheng Zhi had already climbed up. The wind in the corridor was stronger, and a bunch of messy things were mixed in with it, which were dazzling to the eye. What the hell was that?!

Their rooms were right next to the stairs, just a short distance apart. It took them at least five minutes to climb up. Just as Cheng Zhi was about to open the door and go in, she suddenly remembered something and shouted at the top of her lungs, "It's windy! Don't come out unless you have to! You'll die if you do!"
