Chapter 111 Punishment

Nan Zhiyun looked at Yu Jingchen pitifully. Even if another method was unbearable, it was still lighter than that kind of method... but she was still uneasy.

Yu Jingchen looked around and finally fixed his gaze on some miscellaneous books placed to the side.

He glanced at Nan Zhiyun, then walked over and picked up a book. Because of Yu Jingchen's movements, Nan Zhiyun's already pounding heart jumped into her throat. But she dared not move, much less turn around to see what Yu Jingchen was going to do.

Seeing Yu Jingchen bring over a book, Nan Zhiyun didn't know what he wanted to do, but she knew that based on this incident, Yu Jingchen would not let her off easily.

"Show me your hands," Yu Jingchen suddenly said.

Nan Zhiyun didn't understand what Yu Jingchen was going to do, but she could only spread her hands out.

Upon seeing this, Yu Jingchen rolled up the book and then gently placed it in Nan Zhiyun's palm.

Nan Zhiyun closed her eyes in fear, not because of pain, but simply because of tension and terror.

Yu Jingchen glanced at Nan Zhiyun's expression, then slapped her again. Nan Zhiyun didn't dare to open her eyes.

"Open your eyes. You said you would accept punishment, so why are you still afraid to look?" Yu Jingchen said.

Nan Zhiyun slowly opened her eyes.

"Does it hurt?" Yu Jingchen asked her.

Nan Zhiyun shook her head. Yu Jingchen hadn't used much force, and the book was relatively thin, so it didn't hurt much.

Upon hearing this, Yu Jingchen struck again, this time with a bit more force, but it was still alright.

"Did it hurt this time?" Yu Jingchen asked her again.

Nan Zhiyun hesitated for a moment, then shook her head. However, she was met with another, more forceful blow from Yu Jingchen, this time probably using about half his strength. Nan Zhiyun's hand even turned slightly red.

"Still no pain?" Yu Jingchen asked her.

Nan Zhiyun still said, "It doesn't hurt..." Compared to before, what is this pain?

"It's okay if it hurts, put your hand down," Yu Jingchen said, then put the book aside.

Nan Zhi was stunned for a moment. Did she just say... pain...?

"Did you remember?" Yu Jingchen asked her.

Nan Zhiyun was still a little confused, but she still nodded and replied, "I remember."

After hearing Nan Zhiyun's reply, Yu Jingchen reached out his hand.

Nan Zhiyun looked at Yu Jingchen, puzzled.

“If you remember, then get up. Why are you still kneeling?” Yu Jingchen said.

Nan Zhiyun seemed somewhat incredulous that Yu Jingchen had only punished her like this and then let her go. After all… this kind of thing wasn't really a punishment. When had Yu Jingchen ever given a light punishment? He would never let her off easily without severely punishing her; even if she didn't die, she would be half-dead, or seriously ill.

"Can't get up?" Yu Jingchen asked again.

Nan Zhiyun hesitated for a moment before looking at Yu Jingchen's outstretched hand. So... was he going to help her up? Nan Zhiyun didn't dare to give him her hand.

Yu Jingchen called her by her full name, "Nan Zhiyun".

Nan Zhiyun carefully extended her hand, and Yu Jingchen immediately pulled her over, then helped her up.

Because she used too much strength, Nan Zhiyun staggered when she stood up, but fortunately Yu Jingchen supported her.

"You can't even stand up after kneeling for so long?" Yu Jingchen said.

"Who told you to like kneeling so much?" Yu Jingchen pulled the person to sit down on the chair next to him.
