Late at night
Yu Jingchen had already rested when Xinglai rushed in.
"Your Majesty!" Xinglai called out.
"What is it?" Yu Jingchen was woken up by the noise.
“An Xin, who serves the Empress Dowager, just came over and said she wants to see His Majesty,” Xinglai replied.
Yu Jingchen frowned slightly.
"Do you know what it is?" Yu Jingchen asked.
"It seems that the Empress Dowager wants to leave the palace," Xinglai said.
"Leave the palace? Now?" Yu Jingchen's brows furrowed even deeper.
“Yes, Anxin said this was the Empress Dowager’s wish,” Xinglai replied one by one.
Yu Jingchen naturally had no idea what was going on, but it was already this late...
"Where is the Empress Dowager now?" Yu Jingchen asked.
"They're still in He'an Palace," Xinglai said.
He'an Palace… Yu Jingchen's heart stirred slightly, and the next second he gave the order: "Prepare the carriage for He'an Palace."
Xinglai: "..." Your Majesty, weren't you resting? Couldn't you have just said yes or no? Why did you have to go in person?

"The palace walls are too high, and I feel uncomfortable, so I want to go out for a walk. Is it really impossible for His Majesty to allow me to do so?" the Empress Dowager asked.
"Does Your Majesty find this reason reasonable?" Yu Jingchen's slightly scrutinizing gaze fell upon the Empress Dowager.
"So His Majesty agrees?" the Empress Dowager asked.
"Where does the Empress Dowager wish to go, and when will she return to the palace?" Yu Jingchen asked her.
"Your Majesty need not worry about where she goes. As for when she will return... Your Majesty, rest assured, Yun'er is still here. I cannot bear to leave her here to be bullied by you and the women in your harem." The Empress Dowager's words at the beginning were quite normal, but the latter part... why did it sound a bit sarcastic?
"I have sent men to escort the Empress Dowager," Yu Jingchen said, which meant he agreed.
"Sure, but he died at my hands as soon as he left home. Your Majesty, please don't feel too sorry for him," the Empress Dowager said casually.

“If the Empress Dowager only wants to leave like this, I will not let her go,” Yu Jingchen said very clearly and bluntly.
