Yu Jingchen gently stroked Nan Zhiyun's eyes with his fingers: "Don't cry, okay?" Yu Jingchen coaxed her.
Nan Zhiyun was afraid that Yu Jingchen would find out that she had just been faking it, and she was feeling guilty, so she didn't dare to respond.
"Hmm? Why aren't you saying anything?" Yu Jingchen thought she was still thinking.
“No…” Nan Zhiyun’s voice was very soft.
"Then why are your eyes so teary?" Nan Zhiyun's eyes were still red. The more tender and gentle Yu Jingchen was, the more guilty Nan Zhiyun felt. Being coaxed by Yu Jingchen like this made her feel a little awkward.
"Alright, it's my fault. I just saw Yun'er sleeping so soundly that I didn't wake you. Who knew you wouldn't wake up the whole way, but you woke up at that exact moment? Yun'er, please don't be upset, okay?" Yu Jingchen explained, but... Your Majesty, you were clearly just trying to make a fool of yourself, and you even teased her on purpose.
"You haven't eaten all morning, are you hungry?" Yu Jingchen changed the subject. Nan Zhiyun hadn't noticed before, but now she really felt a bit hungry.
"I'm hungry," Nan Zhiyun replied.
Yu Jingchen smiled, gently flicked Nan Zhiyun's nose, and then had someone bring her food. The imperial kitchen always kept food on hand, so it arrived quickly.
"I want to eat those grapes..." Nan Zhiyun watched as the people below brought the grapes over.
"Eat first." Yu Jingchen couldn't do anything about it.
"Eat the grapes first, just a little bit, then eat the rest of the meal, okay?" Nan Zhiyun was so captivated by the grapes that she couldn't tear herself away.
"No, what's wrong with you? Why do you have to treat me like a child even when we're eating? Hurry up and eat. Do you really want me to feed you?" Yu Jingchen said helplessly, his tone full of doting affection.
"A little bit is fine too." Nan Zhiyun still wanted to try her best.
"Hmm?" Yu Jingchen's voice carried a warning this time. Nan Zhiyun shut her mouth, not daring to speak again. He was just trying to scare her... but she was genuinely afraid.
In fact, Yu Jingchen has changed a lot. She knows that Yu Jingchen is different from before. He spoils her and indulges her a lot now. But... when Yu Jingchen puts on a serious face, Nan Zhiyun is still a little scared.
"Okay..." Nan Zhiyun couldn't refuse, so she had no choice but to eat obediently. Yu Jingchen only let her go when he saw that she was being obedient.
As Nan Zhiyun was eating, Yu Jingchen looked at the grapes placed beside him and said, "Bring those over."
Upon hearing this, the palace servants brought over all the grapes. Nan Zhiyun's eyes were practically glued to them, which amused Yu Jingchen. He took an empty plate and began peeling the grapes for her.
Compared to before, he peeled them much better now. Nan Zhiyun watched Yu Jingchen's actions and understood his intention, and a warm feeling unconsciously rose in her heart.
Yu Jingchen peeled a large plateful and placed it beside Nan Zhiyun after she finished eating.
"Have you finished eating?" Yu Jingchen took out a handkerchief and wiped the food from her mouth.
"Okay," Nan Zhiyun said. She had already eaten quite a bit, and her appetite had improved a lot compared to before. Perhaps because she had been eating more lately, and because she hadn't moved around much due to her injured foot, spending most of her time lying in bed or sitting in a chair, Nan Zhiyun had gained some weight.
