Chapter 29 Does he like kneeling?

Thinking about all this, Nan Zhiyun feared that Yu Jingchen might do something rash in a fit of anger. She might have sensed that Yu Jingchen was different now, but the long-standing shadows couldn't be erased overnight. And she no longer dared to trust Yu Jingchen.

Yu Jingchen remained silent for a long time, just standing there. After a while, he looked down at Nan Zhiyun kneeling on the ground, and then fell silent again.

"Nan Zhiyun, you really like kneeling, don't you?" Yu Jingchen's voice turned cold.

He didn't know what was wrong with him, and he didn't understand why he was so angry, but he also knew clearly that it wasn't because of Nan Zhiyun's tears.

"Your Majesty, please forgive me!" Nan Zhiyun shrank back in fear, and all the other palace servants in the room knelt down, crying out, "Your Majesty, please calm your anger!"

Yes, everyone could tell that Yu Jingchen was angry.

Nan Zhiyun thought that Yu Jingchen was angry because she cried, and that he still hated her as always, so he wanted to find an excuse to punish her.

Nan Zhiyun suddenly felt a sense of desolation and even gave up on begging for mercy. If Yu Jingchen really wanted to punish her, then whatever she said would be the same. Perhaps if she said something extra, the punishment would be even more severe. It wasn't impossible, so it was better to just confess her guilt outright.

"This concubine knows her crime and begs Your Majesty for punishment," Nan Zhiyun said, almost completely disheartened.

Yu Jingchen fell silent again, and Nan Zhiyun dared not make any other movements. Her movements were very precise, which made her extremely uncomfortable. However, no matter how painful it was, she could only obediently kneel there.

Nan Zhiyun knew Yu Jingchen was angry, which was why she hadn't spoken; this was also a form of punishment. Her illness hadn't fully healed, and although she hadn't been kneeling for long, her complexion worsened after a while.

"Weren't you always afraid of being punished before? Why are you taking the punishment now? If I were to punish you, do you know what you would encounter? Can you withstand it?" Yu Jingchen looked at Nan Zhiyun's increasingly unpleasant face, his tone showing no improvement.

"I know I have committed a grave offense against Your Majesty, and I dare not beg for forgiveness," Nan Zhiyun replied.

But her answer made Yu Jingchen even angrier.

"Nan Zhiyun!" Yu Jingchen called her name, his anger barely contained.

Nan Zhiyun trembled with fright at Yu Jingchen's shout. He had never called her name so loudly before; he must be furious.

"Please punish me, Your Majesty!" Nan Zhiyun was practically prostrate on the ground.

"You're really something," Yu Jingchen said.

Nan Zhiyun's heart grew colder and colder; this time, she was afraid she would lose half her life again.

Yu Jingchen's anger grew as he looked at Nan Zhiyun kneeling on the ground. He had given her face, and now she dared to defy him.

However, Yu Jingchen seemed to have overlooked something. Nan Zhiyun used to be like this too, except what was he thinking back then? Oh, feigning indifference, naturally aloof. Did he really think he wouldn't dare punish her? Or did he think that a few insincere words would make him let her off? No, he would only punish her more severely.

Nan Zhiyun is in the same boat now, but his mindset is definitely different. And it seems he hasn't realized something very important: what exactly is he angry about?

"So you really want to be punished? I may grant your wish." Yu Jingchen's tone was slightly cold.
